Who was your worst champion ever (unbooked)?

Drunken FoolPosted on 02/08/10 at 19:28:21

Mine was Jerry Lawler (I mean modern day past his prime Jerry, not old school Memphis workrate Jerry)
PlutarPosted on 02/08/10 at 22:01:22

Steve Armstrong in 1999. Tyson Dux in 2011. Sylvan Grenier in 2016.

...Savio Vega

Jobber #1  :)

While I admit that modern day Lawler was my worst champion (at least as far as world champion) my worst Tag Team champions were Bastion Booger and Snitsky *together known as The Fuglies*

My worst booked champion was Ted DiBiase Sr. back when I was using TNM 6.2 (mainly because I was new to TNM and was GOD awful at it at the time,. just badly booked, not Ted's fault)

I don't think I booked him poorly or anything, but in hindsight, the fact that he was my World champion is a bit silly.

Gran Hamada dominated as my World champion for 10 months in an old GLW circuit.

Or perhaps TNM is programmed to recognize the inherent awesomeness that is Gran Hamada.

Oh, I agree Gran Hamada is all kinds of awesome.  Just not necessarily top man in your circuit awesome.

Waaaay back when in the IWL (circa 1998 or so), I had one of the Japanese mega-heels win the TV title (non-booked circuit). I THINK it was Onita, but for some reason that doesn't seem right... Anyway...

TV Title matches were weekly, as a quick-change routine (vs the main title, which was monthly)

He gets the title, then proceeds to walk out of almost every match (winning the remaineder). This lasted probably a dozen or so cards.

I couldn't get the friggin' belt off of him :-P
(At this point, he had enough heat to main event stuff, so I wanted him to challenge for the main title)

I fianlly put him in a no countout/no DQ match... Which he won :-P

I think I ended up doing a four-way elimination match to get the belt off of him.

After all that, he quit a week before his main title shot :-/

In hindsight, it was a hell of an agle. At the time, I was proverbally ripping my hair out trying to get things right.

Ahh, the fun of non-booked circuits ;->

My worst was problem when Kurrgan won a 14-man battle royale for the IHLW Championship at IHLW One Night Stand 2007.

Yes, it was the knowingly bad IHLW and yes he won it from a battle royale.  The problem was that the battle royale wasn't for a vacant title; RVD was the champion and was in the match.  So I basically had my champion defend his belt in a 14-way elimination match!

I really should run an IHLW One Night Stand 2010...

Just how many different GLWs & GCWs have you ran?

Was going to say this if you didn't.

I think this was all my fault too wasn't it?  IIRC, I won a RUFF pickem and got to chose the challenger for the next RUFF World Title match and Jobber #1 was the obvious gag opponent.

Poor RUFF died so quickly...

This is the only serious push anyone has ever given Steve Armstrong's career in both real life and TNM isn't it? :P

GLW's probably 4 or 5.  GCW, not counting the two current ones (the original on hiatus and OS), I think there was one other one.

You're damned skippy.  :)  Would have been fun to follow up on why he was champ and who he actually was.  :)

What about as one half of the Wild Eyed Southern Boys (with Tracey Smothers) in WCW in their chase against the Freebirds of Michael Hayes and Jimmy "Jam" Garvin?

A1 ... yes the guy from Team Canada ... as my first ECW Champion when I revived the fed a few years back

The first card of an unbooked circuit I have included a tournament to determine the first Northeast Heavyweight Champion.  Jun Akiyama beat Bill Goldberg (by DQ) to win the belt.

Goldberg would have received a title match at the next show, but I promoted him up to the majors (this Northeast territory is part of a farm system).

So instead, Little Guido got the title shot.  He wasn't even in the tournament, but won his first match so was ranked the next highest after Goldberg.

And Guido beat Akiyama to win the belt, and has beat him in a few rematches.  Though the circuit is unbooked, I think I did lower Akiyama's push after he won the title, as I did not prefer him as the top guy, so I suppose it wasn't a huge surprise that Guido won it.  But I still didn't expect it.

Guido's next title defense will be against 911.

Back when I was running one my various WWE circuits, a couple years ago, Jerry Lawler won the Intercontinental Title as a part of the Royal Rumble (which the champion was a part of). From that point on, I was trying to get the belt off him, but eventually stopped the circuit and started another one.
