How many board regulars...

Rick GarrardPosted on 03/06/08 at 15:05:18

How many board regulars can't get to the forums because they have the old address bookmarked (the yabb address without the 2 at the end)?

I know I wasn't able to get here for almost a week until TNMUK posted the link to the TNM7 site, since tnm7.com redirection service is also not working.  It's almost like Oliver forgot to pay a bill for service beginning in March, even though the domain is registered for a while longer according to the whois service (6 months more I believe).

Has anyone contacted Oliver to inform him of these problems with the site?
91Posted on 03/06/08 at 18:49:14

I actually E-Mailed a bunch of regulars (those who haven't hidden their addresses) with the alternate address and told them to pass it on. Meantime, as far as I can tell, it's just you, me, KooS (obviously) and Thnikkaman who have been smart enough to figure it out. :P
rey619Posted on 03/06/08 at 19:03:49

Hey, I'm here! Too bad if the boards are going extinct...
JustinCaseYouForgotPosted on 03/06/08 at 19:10:47

Thanx for sending me the link. I was wondering what was going on.

I can't even get the regular TNM homepage to open.
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/06/08 at 20:14:32

I asked Oliver about it on Monday ... he sent me the link ... it was weird .... me and King of Old School were the only one's here
91Posted on 03/06/08 at 21:18:48

I don't even want to think of what you two might have gotten up to whilse we were all gone.
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/07/08 at 00:35:12

what happens on the boards stays on the boards ...

and we can get Jake to clean up afterwards  :-/
Rick GarrardPosted on 03/07/08 at 02:25:25

I only figured it out cause of Peter. Someone didn't email me... Ya bastard. ;D :-* :-* :-* :o :o :o

This board isn't going extinct... not gonna let that happen. I really do wonder though why the tnm7.com redirection service isn't working correctly. Someone hack it perhaps?  One of those millions and millions of unknown bot users maybe?  At least the change will stop for a little while the constant add on of idiots who never post and only troll for email addresses.
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:14:56

if you were to shake these trolls, would their hair go all "Don King" and do they fit on top of my pencil?
Rick GarrardPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:19:10

either that or they would claim to be Anubis.  :)
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:21:01

I always pictured Anubis as the horse from Gumby ... only with issues
Rick GarrardPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:22:22

so he's Pokey?  Um.. ok.
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:23:16

think of Pokey on Roid Rage
Rick GarrardPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:29:11

so he's Jose Canseco?
JeepGuyPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:29:59

I found it through TNM.UK and passed that info on to Masked_Texan, since I had his e-mail addy.
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:29:59

can he catch a baseball with his head?
Rick GarrardPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:31:30

Well... Jose surely didn't... that is one of the best home runs of all time.
JeepGuyPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:33:00

If this one shuts down, is there somewhere else we can go? Other boards worth a damn? Maybe something new?

It would be a real shame if there were nowhere else to post our circuit cards and make fun of Jake.
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/07/08 at 03:37:36

I was playing a baseball board game when I was a kid ... you rolled a dice and then used a card to see what happened with the at bat ... one of potential outcomes when Canseco was in the outfield was a homerun off his head ... hilarious

I believe that Oliver owns the server space that they are on... currently the yabb2 address is the backup server space, much like the new link to the actual tnm7 website, which is also at a backup addy.  Smart men back up their sites... Oliver is a freaking genius.

well apparently due to the roids the only hitting Jose was doing to her was with his fists.

Same with me. I figured I'd wait a few days to see if the "gunter glieben glauchen globen" error got fixed since I didn't have Oliver's address.

Glad I thought to check TNMUK. I figured the King would be on top of things...

I remember Strat-O-Matic though I briefly played the football game, not the baseball version.

For baseball, Cadaco's All-Star Baseball, SPI Baseball and a homebrew dicegame were the childhood picks. As I got a little older, Extra Innings became the game of choice. I still have several of my EI copies packed away.
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/09/08 at 07:45:33

I have always loved baseball in any form. Strat-O-Matic was tops for me in board games, but I also had a "home-brewed" version of baseball that I played as a kid, using baseball cards.

Once I got my original Nintendo, it was Baseball Stars all the way!!

I have recently been playing MLB 2K7 on the "360" which I have been enjoying as well.

Baseball is king of sports in my house. My wife and I love going to games, we have good discussions on the Yankees(my team) and the Giants and A's (hers.)

Don't know how this thread became about Baseball, but uh well, could talk about it for hours.

On 03/09/08 at 07:45:33, Thnikkaman wrote:Don't know how this thread became about Baseball, but uh well, could talk about it for hours.
This wasn't so much a discussion on baseball but rather the baseball games we liked/played that caught my interest.

Though I grew up in NY, I've always been an A's fan. Never liked the Yankees and still don't.
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/09/08 at 08:08:44

interesting because I grew up in San Jose (1 hour south of Oakland) was an A's fan, but when we moved (before the internet was widely available) I became a Yankees fan (the only team you can really follow in Oregon and Montana in the mid 90's)

still pull for the A's ... their games are cheaper than the Giants so we go to more A's games

and since we are moving the Fremont, and so are the A's, I guess I'll be paying even more attention to them

oh yeah, wrestling is great ... I can access the board any time again ... kinda miss Jake ... go Yankees

Well hopefully Oliver will send out a mass email letting everyone know. Just looking at the lack of board activity, it's obvious the traffic is way down.

By the way, 500th post!

And go As (I like Billy Beane).

Wow I thought TNM was finished. I AIMed Nabbs and Phantom to see if they new anything and they didn't I went to Rick's homepage to see if posted anything nothing. I even searched google to see if anyone posted anythig. Then I thought about going to TNMUK to see if it had any updates and low and behold I found the link.

I wish some one woulda emailed me but hay at least I found it...or maybe that was why it was hiddden in the first place?? To get rid of the duck...

I am a longtime A's fan. I've seen them at the top of the heap and all the way at the bottom as well as all of the places inbetween.

I have to say I am sick and tired of the cheap owners and especially tired of Billy Beane. Yeah, the guy has a good eye for talent but his relentless need to "prove" that his way of doing it cheaply is really annoying.

How many times do we have to see young talent brought up through the system and when they start getting to the point of deserving some real money, they are shipped off for picks and cash or lost through free agency?

No one says they have to spend like the Yankees or the Mets but damn give me a contender not a team of prospects and a couple of beyond their years guys with a year or two left held together by tape.

Hey,

Don't worry - I'm not closing up shop. It's just that I'm in a precarious legal situation right now with contracts with WWE and UFC and my lawyer has advised me to take TNM7.COM down until he has ironed things out with WWE.
