I have strayed from the path...

crazyarbyPosted on 05/06/10 at 06:24:44

Played TEW 2010 for a week.
Felt dirty.
Just ran ten straight cards on TNM7.
feel better.

I'm polysimistic.

I'll play with anything so long as it's fun.

For the one true sim we will follow....so say we all...

could be worse, you could have been playing Farmville

I've tried TEW and the other one (escapes my mind at the moment), and the fact that they take away any and all creativity really bothers me. I like to be responsible for my own angles.

I use to really want the money aspect and stuff to be transferred with TNM's engine, but now I'm glad TNM is just the way it is. I don't want to be told I can't hire Samba Simba because I don't have enough money!

I like having the option. Anyone (WWE) with unlimited budget should be able to put on a top-tier show.

Tod Gordon and Doug Gentry doing damn good shows on a shoestring budget, OTOH, is damn impressive ;->

Me too. Played a year in TEW. It's strangely addictive, but not really that fun. Playing the Cornellverse helps though.

I find that it's more amusing for me to just sim through and see how things unfold on there own than actually playing TEW.  Whenever I attempt to play it, I lose interest extremely quickly.

I have never played TEW, but I have thought of experimenting with it ...

How does TNM7 feel about open relationships? Anyone ever noticed an increase in injuries and sudden wrestler departures when returning to it after an extended TEW play session?
rey619Posted on 05/12/10 at 23:20:32

I think TEW is trying to sell me on few injuries. Throughout a year with AAA, I suffered no injuries. TNAW in TNM has had its share of injuries (and more to come..)
crazyarbyPosted on 05/13/10 at 04:35:12

I do like the Cornellverse and I'll probably make some of those characters in TNM since I use fantasy wrestlers exclusively.  It  just has no payoff.  After one spends an hour booking a show the only thing at the end is "X beats Y by underhanded means."
A few of the things in TEW would be nice to have (and are on the big wishlist thread.)  But I like seeing the match unfold and getting interesting results.
Drunken FoolPosted on 05/13/10 at 04:38:38

As a "GAME" I really like TEW, as well as it's predecessor EWR, but as an actual wrestling "simulator" No, although some guys from the CornellVerse have inspired a lot of the fantasy wrestlers I have created on TNM over the years, and I do sometimes get Ideas for angles and storylines from it for TNM. I haven't actually purchased a TEW program myself, but I've been playing the freeware version if TEW2005 on and off pretty much since it was released. I personally however liked Ryland's previous EWR game a lot better, at least you get to see complete match summaries, although unrealistic most of the time.
