I ran the MitB match as an Elimination Chamber, because it seemed a good alternative given TNM's limitations. Kurt Angle, John Cena, and Trevor Murdoch had the highest push going in and were expected to win (Angle most of all). Rob Conway was only an afterthought to fill in as 6th man.  Turned out to be a great match.

HAH! I should post all MY 5 star ratings.
triad4evrPosted on 05/31/07 at 00:15:13

I would say that perfect stats do not constitute a legit match... but maybe that's me. I would think a trained monkey with a keyboard could book a five-star match if all his wrestlers had perfect stats...

I just started a new circuit based on the TNM-RG rules and the old USWA promotion. I got this on Card 4:

[World Unified Title tournament - Semi-Finals]:
Ken Shamrock made Gino Hernandez submit to the Ankle Lock Submission in 0:34:22
.
Rating: *****
[Shinya Hashimoto interfered against Gino Hernandez.]

Outside interference was not booked, wrestlers have not had their stats boosted from the exports I downloaded of them.
Memphis_VicePosted on 06/07/07 at 07:24:32

Just got another on Week 18:

L.O.D. Animal & Heidenreich (Animal and Heidenreich) defeated
Buddy Landel and Iceman King Parsons when Heidenreich pinned Buddy Landel
with the Spinning Side Slam in 0:35:06.
Rating: *****
[Petey Williams interfered against Buddy Landel.]

Week 30 brings another five star match to the best circuit on Earth, my USWA:

No-Time-Limit-Cage Match for the vacant USWA Tag Titles:
High Voltage (Rage and Kaos) defeated Stan Lane and Jerry Lawler when Rage
defeated Stan Lane when Stan Lane passed out in an abdominal stretch in
          9:25:47.
Rating: *****
(High Voltage won the USWA Tag Titles.)
(Steve Keirn no-showed.)
UnrightPosted on 06/12/07 at 21:42:48

I dunno about that last one.. I think 9 hour matches are more of a glitch than a well simulated match.

Plus it's High Voltage. They just aren't that good.
triad4evrPosted on 06/13/07 at 02:19:10

ya there needs to be some calculation that starts knocking off stars if a match goes _too_ long- or at very least there should be some audience variability. Some people these days would absolutely "boo" an old-school hour-long technical mat match and go nuts for a fifteen minute cruiserweight tag match. Cuz you can be sure if you get a crazy-long match and the guys aren't complete turds, you will get more stars than it deserves. My two cents!

Whoops, I missed that part.

Hell, I give 'em five stars just for working those kind of hours.

I wish my boss gave me five stars after a nine hour day. Today I pulled those kind of hours and she only gave me ** 3/4 plus some tacos.
triad4evrPosted on 06/15/07 at 00:42:08

Shoot. I didn't even get _tacos_...

[King Of The Ring Finals]:
Chris Jericho made Scott Hall submit to the Walls Of Jericho in 0:19:37.

Perverted_IconPosted on 06/28/07 at 10:27:54

From an RG rules fed that's 86 cards in.  The heat in these RG feds is sick, and I think lead to more ***** matches than regular circuits.  Tag team matches on add to this.

Charlie Haas and Chris Jericho defeated Elix Skipper and Mike Sanders when
C. Haas defeated Prime Time when Prime Time passed out in the Haas Of Pain in
          0:19:40.
Rating: *****
(Charlie Haas and Chris Jericho won the World Unified Tag Team Titles.)

Elix Skipper and Mike Sanders defeated Charlie Haas and Chris Jericho when
Sanders pinned C. Haas with the Bareback in 0:31:15.
Rating: *****
(Elix Skipper and Mike Sanders won the World Unified Tag Team Titles.)

Elimination Chamber Match:
Rick Steamboat won a 5-man Elimination Chamber Match:
x Jericho and Nagata started out.
x Rick Steamboat entered at 0:02:00
x Christopher Daniels entered at 0:04:00
        x Sabu entered at 0:06:00
x Nagata defeated Sabu after the Nagata Lock in 0:29:54
x Steamboat defeated C. Daniels after the Flying Cross Body Press in

x Steamboat defeated Nagata after a double underhook suplex in 0:37:22
x Steamboat defeated Jericho after a tiger suplex in 0:40:26
Rating: *****
(Rick Steamboat won the World Unified Title.)

Christopher Daniels and Jay Lethal defeated
Vicious and Delicious (Buff Bagwell and Scott Norton) when C. Daniels pinned
Scott Norton after a springboard moonsault in 0:32:15.
Rating: *****
(Christopher Daniels and Jay Lethal won the World Unified Tag Team Titles.)

Memphis_VicePosted on 06/29/07 at 01:24:12

Y'know I think I'd believe in the possibility of a ***** High Voltage match before I'd believe in a ***** Bagwell match.

High Voltage were green powerhouses, but they weren't all that bad, either. One of them (Kaos I think) had a sweet slingshot splash. They tried hard.

Then again, Bagwell was a better worker in the days before Rick Steiner broke his neck with a botched bulldog.
Perverted_IconPosted on 06/29/07 at 08:38:36

Trust me, I didn't believe it, either.  I think Norton and Daniels had incredible heat at that point, both being multiple-times Unified World title holders and having many matches together.

But to be hard saying that a match between Liger & 'busa was going to be bad would be like looking at a taco and saying it's not going to be delicious.  Because you know it will be.  Their matches are tacos.
ntnrerunPosted on 04/03/08 at 20:26:44

a couple recent unbooked 5 star matches I had were:

Ric Flair defeating The Rock

and

Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Owen Hart, & Ric Martel defeating The Rock, Randy Orton, & Harlem Heat.

had a booked match between Cactus Jack and Vader that was 5 stars though.

I recently started a WWE Raw circuit similar to Oliver's. I have made it through 3 1/2 years starting with No Way Out 2008. I have had numerous highlights, such as The Great Khali getting fed up with his lack of gold and him subsequently "Forcing" William Regal to team with him to capture the tag team titles, but these are the only 5 star matches.

On the very first card, No Way Out 2008, Triple H becomes the #1 Contender to Randy Orton's WWE Title:

Elimination Chamber Match:
Triple H won a 6-man Elimination Chamber Match:
x Triple H and J. Hardy started out.
x Chris Jericho entered at 0:02:00
x Shawn Michaels entered at 0:04:00
x J. Hardy defeated Jericho after a Victory Roll in 0:04:43
        x Umaga entered at 0:06:00
x John "Bradshaw" Layfield entered at 0:08:00
x JBL defeated J. Hardy after the Clothesline From Hell in 0:25:49
x Triple H defeated JBL after the Pedigree in 0:33:54
x S. Michaels defeated Umaga after the Sweet Chin Music in 0:37:25
        x Triple H defeated S. Michaels after a spinebuster slam in 0:38:19
Rating: *****

This was the following WWE Title Match at WrestleMania 2008:

Randy Orton pinned Triple H with the RKO in 0:46:25.
Rating: *****

Sounds like an interesting circuit you got going there.  Scott Norton, eh?
ThnikkamanPosted on 04/04/08 at 03:10:28

This past Sunday during the Wrestlemania 24 I ran for my WWE circuit I had a 5 star Money in the Bank match (6 man battle royale, pinfalls/submissions the only way to eliminate) in which Ted Dibiase Jr (reigning I/C Champion) defeated Batista, John Cena, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio

Yeah, he was a "M" hire. I wasn't pumped because he's older now and I meant to edit the available wrestlers but forgot to. I believe he appeared in 2010 which would make him ancient, but he wound up destroying the competition at the Intercontinental level, my export might need some fine tuning, he seems to always win.

You should post this circuit... I'd read :)

Everytime I book a cage match (pinfall only) between Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan (they had a long time feud in one of my old circuits), and both wrestlers juiced, I always got a five star rating if Cactus Jack won the match. If Sullivan won, I usually would get ****3/4. I did managed to pull out a ***** match that Sullivan did win though.

Elimination Chambers do tend to get high ratings...
ThnikkamanPosted on 04/14/08 at 07:51:59

I have noticed that TNM likes the "spot-fest" matches a lot ... high ratings to those
piperfan18Posted on 04/17/08 at 04:08:01

I had one recently at Armageddeon it was a Cruiserweight Battle Royale. In which Rey Mysterio defeated Teddy Hart, Petey Williams, Paul London, Spike Dudley, and Chavo Guerrero
SolomattGrundyPosted on 04/24/08 at 13:56:21

Into the third year of my offline, unbooked TNM-RG circuit, I received my first ever five star match in that circuit on the eighth week of the third year.

Kenta Kobashi pinned Big Boss Man with the Burning Lariat in 0:17:49.
Rating: *****
(Kenta Kobashi retained the USWA Unified World Title.)

Kobashi's held the title eleven times and this was the final successful title defense in his tenth title reign. He actually lost the title the next week to Juventud Guerrera but regained it the week after. Sadly for Kobashi, his eleventh and maybe final, USWA Unified title reign was cut short when he declined to renew his contract. I was going to keep him around until he lost the title, but he tore his groin in his last contracted match and forced me to strip him of the title. Still, he went out with style, getting a five star match out of the Boss Man. Hope to have more five star matches in this circuit, will keep you posted if I do.

The point being that TNM really likes spotfests that go on forever. Seriously, neither of these guys could even come close to a five-star match, even when pitted against Danielson, let alone against each other.

Oh, I had the times edited post-card. It really ended at around 30-minutes.
HulkstraightPosted on 05/24/08 at 10:08:41

Hi, I'm new to the board and I'm going through my 3rd period of rediscovery with TNM. To introduce myself I'd like to share my legit 5 star matches in my WWf circuit which is an unbooked, no story-line, ratings and statistic driven fed. It has have 4 "brands" (Light Heavyweight, Intercontinetal, Hardcore and Heavyweight) and 7 titles (Light Heavyweight Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, World Tag Team Championship, Hardcore Championship, Intercontinental Championship, Six Man Tag Team Championship and The Iron Man Grand Prix).

Along with previous posters I've noticed that Elimination Chamber matches produce the highest amount of 5 star matches. And I've also experienced the marathon match "bug". Here are mine so far.

In all seriousness, no, I can't blame them, cause I sure as hell thought he would too. I saw his Hustle match where he was teaming with Kojima against Sodom and Gomorrah, fully expecting hm to provide wacky antics while Kojima did all the work.
