Themed PPVs

crazyarbyPosted on 09/21/09 at 06:43:09

The big deal now is The wwe doing themed PPVs.
I think the OGs Survivor Series, King of The Ring and Royal Rumble got it right, where Hell in a Cell and Breaking Point are a little much.
Do you have any faviorte themed PPVs you use?
I have three.  I have an all cage PPV, Caged Madness (long Before lockdown), with all matches in a cage, but most of them are team elimination matches. And the Main event is a ten man cage battle royal where ten go in and try to get out.  Last man in the cage is eliminated and the nine go back and do it again until eight remain and so on until there is a winner, and he gets a title shot at the next PPV which is all Falls-count-anywhere matches called Uncaged.
But the one I really like and works well in TNM7 is called Tag Team Hell.  Partners are chosen at random (like Battlebowl) and a one night tournament takes place.  The team that wins gets a threeway match against the World Champion at the next PPV.  This one sparks some great matches that I would have never thought of and elevates some wrestlers who I might not have elevated to world champ status.
 What are your themed PPVs?
I want to steal all the best ideas I can.   ;)

Ha ha.  Yeah that 10 man cage match is a bit much, but whatever makes you happy. :)

An e-fed I was in years ago had an event I thought was cool called Building Brawl.  Essentially a pinfall/submission falls-count-anywhere battle royal.  The realistic logistics of that event would be annoying for fans in the arena and at home alike, but it was one of my favorite events every year.

Not to mention the camera crew and the guys in the production truck when the talent decides to go into business for themselves and not go to the preset locations and instead venture into unlit and uncamera'ed areas of the building.  :)

Yeah my friend dubbed it the Musical Chairs Cage Match and it was always fun to write up

I'm suprised ECW didn't do anything like the building brawl.
