Some people these days would absolutely "boo" an old-school hour-long technical mat match and go nuts for a fifteen minute cruiserweight tag match. Cuz you can be sure if you get a crazy-long match and the guys aren't complete turds, you will get more stars than it deserves. My two cents! |

High Voltage were green powerhouses, but they weren't all that bad, either. One of them (Kaos I think) had a sweet slingshot splash. They tried hard. Then again, Bagwell was a better worker in the days before Rick Steiner broke his neck with a botched bulldog. |

Kenta Kobashi pinned Big Boss Man with the Burning Lariat in 0:17:49. Rating: ***** (Kenta Kobashi retained the USWA Unified World Title.) Kobashi's held the title eleven times and this was the final successful title defense in his tenth title reign. He actually lost the title the next week to Juventud Guerrera but regained it the week after. Sadly for Kobashi, his eleventh and maybe final, USWA Unified title reign was cut short when he declined to renew his contract. I was going to keep him around until he lost the title, but he tore his groin in his last contracted match and forced me to strip him of the title. Still, he went out with style, getting a five star match out of the Boss Man. Hope to have more five star matches in this circuit, will keep you posted if I do. |
