Hulk Hogan vs Mr. America

Tom_ImpPosted on 06/20/03 at 22:56:59

I know they are one in the same person. It's hard to believe, but it's true.   ;)

I have a question about using them in TNM. Don't ask me why, but I like using the Big Orange One in my circuits. I guess it's kinda a respect thing. Even though I feel he should have retired 10 yrs. ago, he is the biggest name of all time.

That said, I'm kinda stuck with a dilemma. With Hogan "gone" and now Mr. America on the scene, I don't know which to use in my circuit. I don't want to use both because frankly that's kinda stupid. I've even made them faceoff in 2 out of 3 matches to see if one dominates the other. If one did then I'd clearly use that person, but unfortunately they are pretty even and keep splitting the matches.

Which of these two "stellar" wrestlers would you use and why?

Mr. America's new mask is pretty cool looking.  I think with wearing the mask it kind of makes us forget Hogan is about 50 years old.

Hogan, because you can use the Hendrix music for him.

Hogan, hands down. This Mr. America thing is stupid. The Gimmick is dumb, the storyline sucks, and we all know that in the end Hogan is gonna come back. At least I hope so, (unless he just retires, which I would be fine with too.) I just hope this Mr. America thing passes quickly, and quietly.

I'd also use Hogan rather than Mr. America as I find the entire idea stupid.

I hated it in 1987 when Dusty Rhodes came back from his suspension as the masked "Midnight Rider" which this angle is a 100% ripoff on.

On a related note - am I the only one who can't stand hearing the name Zack Gowen anymore ? I mean, my hat's off to the guy for doing what he does but talk about being shoved down our throat...

Yeah, I can empathize on the Zack Gowen thing. It's amazing that he can do what he does, but it should be enough to let his in-ring skills speak for themself. The whole "I'm Mr. McMahon, and I laugh at little freaks like Zack Gowen!" "Oh, but Daddy, Zack Gowen is the most inspirational thing ever!" "I'm a slut, and I think you're cute Zack! Rowr! No, just kidding, you are a freak after all!" "Zack Gowen will never work for me, because I think he's hiding Hogan in his prosthetic leg! I'm Vince McMahon, Dammit!" "Whatchagonna do, Brother, when Mr. America gives a rub lasting weeks and weeks and weeks to you!?!" thing is getting ridiculous.

Argh! Enough! Zack Gowen is impressive, yes. But he's not a main eventer! Stop giving him Chris Benoit's spot!

I'm leaning towards Hogan myself, especially for the reason Carlzilla stated. Most likely this gimmick will pass and Hogan will be back as himself. If and when that happens, then I'd be stuck with the stupid Mr. America in my circuit.

Yeah, I think I'll go with with the Big Orange One. Thanks guys.   :)
