Reintroducing The Visualizer

The Basics

Before you can use the Visualizer, make sure you turn it on by going into Options from the main screen and ensuring the Visualizer button has an ''X''. After you've made a change to this option, please exit TNM and open it again. Turning the Visualizer OFF doesn't require a restart but turning it ON does.

With the Visualizer Image Wizard plugin, you can add images to your wrestlers, managers, tag teams and championships which then get shown by a second component called the Visualizer when you are running matches.

While in many cases the additional window with the wrestler images is nice to have but doesn't offer you any further use beyond that, the Visualizer shines brightest when you are running a match that relies on eliminations such as a Battle Royal, Royal Rumble, Elimination Match or Elimination Chamber match.

When a wrestler is eliminated from the competition, their name is crossed out on-screen so you can easily keep track of who is still alive in the match.

The Visualizer was created before the PNG format became a web standard. Therefore, it only supports JPG and BMP images.

To be able to quickly assign images in the Visualizer Image Wizard, please store them in the MEDIA folder located in your TNM7SE folder. Do not put them in MEDIA\GRADIENTS or any other folder.

Using the Visualizer Image Wizard

After you run the Visualizer Image Wizard plugin, you'll see a tree structure on the left-hand side of the program window with sections for Wrestlers, Tag Teams, Stables, Managers and Titles.

Drill them down to reach the record you're looking for.

Different sections have different image size and aspect ratio recommendations.

For Wrestlers and Managers, the optimal size is 400px width and 500px height. You may go bigger or smaller if you choose but try to stay as close to a 4:5 (0.8) aspect ratio as you can.

For Tag Teams, double the width. So the optimal picture will have 800px width and 500px height and a 8:5 (1.6) aspect ratio.

With Stables, it depends on the number of people in the image. If it's three, the optimum image size is 1200px width and 500px height.

As a rule of thumb, use 400px width times the number of people in the image and a height of 500px.

Please note that at the time of writing, Tag Team and Stable images aren't used in the Visualizer, even if assigned in the plugin. Only Wrestler, Manager and Title images are currently being used.

Wrestlers

As this is the easiest, most straight-forward section, we'll use it to explain the general concepts of the plugin.

If you've copied all your images to the TNM7SE\TNM7SE\MEDIA folder as mentioned above, you'll be able to quickly assign your images to wrestlers.

All unassigned images are shown in the image list on the bottom. Single-click a filename to see who is in it. Double-click a filename to assign it to the wrestler shown.

By clicking ''Add Image(s) From MEDIA folder'', you can choose an image manually. This makes sense if two records share the same image, in which case it won't show up in the list of stray images.

You are also permitted to select any other image from your file system, in which case the plugin will copy the image to the MEDIA folder upon assignment.

You can assign as many images to a wrestler as you wish - one of them will be chosen randomly each time the wrestler appears (unless covered by a Tag Team or Stable, as shown below).

Optimal image size is 400px width and 500px height. You can also use bigger or (if necessary) smaller images as long as the aspect ratio is as close to 4:5 (0.8) as possible. For performance reasons, it is recommended to actually use 400px by 500px images and not depend on TNM to scale down the images every time they are used.

Managers

Managers follow the exact same rules as Wrestlers.

In the Visualizer window itself, managers will be shown as a miniature in the lower-right corner of their client's image.

Tag Teams

As mentioned above, these images aren't currently used by the Visualizer but may be used in a future version.

Tag Teams consist of two people side-by-side so it should come as no surprise that the ideal size for such an image is 800px width and 500px height, or exactly twice as wide as a single wrestler.

The optimal aspect ratio is 8:5 (1.6). For performance reasons, please try to have the images be as close to 800px by 500px as possible. Scaling can be done but it costs performance.

Stables

Like images for Tag Teams, these images aren't currently used by the Visualizer but may be used in a future version.

Since Stables can (theoretically) have an unlimited number of members, you can assign separate images for any subset of members.

Here's how it works: Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and click the names of all members in the image you wish to assign. Then click the ''Add Image(s) From MEDIA folder'' button and select the image you wish to assign to this combination of wrestlers.

Optimal rule of thumb: For every person in the image, your images should be 400px wide. Three people - 1200 pixels. Four people - 1600 pixels. Image height should be 500px independent of the number of people.

More practical rule of thumb: Once you go beyond three members in an image, just use any width you please, even if it's more narrow than the 400px times number of people guideline.

Titles

You can add pictures for any championship in any of your circuits.

It will then be shown as a miniature in the Visualizer window itself.
