Motivation

Atom_BombPosted on 06/08/08 at 03:34:52

Lately I've been finding myself having the same problem over and over. I can think of some fun ideas, feuds/storylines/gimmicks etc. that I'd love to see happen in my TNM, but the problem comes with actually getting it all done.

Do you ever have a movivation problem too? Mabye I'm just being too complicated and I should start running smaller circuits, or writing simpler card summaries.

Any ideas you have, anything youve done to get over the lack of motivation would be a great help. Thanks alot.

Well, you've got the right idea. Sometimes you just need to start a circuit in a completly different style than what you're comfortable with.  If you're used to doing a pseudo WWE circuit, then do an indie circuit, or try your hand at a puro or lucha style. Try using different wrestlers than you are used to. Or a different time period. You might not stick with it for the long run, but it can present a new challenge.

Alternatively, I find that I greatly benefit from taking a break from TNM and/or wrestling in general for a few months. Then whenever I start up TNM, I'm bursting with new ideas.

I Agree, I always to throwback 80 style feds but I lost my motivation a couple of times so I did something that was  different and went with a current wrestling circuit promoted like Pro Boxing not sure if anyone is reading but it has opened up some new ideas for me and it's something you don't see much around these boards.

Like has been reiterated here, I find a nice break usually does the trick in getting new motivation.  If nothing good is coming to you, take a week or so and play something totally different and then come back to TNM.  Usually works for me.

I' going to assume you primarilly watch WWE and/or TNA.

Take a break from TNM, and go watch old wrestling: NWA, ECW, USWA, WCCW, etc. Try to find stuff like bloodriotzero/beforeitsucked's "chronologically corrent" wrestling vids and watch a few "weeks" or "months" of episodes... EVEN IF YOU SAW THEM WHEN THEY WERE NEW.

You might just catch a couple of references or angles you didn't notice at first, and that may get you saying "Hmmm... I could use that"

well youtube took down the bloodriotzero videos, not sure about the beforeitsucked what was that channel?

Click bloodriotzero's webpage on YouTube. It'll link to his page on DailyMotion. His channel THERE is mostly beforeitsucked's videos.
JerokuPosted on 06/10/08 at 04:11:42
