Contracts for Circuit With Weekly Show?

JerokuPosted on 03/08/08 at 22:15:35

What is the best way to setup contracts when hiring people on a circuit with 1 weekly show and 1 supercard at the end of the month? Using tweak circuit and setting up the card modifier or what? Also how many cards do you hire people for since even 52 cards with 5 a month isnt even a whole year.

tweak circuit is the best option for what you want.

I usually hire top talent for 12 months (a month for me is 1 or 2 cards a week plus on PPV Supercard.) I will hire new talent or talent I am not sure how to use for 6 months.

I'm thinking my best bet is to set the card multiplier by 4 or 5 and then hire the low end talent to 6 cards and the upper talent to 12.For those who do something like I'm talking about how do you use it for months that only have 4 of a given day?

For example say my circuit starts March 08. If I have a weekly show every Wednesday and I set it  the card multiplier to 5, wouldn't the 5th card not be until the first card in April? However if I did 4 and started on say Saturday March 1  the 4 cards would be up and there still would be another week in the month?

Any ideas?

well, you said you were doing 1 weekly show and 1 monthly show... that means you are running either 5 or 6 cards a month depending on the month of the year.

Usually, in your schedules case, it's 5 (4 weekly and 1 monthly), 5, 6 (5 weekly and 1 monthly), 5, 5, 6, 5, 5, 6, 5, 5, 6 for one year giving you 52 weekly shows and 12 monthly shows. (Granted, these cards may not always fall within the proper calendar month, but this format will keep you closest to a real calendar based on my experiences with TNM.)

So in your case, your best case is setting your card multiplier by 5, giving you the 5 cards a month setup (TNM almost always gives you a bonus week should a guy not renew a contract, so you can work around a talent that is leaving). I would also say that for the number of weeks on contracts, since you are wanting to sign guys for a full year, sign them to a 12 week deal which should cover you. (with the multiplier the 12 week deal is actually 12 times 5 or 60 cards which means you get them for just under a years worth of cards [49 weekly shows and 11 monthly shows] or you could sign them to a 13 week deal [53 weeklys and 12 monthlys] which makes the most sense and has been traditionally what I have used for circuits where I make my multiplier value equal the number of cards in an average month.)

I hope this helps and makes sense.

The week of the supercard there is no weekly show.

March 1 - Weekly Show
March 8 - Weekly Show
March 15 - Weekly Show
March 22 - Weekly Show
March 25 - Monthly Supercard

April 5 - Weekly Show
April 12 - Weekly Show
April 19 - Weekly Show
April 26 - Monthly Supercard

so it would really be 5(4 Weekly + 1 monthly) 4 (3 Weekly + 1 monthly)

Looking at it mathmatically it would be best to do 13 w/4 modifier for my longterm guys and 7 w/4 modifier for others?

that's sounds correct.  by using 7 for the short term guys it will cover you for 6 months just in case someone should quit on you.
