Interview
The Rock had something very special in store for Hollywood Hogan.
TR = The Rock
HH = Hollywood Hogan
VM = Vince McMahon
TR: You know what, Huckster ? Your candy-ass just made my day. There you are
thinking you fooled The Rock and pulled a fast one on him. The Rock says
The Rock knows a jabronie that's going to give you a death scare... if
you smeeeeeeeeellll what McMahon is cookin' !
[ Vince McMahon leaves the announcer position and enters the ring with a
mike in hand. ]
VM: Hollywood Hogan... after your actions of the past weeks, the WWF
championship committee has come to the conclusion to give your title shot
to a more deserving wrestler. You have changed the outcome of more than just
one title match - for selfish reasons. That has been deemed unacceptable
behaviour and for that reason, you will not face The Rock at WrestleMania.
HH: You know you can't do that, Vince ! I won the Royal Rumble and the WWF
rulebook clearly states that the winner of the Royal Rumble is entitled to
face the WWF Champion at the WrestleMania immediately following the Rumble.
Don't you try to pull a fast one on me !
VM: Sorry, Hulk, but you overlooked something. It clearly states "unprofessional
conduct by a wrestler voids all scheduled title matches for a period of 90
days". For that reason, Chris Benoit will get the title shot at The Rock at
WrestleMania and The Rock is reinstated with a three-year contract as of
this minute.
HH: You know as well as I do that no such rule exists !
VM: We added it this morning.
HH: But... but...
VM: However, if you really want that title match so badly, the committee has
decided to offer you a new contract for WrestleMania. In case you accept it,
Chris Benoit will face the winner of the WrestleMania match at the next In
Your House thereafter.
TR: You're going to want to hear this, jabronie !
HH: Rock... your ass belongs to me ! McMahon - I accept the contract, whatever
it states !
VM: Very well... so the WrestleMania match between The Rock and Hollywood Hogan
is back on. If Hogan wins, he will get the WWF World Title, and The Rock
will be out of the WWF. However, if The Rock wins, Hollywood Hogan will have
to retire from the WWF and The Rock will be reinstated. Thank you very much,
gentlemen. We all have business to attend to.
Match Observations:
There has probably never been a better team who managed not to get along on so
many different levels as Chris Benoit and Ken Shamrock. Those two have it all:
the wrestling skill, the poise, the great brawling... you name it. Really, all
that is missing is a team spirit, and for that reason, the two of them will be
given the chance to split up - despite being WWF World Tag Team Champions.
They will be facing one another at WrestleMania. Whoever wins this encounter
will be permitted to name a new tag team partner with whom he will hold the WWF
World Tag Team Titles.
The Acolytes continue to kick some serious butt, and as Kensuke Sasaki found
out tonight, there is one sure way to tick off Bradshaw: lariat him.
Nobody really knows what goes on in Cactus Jack's mind. He announced tonight
that he will not be wrestling Stan Hansen at WrestleMania 2015 "for personal
reasons"... whatever that may mean. He did point out, though, that he will be
finding suitable replacement against Hansen. He better because nobody but the
best has ever been able to defeat Hansen !
Shawn Michaels and Canadian WWF superstar Edge keep duking it out for the WWF
Intercontinental Title. After last night's upset win, Shawn Michaels through his
sheer determination pulled off a win over Edge which gave him the
Intercontinental title once again. Way to go, Shawn and Edge ! They will be
rematched at WrestleMania... in one of Shawn Michals' speciality matches, a
ladder match.
The Rock was the prime beneficiary of Hollywood Hogan's interference once again.
Just as Chris Benoit was about to put him away, Hogan came to the rescue.
However, he may have hurt his own title chances beyond repair in the process.
WWF officials determined that either Hogan drop his title shot - or that he
agree to a new contract which calls for the winner of the Hogan-Rock match
getting the WWF World Title and the loser leaving the WWF forever !
