Round Robin Problem

CGoldPosted on 06/20/03 at 01:08:13

I cant seem to run a tag team round robin tournament It totally destroyed my circuit adding 20+Edge's to the
top of the roster list no idea what the problem is. Any Clues?

Looks like the Bastion Booger Bug hit you.

Am I correct in the assumption that you made up at least some of the teams in the Round Robin of mystery wrestlers?

Basically, it seems that if you do this, TNM can't track the teams (Presumably because the M key doesn't pick a wrestler until the match begins) and therefore they can't be selected, etc.  When TNM tries to do this, it gets confused and shows the first bunch of wrestlers as a certain one (presumably it's a given number on the list, but I really don't know for sure.).  For you, it was apparently Edge.  When I first discovered the bug, it gave me Bastion Booger, hence the name.

Oliver sent me a file that fixed my circuit up, but I don't know whether I can safely pass it on to you or not, as any number of things in there could be different between our versions for all I know.  If Oliver gives the okay and you send me your email address, I'll send the file on over.  Or he might.  Who knows?

Oh, if any of the stuff I'm talking about sounds wrong, correct me.  It's sort of interesting, and Oliver could probably use any insight you have into what happened.

So posting the basic specs of your machine and the process you went through before B3 hit might help keep this from happening again by allowing Oliver to add in a little thingy to the code to stop it.

I'm not sure but I think I figured out the problem I was planning on running the tournament in my circuit but as usual when planning to do something I haven't done before I started a Test Circuit to sample out my options I ran the tournament out of e-mail mode so I didn't have to go throught the bother of hiring anyone, after posting earlier I ran another Test Circuit but hired all the guys and I had no problems so I think it is just an issue in E-Mail Mode.

It may be related, as B3 occurred for me in an e-mail mode circuit as well.  Did you actually pick the wrestlers who would compete in the round robin, or just select random and/or mystery wrestlers?

I actually picked the guys.

It's an actual issue with the programming language that TNM was written in. The company who I licensed it from unfortunately hasn't been very helpful in finding the problem in their compiler and eliminating it.

Eric, it would be great if you could send him the file because I don't have it here anymore... my source code is on 7SE level and that wouldn't work on his system anymore.

Thanks !

Not a problem.  I'll send it his way tonight.
