still no plugins

ZeroOneMrMackPosted on 05/07/03 at 02:49:55

well i now am running build6e...whatever that means.
but i still have no plugins.

keep getting messages like ... no TNM directory found...or need an updated version of cardsrv.pbc...or i spend countless hours DL ing and unzipping and saving and extracting and moving files to no avail.

so nobody has a guide to installing these plugins? im starting to feel like im pretty much on my own with these things.

the only plugin that even shows in my ABOUT PLUGINS is the CARD STATISTICS one..all Mr.Copp replied to me was that its a circuit plugin...well when i go into the circuit i cant use it anyway.

too bad- the plugins seem like theyd really enhance the whole experience

It's pretty easily actually, I don't know what kind of guide there needs to be. Download a plugin, anywhere, it doesnt matter what folder. Then extract the contents of the .zip file, you know if you're using winzip, click that button that says "extract". When it asks you where to extract the contents to, select the NEWPLUGS folder inside of your main TNM folder, if you used the defaults while installing it would be "C:\TNM7\NEWPLUGS", without the quotation marks. After doing that, start up TNM7, the screen should read "New plugins were found in the NEWPLUGS directory. Do you wish to install them now?" Select yes, then when the list comes up, double click each one you want to install, the text should change from white to yellow, press enter on your keyboard, the plugins will now be installed. They should now show up in the "About Plugin" section, available after selecting "Plugins" on the main page. Then depending on which type of plugin it is determines when you can use it. Match plugins are only available when scheduling a card. Circuit plugins are available only from acccessing "Plugins" from your circuit menu.

scott-
appreciate your reply. its the most concise ive gotten to this point.
ive done the unzipping and extracting and all but when i startup TNM..it doesnt tell me there are new plugins to install.

i figured itd be pretty simple too. ive never had a problem importing wrestlers from export files.

Do you possibly have more than one copy of TNM installed? Maybe you are extracting the files to one, and running another install. For instance, I have my real wrestler TNM installed in the default c:\tnm7 directory, but I have a seperate installation to deal with my fantasy wrestlers located in c:\tnm7fant. If you want the same stuff in both you have to install it to each. Maybe you installed it in more than one directory and are not aware of it.

mark-

thanks once again for the response. my problem still persists though.
ive got just the one TNM - no more.
i tried to delete all that i had DL's and re-download all the plugins using winzip into the NEWPLUGS folder.

ones like CARD STATISTCS, FCA CUBED,SCAFFOLD, WW3, MATCH STATISTICS etc simply dont show up at all when i go in to run them.

the INTERVWG brings up a message that says "Sorry, but you need an updated version of CARDSV.PBC"

the CEDITOR and CTWEAKER ones give a message "Sorry, but you need a registered version of TNM7 to use this plugin"..which i have registered long ago. says registered to me every time i run TNM.

i appreciate your effort to help but this is becoming futile. am pretty disappointed that Mr.Copp - who i know reads messages on these boards- hasnt been able to provide more support for his users.

"Sorry, but you need a registered version of TNM7 to use this plugin"..
==========
That sounds like there is something with your Windows registry. Once you register you TNM7, it should know if it has been registered in the past, just as it knows that you have gone over your 28 day trial, even if you delete, scan disk, defrang and such the HD. The only way to get another 28 days is to re-formate your HD.

BTW, what version of windows are you using? (ME, 2k, XP).

I hade the SAME problem a while ago, and I am trying to figure out how I got it to work.

ALSO, if you try and install a bunch at the same time, the program will either freeze/crash or not install them all. My sugestion, is, that once we get you going, install 1 or 2 at at time.

I will try and catch you on AOL IM and try and help you. my IM screen name is Luksguy

How much more clearly can I put it than to unzip the contents of every plugin ZIP file into the NEWPLUGS folder :-) ?

Seriously, though... the messages you mention only show up when you try to run the EXE files directly (for instance through the Explorer).

You know how you'd be able to help me help you ? Open a DOS window, navigate to your TNM 7 folder (usually if it's in C:\TNM7, the command is: cd \tnm7 - if you have more than one hard disk, you might have to change to drive C: first by typing: C:).

Then type the following:

cd newplugs
dir > c:\tnmlog.txt

Finally, send me the TNMLOG.TXT file and I'll be able to tell you why your plugins aren't recognized. Even better - post it here.

Thanks.
