Issue with maximums notification in build 5c

RKLPosted on 06/14/08 at 16:58:39

When I load up my game the warning states:

"You have exceeded the recommended maximums: Moves (31), Moves (28) "

I have been deleting moves but this only decreases the first Moves number, the second one stays the same. What moves is the game talking about in the second number?

I have a screenshot of this:

have you tried clicking on the "how to fix maximums" button that is on that very screen?

I'm guessing that you have a LOT of wrestler exports in your TNM as well.

Yes, I have tried clicking on the "how to fix maximums" buttons on that very screen

I have 477 wrestlers in my database.

That second set COULD be referring to Dives... but I doubt it.

Have you run the Diagnostics Utility?

You need the Database Cleaner plugin. It's quite simple as it will pull in all the unnecessary moves and dives and you can delete all of them in one click.

I've tried deleting Dives, but it does not change the second Moves number in the warning.

Have you run the Diagnostics Utility?
Yes, everything checks out fine.

I have it already and it does remove unnecessary moved and dives. My concern is why there are two warnings for moves since the first one is the only one that changes when I delete a move. Deleting a Dive does not change the second Moves warning.

Just a thought, but have you emailed Oliver about this?  Perhaps he can shed some light on the matter.

No, I have not e-mailed Oliver about this.

Does it matter? I have exceeded the max moves by 50 or something, and TNM still runs fine.

Well, it would suck if this was indicative of a larger problem, and he got 20 or 30 shows into a decent circuit and then the entire program stopped working.

But have Oliver or anyone else explained what the consequences of having too many moves, are?

It just makes the program run slower because it only has a certain amount of memory alloted for its use. In extreme circumstances, it'll cause it to error out and crash.

I think this is the deal. The number that it gives you on top, the one that always sticks around - that I think is what the recommended number of moves is. The hard limit, as it tells you, is 999. However, I remember when TNM's limits were being discussed that Oliver said something about something like 700-800 moves being recommended for the best performance. I'm probably running TNM with the hard limit 99% of the time and I rarely have ever had an issue with it.
