TNM7SE; Yes or No?

HHHWrestlingLegendPosted on 02/11/08 at 18:11:39

Hey guys. Been a while since I made a post but have been keeping up with everything and there are some awesome feds and such going on from the TNM Message Board users.

I am one of the guys that have been using TNM since the beginning of 1996 but have never really stayed glued to TNM for more than a few months at a time. It's kinda a thing that is play for a while and then leave it alone for a while for me.

Being the cheapskate that I am, I never purchased the TNM7SE when it came out. A buddy of mine bout the original TNM7 and we have all just used it ever since.

I am in one of my moods where I am ready to sit down a get serious and start running a good TNM Fed and as I sit here looking at all the new things in TNM7SE I just have to ask you guys for your opinion. As a guy who only plays TNM on and off as I do, is it worth paying $30 or whatever it is to get the Second Edition? I mean, seriously? I just can't really decide.

And also, a long time ago I remember seeing a topic on this board where people were saying that they sent the payment for their Reg. Codes but never recieved them for the longest time and I am wondering what the time window is right now from the time I hand over my money.

Just a couple of thoughts. Somebody once told me if you have TNM7 Original there was a price break on Second Edition but my TNM7 is in my buddie's name so it would do no good.

Or, do you think eventually it will go the way of TNM6.2 and end up in the Free DownLoad files?

Any help is appreciated guys. Keep up the awesome feds!!

Well as awesome as you are for admitting you have a pirated copy of TNM in the first place, just look at the features and decide if they are things you want to have access to.

Of course, what you really should do is just pay for your own copy anyway and stop pirating software.  ::)

Since I know you're talking about my circuit (AWE ... or maybe not), I'll thank you.

I guess the real answer depends on you. Do you have the bucks to spend? Do you run the game more than a month at a time? Does the trial session not equal enough time for you to "get it out of your system"?

I would say to download the SE version and give the trial a go to see whether you like it enough. Try a few of the plug-ins, too. then decide.

And then there is that ...

Nothing was pirated fellas  ;)  My buddy had TNM7 on his computer and then four other of us had TNM6.2.  We just all had our own feds on 6.2 but spent alot of time on his and finally a couple of years ago he bought a new computer and gave me his old computer, which obviously included TNM7 and that is how I got it.  Those guys have outgrown TNM now and I am left as the only one still playing it.

Sorry for the confusion, but thanks for the advice anyway.

Alot of weird stuff happening with TNM7SE.  I downloaded the four-week trial version and then downloaded TNMDIAG and the ALLPLuGS Export.

First of all, ALLPLUGS says that they are all expired which is wierd because I have downloaded this stuff on my laptop that I have had for only a week.  I have never had them downloaded on the either of the desktop PCs with TNM7.  So I don't know what that is all about.

That's no big deal though, that much trouble with them already tells me not to order them anyway for the money but there is one thing that bothers me and that is with the Interview Plugin.  I use this on TNM First Edition on the other computer and love it!  It makes cards take on a new life but
I have downloaded it on the Laptop with Second Edition and when I schedule one on a card, it reaches that point and just closes.  When I went into the PlugIns tab on the main page it said it was Corrupt and deleted it.  Now I can't even get it to re-install.  I ran the TNMDIAG and according to it, everything is just peachy which obviously isn't so.

Any help would be great!  Thanks again!

*facepalm... just facepalm*

I didn't realize that particular plugin let cards take on "a whole new life" since it just gives you room to add your own text in between matches, but ok.  I guess it's still handy if you don't have tweak and aren't doing anything with your cards beyond having TNM generate an HTML tree or just leaving them in your TNM.  As for the problem you're having I've never had that problem or heard of that problem.  Try downloading the plugin again and installing it again (And make sure that you transfer ALL of the plugin's files to the NEWPLUGS folder.

I ran the TNMDIAG and according to it, everything is just peachy which obviously isn't so.
That's because the plugin was corrupted and removed (according to you) so if it was removed there is nothing there for TNMDIAG to find a problem with.  I've never really used TNMDIAG so I'm not entirely sure it will detect problems in plugins (Someone else will have to answer that for you)
