Question about no shows

rey619Posted on 05/26/08 at 07:39:48

What happens when someone no shows a booked match? If Cena is booked to defeat HBK, but is replaced with HHH, does HHH defeat HBK? What if the booking is advanced? What if Cena is booked to win by Submission > Finisher (STFU). HHH's finisher isn't submission, hence TNM wouldn't end the match and it would go on forever, am I right?

I could run a few tests myself, but I don't have TNM at work.. maybe I should install it at work and play during lunch. Hah.

I am no help because I seldom book matches, however it is an interesting question and I am looking forward to the answers.

As for bringing TNM to work, I can think of worse ways to waste company time  8)

I just no sell the no show wrestler feature by selecting the wrestler who no showed from the list.

I do that as well, but sometimes, the no selling wrestler isn't on the list, then you have to get creative.

No selling? No showing... well, I tend to run with it, as no shows happen from time to time on the Indy scene. Alternatively, I put the no-showing wrestler in the match anyway, and concoct a story about him having heat backstage.. so he might get fired anyway.

I hired Big Titan to my WWE Circuit back in '06 and changed his name to Titan, aligned him with AJ Styles and then put him in the middle of the I/C title picture. I booked a Fatal Fourway Match for a PPV for the I/C title, and he no showed so I tossed Booker T into the match and Booker won the belt. I was set to give Titan a push after that PPV, but I fired him instead. Haven't used him since either.

Hmm.. doesn't seem as if anyone wants to answer my question...  well, I'll find out on my own then!!

(But I'll tell you about it afterwards)

OK, I booked Austin Aries to make Brodie Lee submit to his finisher. I then tweaked the no show seed to 1, and both guys no-showed. I replaced Aries with BJ Whitmer (who has a pinfall move as a finisher) and Lee with the Sandman (doesn't really matter).

The match wouldn't end for some reasons, so yes, when someone no-shows that is booked as a winner, you shouldn't replace them with someone who has a different finisher type.

Case closed, mystery solved.

Do I get a cookie for solving my own question?

Sure, but in the spirit of things you have to bake it yourself.

(good job, BTW)

Not from me, but I want to know how many stars a ten hour Whitmer/Sandman match got.
rey619Posted on 05/28/08 at 08:05:39

It actually got ****1/4
JakePosted on 05/28/08 at 08:10:55

Well, you can't really conclude anything based on one result.
rey619Posted on 05/28/08 at 12:34:18

Well.. true... I could run several simulations, but I think the results would be the same. I might run a simulation where a booked winner is replaced with someone with the same type of finisher though. See if that still works.

Or what if a booked winner wins with a move (not a finisher) that isn't in the new wrestler's movelist?

Hmm..
