TNM Show Profile Suite Released!

CarlzillaPosted on 04/16/09 at 03:56:08

Ever wanted your show to open up with a logo and it's own theme music?

Do you want to add arena information to your cards?

Well now you can.

DOWNLOAD:
http://www.mediafire.com/?zd1t3n4wttn

Due to the use of .dll files to play music, this can not be installed via the unzipping to the NEWPLUGS folder method. Just run the installer and select your TNM7 Directory and the installer will do the rest!

EDIT: 4/16/09 - 10:00pm(est)
I have fixed the Vista error (hopefully).

Carl,

I'm getting this error dialog box:

"Show Profile Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I am using Windows XP on this computer vice Microsoft Vista on my other computer.
CarlzillaPosted on 04/16/09 at 07:46:16

Can you take a screen shot or PM me a cut and paste of what the error message says?

Also, trying installing this:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7&displaylang=en

and see if that helps.

All my programs will require at least the .net framework 3.0 to be present on your computer.

Hey,

I'm getting the same error message for the Profile Editor.

I also tried installing from the link you provided to see if that would help but I still get the same error. PROFED is installed in my TNM and is listed in the plugins.

Under "More Infomantion" it says

I'm using Windows Vista 32 Bit.

I'm having no problems what so ever so far.

Carl, where did you get your numbers for stadium capacity?  I'm just curious.
Drunken FoolPosted on 04/16/09 at 16:40:27

Show Opener has stopped working, Windows Will Check For a Solution Message comes up on mine. The Profile Editor does the same thing
CarlzillaPosted on 04/16/09 at 18:49:32

It's based on the event size, a set percent of free/comp tickets, and a small bit on chance.
CarlzillaPosted on 04/16/09 at 18:52:41

I'll look into the errors, but it runs on both my XP and Vista computers, so I have no idea why it's giving you guys a hard time.
MamushiPosted on 04/16/09 at 22:39:13

The problem I'm having is that when I try to load the profile it says...

"Empty path name is not legal."

I don't believe I'm missing any of the steps from the instructions but I've tried with two different installs and different circuits within the installs and I always end up with that popping up when I attempt to select the show profile at the beginning of the card.
CarlzillaPosted on 04/17/09 at 00:56:52

Are you selecting a show profile when it loads at the beginning of the show? If you don't select a profile, you'll get an error because it doesn't know what to load.

You need to create a profile for each brand of show you want to run.

Using the WWE for an example, you'd need to create profiles for Raw, Smackdown and ECW...plus any PPV you wanted. Then you could select that profile each time a RAW was run.

I'm pretty sure I safeguarded against empty mp3 and logo names, but if you selected a profile with an empty music or logo trying filling in a logo or themesong and trying it again. If that works let me know and I'll fix the problem.

If that doesn't work, I really don't know what the issue is.
MamushiPosted on 04/17/09 at 01:19:17

when i was trying it out i was following each step in the manual doc (to make sure i didn't accidently flub anything up) after a couple attempts it occured to me that maybe the empty music and logo fields were the problem, so i filled them just with a random .mp3 and .jpg to test it out and ran across the same problem.

i'll try it a few more times later tonight or tomorrow and let you know though.
CarlzillaPosted on 04/17/09 at 01:22:32

Strange.

I'm going to try it out and see if I can replicate the error.
CarlzillaPosted on 04/17/09 at 01:29:59

I've tried everything I can think of, and I can't get it to duplicate.

The bolded section is exactly why programming for Vista is such a pain in the ass. It throws that error for THOUSANDS of different problems...and then gives you minimal information as to what really went wrong.

Some people have done so little as recompiling the program to get it to work, while other never figure out the problem.

Vista eats a bag of balls.

I'm going to change to another way of dealing with music playback and I'll upload a second installer in a little bit.
CarlzillaPosted on 04/17/09 at 04:02:21

I changed the music playback routine, for everyone that was getting errors, please try re-downloading.
MamushiPosted on 04/17/09 at 14:57:24

After downloading the newest version, I get this message just when trying to even open the profile editor.

"Show Profile Editor has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost."
CarlzillaPosted on 04/17/09 at 19:34:53

I don't know, it works for me, on every computer I've tried it on.

I'm out of ideas as what might be the problem.
CarlzillaPosted on 04/22/09 at 06:15:40

So, I just thought of something that may help with people using vista not being able to run this program.

Make sure you have administrator rights when the program is run.

Go to the PROFED.EXE, right click, go to Properties. Then click the compatability tab. Check "run this program as an administrator".

Do the same for OPENER.EXE, and ARENAED.EXE.
