TNM Vortex Update

ROH, Indy, NHL,and Puro FAN69Posted on 02/27/09 at 03:33:00

I'm currently working on a project (not a plugin, or a program), but I'm working on a site right now that will hopefully be kind of like a TNMUKesque site but for fantasy wrestlers only), any suggestions are welcome, the link is in my sig

I think an important thing to have would be information on the guys, like a short bio and suggested theme music.

People go download real life wrestlers because hey I saw that guy on a tape/YouTube or whatever.  You've seen the guy and now you want to use him.  Or you're running a real life circuit and need some guys who are on the roster in real life.

Fantasy wrestlers are different: instead of finding a guy you need it's usually more about "hey this guy looks like a cool character maybe I'll try him in  my circuit".  The export needs to be the proverbial YouTube video as well as the data.

Feel free to post a link to the Random Wrestler Creator on there if you want. The easiest way to do it would be to post a link back to the thread, that way if I update it, they can get the latest version.

Consider it done, won't be today though, but I will do it as soon as I can

Yes, I'll be using Carlzilla's Bio Manager program to do out bios on the wrestlers so people would have a better idea of what they are getting.

I will also accept fantasy wrestlers from other people as well, as long as there are no move name changes (if there are move name changes, they they must include a readme telling what names have been changed. Not everyone wants to have both the powerbomb and the power bomb in their move list. I know, I'm guilty of changing move names myself, but when I do so, I usually tell people about them beforehand, same with added moves. Oh, and if there are added moves, they must be real moves, and not fake moves. So no ZZZ demon crunch suplexes and whatnot

Although you didn't specifically say you where going to, please do not post a link to the Bio Manager, it's still in beta testing. I have zero problems with you using it, but I still want to make sure it's got a few bugs as possible before release, and there are a few things I'd like to add/change before an official release.

Thanks.

Also this sounds like a cool project, I like fantasy wrestlers.

I'm not going to post a link to the Bio Manager, since I know that it's not a truly completed project yet.

Thanks :)

If you can think of anything you'd like to see added to it before release shoot me a PM.

This didn't get very far.

I've actually put the site on hold as of now, but not the project itself. Geocities is a pain to work with nowadays, so until I get it straightened out I will post bios on the exports page on this forum, and upload the exports to mediafire

Try 1stfreehosting. That's what I use when I need website stuff.

So far, no problem, at least with the opening page
Drunken FoolPosted on 03/11/09 at 18:37:21

I went back to the geocities site, and finally am starting to get the hang of it, I just uploaded the new index file to replace the old one, and will work on the exports (wrestlers) page sometime later today or tonight (my timezone) I designed a logo using the cooltext site for my opening page. The foreign objects, and gimmick match pages will be added at a later date though as they are not a priority as of yet.

The colors are a little... on the "make my eyes bleed" side.

At any rate the red text is hard to read over that background.

Updated: new background and text colors (the background was only temporary anyway, and this one may be as well, but it's a bit better than the last one)

Slow, slow, slow. And it shouldn't be for a site with just text and a white background.

And it seems I can't go elsewhere.

I also got a syntax error in row 2.

EDIT: BMP doesn't work as a web background.

It only shows locally and even if it did work, it would be WAY too big.

Convert it to a png.

Actually that's the old link, the geocities link is is my sig

I should have posted the new link separately, but here goes:

http://www.geocities.com/cewfan/index.html

Thanks for the input, I just used Gimp to save it as a png. I thought I uploaded a gif file to the site, because I had a gif of the same file, but I guess I selected the wrong file without realizing it.
