I hate it when

You have people quit three cards before a major event.

I lost Stevie Richards, CW Champ and his challenger, Shannon Moore in one swoop.

Oh well.  I guess thats what makes TNM great.  I will have to do something.

Just go into e-mail mode, hire them back, and go back to regular mode. I don't usually do this trick myself, unless I have them as major participants in an angle/feud. As for people quitting on your three days before a big event (PPV or supercard). Yeah it happened to me lots of times. and people quitting on me right after winning a major championship. Hell I even had a guy quit on me after just one card (lets just say his initials were RKO)
King MunshunPosted on 09/25/07 at 14:41:52

You could also do the '~' trick to hire them back for one special card just to get the belt off the champ.

You can also force a titleholder who is no longer with the circuit to still work.

When picking match participants, you press a key to access your list of current title holders ("i"?) and then you can select any titleholder, even if they're out of the circuit.
Rick GarrardPosted on 09/26/07 at 23:03:26

yes it is the "i" key.

my favorite trick is using the edit contracts option on the tweakcir plugin ... I use this for all my hiring (and if someone quits that I still want around, i just edit their contract ... had to do this with HHH once)

then again, since I am running a WWE fed and a TNA fed, if someone leaves one, I just sign them to the other one

I've been lucky so far but it is early in both of my circuits. Don't know how I'd handle someone quitting - if I'd fiddle with TweakCirc and force them back to work or if I'd run with it and use that as an angle.

I had my Tag Team Title situation sorted up until WrestleMania in my WWF circuit...and now someone vital to the whole scenario has quit!! Violently pissed off. I love this game.

Bastards!

I have to agree ... I love this game.

I recently had started running an Oliver style WWE Raw circuit and had Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes win the tag titles 3 times in the first year TNM time. At the Royal Rumble 2009 they dropped the titles to William Regal and his mystery partner (Who turned out to be The Great Khali, thanks "m" key). Holly and Rhodes were then the final two in the rumble match. Holly eliminated Rhodes and was scheduled to fight Randy Orton at WrestleMania 2009, but first I was gonna have a heel Cody Rhodes fight him at No Way Out working as Orton's henchman. But upon writing it into the card notes about the Rhodes heel turn assaulting Holly after being tossed, Holly upped and quit effective immediately after the Royal Rumble concluded. I was pissed it was easily the best angle I had heading into WM 09.
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/09/08 at 02:14:16

you know, injuries can be just as annoying as wrestlers quitting ... I just ran a Saturday Night's Main Event and lost Samoa Joe for 6 months ... I had him scheduled to work a match against The Rock at WM 24. Very tempting to edit the injury so it never happened, but in reality, its the unexpected that I go for. Still sucks tho cuz I had the build up all planned out and was about to start it this Friday.
pszPosted on 03/09/08 at 14:59:42

Yeah, but injuries like that open up SOOO many doors...

HBK could have "paid off" Joe's opponent that night to injur him...

Joe could be doing a heel turn and "ducking" HBK (or is already a heel, that works too)

If you go the WWE route, you have Joe come out during an interview and start saying how he's not into wrestling anymore/lost his smile/doesn't have the drive/etc and then when he's healthy, he's booked to interfere against HBK/whoever injured him

Lossa things work well with injury ;->
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/09/08 at 23:29:05

I already have Joe blaming Rey Mysterio as the one responsible for his injury in their triple threat match from last night ... this hopefully sets up Rey v. Joe at after Summerslam when Joe gets back

the real issue I have now is what to do with The Rock for WM since his "return to the WWE" match was going to be against Joe at WM ... now I got nothing for Rock to do
Rick GarrardPosted on 03/10/08 at 00:02:09

open challenge to ANYONE man enough to face him.  :)
pszPosted on 03/10/08 at 02:26:53

That works.

Or have Joe "hire" The Rock as a replacement, and set up a turn later on.

(And no, I don't know where HBK came from in my last post :-P)
ThnikkamanPosted on 03/10/08 at 04:06:15

I like the open challenge idea ... can't believe I didn't think of it because I have used it before, but not for a while ...

thanks for all the help guys
