Problem with the random wrestler generator

Drunken FoolPosted on 03/17/09 at 00:50:52

I noticed that whenever a name that has a foreign accent or character is used, the generator generates said names in some sort of weird characters instead of the one that is supposed to be in the name.

Benoît Broum for example gets saved and comes out as

Benot Broum in TNM

Yep, this is a problem with DOS and Windows not being totally compatible. I tried to take out any of the strange characters I noticed, but obviously I missed some. There is no fix to this short of replacing the characters in the data files used for generation.

You know what's weird? I find that regular French or Hispanic accents work well, but other foreign accents don't at all

Possibly because the use of tildes, graves and acutes are more commonly seen by English users in borrowed words than say circumflexes, carons, and kroužeks. Possibly more commonly used in general by languages that use a latin based alphabet.
