Number of matches per card

BobJacobsenVER1Posted on 03/28/10 at 00:39:08

So I just really dove into tweakcirc plug in, and under Advanced Options, it says maximum number of matches per card. Does this mean that you could have more then 31 matches? I always thought that 31 was the absolute max. Any info would be great, thanks!

yeah, just don't go too crazy or you'll crash tnm

Cool, thanks! Any suggestions on highest one should go when booking a card? 35? 40? 60? Lol (can you picture the crowd at that show? Lol) I've had cards where I wanted another match or two, so this is great!

I seriously cannot understand why anyone would want 31 matches per card. Has this happened in real life at all?

The closest thing I can come up with, is if you book SHIMMER like they do in real life. Double DVD-tapings on one day, meaning 18-20 matches in front of the same crowd. Even then, I would have booked each DVD as a separate card.

I know its alot of matches, but I sometimes have 32 man tourneys and I would like to break up the rounds with other matches, which if it's 32 men, it in of itself equals 31 matches (16,8,4,2,1). Of course I could book it in a tournament option which counts as one match, but like I said, I like to break up the rounds.

What about back in the 80s when the WWF would tape three weeks of SuperStars or Challenge and hten sometimes also tape the SNME show as well on the same night along with at least 1 or 2 Prime Time matches, and then at least 3-5 dark matches performed only for the audience.  Then again, I guess that totals somewhere around about 30 matches in one night starting at 7pm ending about midnight.  :)  Been there and done that TWICE!!!

ECW would do a month's worth of shows at one taping, wouldn't they? (Not counting non-aired matches, that's 16+ matches + in-ring promos).

And they were only filming for ONE one-hour show per week...

Yeah, it depends on how you would do it, I suppose. So sorry for trying to advocate badwrongfun here.

My preferences (in the old WWF example and the ECW one) would be to separate the show itself into different cards. With a 32-match tournament, I would manually split the matches into different cards, but I see how it can be useful to put them all on one card. There should have been an option to split tournaments over two or more cards.

I agree Rey, having a feature to split tournaments over several cards would be most helpful. I run the King of the Ring as a 32 man tournament that starts the day after my May PPV and ends at the King of the Ring PPV in late June. There is quite a bit of work I have to put into this in Excel to make it work, simply because I have to manually book the matches over the four or five weeks leading up to the PPV
