TNM Picture Pack / DOWNLOAD NOW (Update 7-31-09)

Larry MondelloPosted on 11/06/08 at 16:44:09

UPDATE (7-31-09)

The TNM Picture Pack is available for download at this link:

http://rapidshare.com/files/262079695/TNMPictures.rar

After a period of having difficulty finding a place to host it, I think it has found its permanent home and thus should be around for a long time.

I did some updates to the pack by request and just a few of my own, so if you have the old pack you might want to download the new one.

Over 1600 pictures of wrestlers from the 1970's to the present for you to enjoy and use with the TNM Visualizer plugin.  Enjoy!

I will be taking requests for additions to the pack.  If you have a request, I require that YOU provide a link to a decent picture of the wrestler.  I don't want to have to go on extensive picture hunts.

Instead of adding requests to the pack and re-releasing it, instead I will simply post the completed request here in this thread for immediate download.  After I've done a number of requests I may release an expansion pack to the original, but I don't have any intention of modifying or re-upping the original unless it's just absolutely necessary.

I would also prefer you posted your requests in this thread rather than private message.  Thanks, and enjoy!

-------

Is there a gap in the picture packs that you want to fill in yourself? Well, it's super easy to make your own pictures for the TNM Visualizer that will look just like mine.

1. First, download this:

http://rapidshare.com/files/233881579/makeyourown.rar

2. Extract the two files in the rar. They are 'foreground' and 'background'.

3. Open both files in a photo editing program like Adobe Photoshop or PhotoDeluxe.

4. Find a picture on the net that you want to use and hit the Print Screen button to copy it.

5. In Photoshop (or whatever you use), paste the copied screen into the 'foreground'. Drag the picture with your mouse until it's centered like you want it.

6. Add a white border to the 'foreground' once the picture has been properly centered.

7. Copy the 'foreground' and paste it on top of 'background'. It should automatically center on the background.

8. Save as a .JPG file to the proper folder.

You're done with your picture. It's very simple and once you get the hang of it, it shouldn't take you more than 30 seconds or so to do one.

I look forward to seeing your additions to the picture pack.

Original post:

I am currently working on a large picture pack that I will intend to make available for download to the TNM community. I realize anyone can get pictures off OWoW for the TNM Visualizer plugin, but I wanted to make something special. The pictures will be the best quality I can find, formatted with a nice border and scaled so that they fit the Visualizer with no stretching. It will be a pretty large pack as it will contain wrestlers from the 1980's all the way up to the current date.

Sounds cool. It will save on download time, will there be any puro, lucha, and indy wrestlers or just mainstream WWE,TNA, ECW, WWF, WCW, NWA, AWA, etc.?
PlutarPosted on 11/06/08 at 18:19:23

This is relevant to my interests.
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/06/08 at 21:50:58

Right now I'm focusing mainly on the American stage.  There are some Japanese and Mexican stars in there though, especially the ones who played a part in the American scene.
PlutarPosted on 11/06/08 at 21:52:49

As project director I'm gonna have to recommend you focus on Indy, Puro and Lucha for this one. M'kay?
JakePosted on 11/06/08 at 23:10:39

Sounds awesome. I'm sure we'd all love to help out if necessary.
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/06/08 at 23:51:55

The pictures are easy to make - just time consuming due to the massive amounts of wrestlers that will be included in it.  So if there's anyone I've missed it'll be easy to add them to the pack yourselves.  My pack will be focusing mainly on mainstream America with some indy, lucha, and puroresu thrown in.  But I'm sure the TNM community would appreciate anyone going to the effort to make their own packs for these other genres.
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/07/08 at 17:03:23

The pack is growing huge, so I think what I'll probably do is separate it into segments.

1 - Stars of the 80's
2 - Stars of the 90's
3 - Stars of the 21st Century
4 - Stars from Mexico
5 - Stars from Japan
6 - Tag Teams
7 - Ladies of Wrestling
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/09/08 at 01:09:55

Just for an update, I've been working on this pretty hardcore for the last few days.  It's mammoth, so it's going to take a while before I can actually get anything released I think.  I'm going to try to put out the 1980's pack first and follow it with 1990's.
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/15/08 at 08:12:00

In the way of updates, the graphic pack is going very well.  Contrary to prior updates, I won't be breaking it up into eras or releasing it in sections.  It's all going to come out at the same time.

Right now the pack has got a little over 1,100 pictures in it.  I'm expecting that it will have around 1,400 when it's done.  Most of the current and more mainstream workers are in there.  It's just  a matter now of tracking down some of the more obscure ones which are harder to find good pictures for.

I'm expecting to have it out some time in the middle of next week.
Danny BonaducePosted on 11/16/08 at 15:04:18

Can't wait: although I am using pretty much only fantasy wrestlers as of now, I will find some use for it, even fantasy guys need pics. For the most part, though, i just steal...er..borrow the pics from TEW if it suits the gimmick/personality
SnDvls316Posted on 11/17/08 at 21:17:28

you know if you download the picture pack(s) for TEW they fit real nice too if you don't want to do all the extra work.

Yeah I have those but I wanted bigger pictures instead of just head shots.  For the most part I've been successful in finding good pictures to use.  For some I had to use black and white ones or more grainy ones - mostly the more obscure or older workers.  But at this point it's too late for me to not to do a lot of extra work.  It's almost finished.
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/18/08 at 08:06:16

TNM Wrestler Picture Pack is ready for its first release. There are 1,651 pictures total. Wrestlers contained in the pack range from the 1970's all the way to the current date.

Many wrestlers have multiple pictures. I tried to get a different picture for each major look/gimmick change. Example: Sting. There is surfer Sting with a few different paint jobs, babyface Sting when he started growing his hair out, crow Sting, Wolfpack Sting, crow Sting with short hair, and TNA Sting.

The general focus of the picture pack is the American scene with a smattering of lucha and puroresu. I'll no longer have unlimited internet access after Thursday and just didn't have time to really dig deep into the international scene.

Enjoy, and it's likely that in the future I'll release some updates. But anyone who wants to add their own to the pack is welcome to do so.

Thanks Larry. This was much needed for TNM.

Awesome work.
ROH, Indy, and Puro Mark69Posted on 11/19/08 at 03:00:57

Amazing. I would have liked a few more women wreslters, but overall awesome.
PlutarPosted on 11/19/08 at 05:27:19

I commend you for your excellent work. Would you be willing to be given requests, like a list of wrestlers? Or maybe a tutorial so we could make our own?
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/19/08 at 05:53:44

I'm not against requests, but the fact of the matter is I won't have the ability or the time to do much with them after this week.  So I would strongly encourage anyone who wishes to fill in the gaps themselves.  It's VERY easy to do.

1. Download this:

http://rapidshare.com/files/165205194/makeyourown.rar

Someone on here posted one, I think it was called Paint.Net, but I'm not 100% if thats the name.

There's always GIMP...
ROH, Indy, and Puro Mark69Posted on 11/19/08 at 16:27:41

BTW Larry, I just noticed a mistake in one of your pics, but it's no biggie. The picture of Bulldog Bob Brown is actually Bob Geigel, his former tag team partner back in the day

You had the guy on the left as Bob Brown in your photo of him, while Bob Brown is the guy on the right in the photo. Either you made a mistake or the site where you got it made the mistake, but it's no big deal.
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/19/08 at 17:04:55

Thanks for letting me know.  It was the website's mistake,  unfortunately.  'll use your picture to correct it, and hopefully this will be the only error of that nature.  Thanks.
ROH, Indy, and Puro Mark69Posted on 11/19/08 at 23:40:56

How big should the pic itself be (excluding the bg and fg)?
PlutarPosted on 11/19/08 at 23:43:59

In the ones I've made they're all under 75kb, larry's are all under 40kb though. I wonder how I can make mine smaller...

I was not talking file size I was talking in terms of the physical size of the pic itself without the background and foreground so I would know how to fit them in there, when I paste them.
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/20/08 at 02:39:40

You're going about it different than I did, but maybe your program is just different.

Foreground dimensions:

Width 254 pixels
Height 303 pixels

That's OK, I found out what to do on my own, and I will actually release some pics of my own added to yours (to avoid any confusion, I've capitalized the first and last name (if there is a last name) to distinguish between mine and yours. I'm just adding some lucha, puro, and indy guys, as well as a few different up-to-date pics of people you already have in there: such as Sheik Abdul Bashir (I will also call them by their gimmick name as opposed to their realname, or by a previous gimmick)

Basically what I did was I opened up one of your images and cropped the background and foreground out. It turned out well for Cheerleader Melissa.
Larry MondelloPosted on 11/20/08 at 19:35:01

Awesome.  I look forward to seeing your results.
PlutarPosted on 11/20/08 at 19:39:10

I am also working on some additions, mostly puro, indie, lucha, obscure internationals, however mine will definitly not look as good as yours. I'm using Paint.net and well, it doesn't auto center... So I'm having to place the white borders manually. Also, I decided to not have the foreground pictures be the same uniform size.

That's for your additions Plutar:

Now an update to mine:

Added the following so far: (in non-aphabetical order AKA Random)

Abdul Bashir
Frankie Lancaster
Pete Doherty
Chapartia Asari
A few obscure indy guys that I don't even think have exports but you could probably find some use for especially if you rin fantasy circuits
Porkchop Cash
Sailor White (Moondog King's alter-ego in Canada)
Cheerleader Melissa
The Can-Am Connection
The Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark)
Solomon Grundy
Jake Hager (Jack Swagger before he was Jack Swagger)

More to come...

As I don't have internet at home anymore and will thus not be able to maintain my paid rapidshare account, I believe that the picture pack will be in need of different hosting once my rapidshare account expires.  If anyone has any options available to do so, let me know and I'll modify the original post in the thread to reflect that new URL.

Thanks.

How about if you send them to TNMUK?
Snabbit888Posted on 11/28/08 at 05:26:26

Anyone else have a problem with these pictures not being the right size for their Visualizer? It tells me on all of them the aspect ratio is off.

Any way to fix this?

Nevermind.  I figured it out.  You can't have the pictures in sub folders like the .rar file has them set.  Noted.

hbkid718Posted on 12/06/08 at 06:14:53

These pictures are awesome, but there are a few wrestlers who you don't have that I use in TNM, as well as 3 fantasy wrestlers. I tried to make them myself using GIMP, following the directions you gave, but I can't figure it out. Is it possible if I send you the pictures, you can make them for me? If you don't want me to send them to you, you can always go to my site and copy the pictures I have on the Roster Page. The wrestlers I need pictures of are:

Brian Lee, Darren the Dangerous, Dave Harris, Frank Shamrock, Hollywood Cooldude, Kimona Wanalaya, Linda Miles, Michael Modest, Robbie Brookside, Ron Waterman, Scott Vick, Scotty 2 Hotty, Stacy Carter (The Kat), & Reckless Youth Tom Carter. If you need their pics: Harris, Linda, Modest, & Waterman are on the DZW Roster Page, and the rest are on the WCWF Roster Page. Here is the link to my site: http://www25.brinkster.com/hbkid718/wcwf/index.htm
Larry MondelloPosted on 12/12/08 at 18:18:38

It's not really convenient for me to make them anymore because the only place I have internet is at work now.  Making the graphics is just a matter of layering a picture of the wrestler over a black background.  You don't have to follow my procedure exactly.  Just play around with Photoshop or whatever program you have and it's pretty easy to do.

Just as an update, the webmaster of TNMUK told me that he would try to host the graphic pack, but wasn't sure if it would be doable given its immense size.  So if that's not a workable situation, anyone with a rapidshare account is welcome to upload it and I'll modify the original post with the new link.

More of a community assistance post than anything here ...

Larry, I have plenty of web space available to me if you want me to host the picture file. No download or traffic limits, no catches .. merely an open offer should you wish to accept. Maybe we could get Peter to link it to TNM UK too.
