Anyone try running a modern day Oliver style WWE?

Since Oliver's circuit was really good for what it was, I wonder if anyone has tried emulating it with today's WWE roster? Might be time consuming or maybe not with short writeups.

It's weird you should ask that. Just before the Rumble, I hired all those willing to work for me (a couple of big names wouldn't sign) and simmed about 4 cards.

I decided to keep things simple by only having one roster and the 3 major titles (World, IC, Tag) and just booking it Oliver-style (just working with what TNM gave me and what seems logical).

At the Royal Rumble:
Jericho beat JBL.
MVP beat Flair, but it was by DQ so the career ending stip didn't count.
Edge beat Rey to retain the Intercontinental Title.
Jeff Hardy beat Orton by countout, so Orton retained.
The Great Khali won the Royal Rumble (last 4: Khali, Holly, Michaels, and Marella)

No Way Out 2008:
Jamie Noble beat Mr. Kennedy (special ref was Victoria)
Rhodes & Holly beat Morrison & Miz for the tag titles.
Undertaker beat Big Daddy V by DQ
Batista beat Snitsky
Finlay, Foley, & Hornswoggle beat Khali, Santino & Carlito
Rey Mysterio won the Elimination Chamber Match (inc. Umaga, Chris Jericho, Kane, JBL, & Shawn Michaels)
Flair beat Triple H by countout (Flair keeps wrestling)
Jeff Hardy beat Orton in a no-escape cage match

Wrestlemania 2008
Big Daddy V beat Undertaker in a no-DQ match
D-X (HHH & HBK) beat Morrison & The Miz
Batista beat Kane by countout
Mr. Kennedy won the Money in the Bank (4-corner ladder match inc. Mick Foley, Finlay, & JBL)
Rey Mysterio beat Umaga by DQ
Rhodes & Holly retained tag titles over Marella & Carlito by countout
Jericho beat Edge by countout (Edge retains IC)
Hornswoggle beats Victoria (comedy break)
Khali beat Hardy to win WWE World Title

Backlash 2008
Orton beat Flair (Flair retires)
Finlay & Foley beat Mark Henry & Big Daddy V
Batista beat Umaga
The Miz beats Hornswoggle
Rhodes & Holly beat Marella & Carlito to retain
Jericho beat Edge by DQ (Edge retains again)
Mysterio beat Khali by DQ (Khali retains)

Judgement Day 2008
Victoria beat Mr. Kennedy
Hardy beat Orton
Undertaker beat Santino
Big Daddy V & Mark Henry beat Morrison & Miz
D-X beat Goldust & Kane ('M'-hire)
Finlay & Foley beat Rhodes & Holly for Tag Titles
Jericho beat JBL & Edge for IC title (Triangle match)
Khali & Umaga beat Batista & Mysterio

Surprisingly easy and fun to book...

Keep it going. Hooray for 'M'-hires. A legitimate Goldust/Kane team could be pretty funny. Why wasn't Flair booked for Wrestlemania?

Are you just running monthly shows or also weekly shows?

I could have sworn I had booked Orton v Flair at Wrestlemania, but it turned out that I had not.

Just the PPVs (14 a year, I think). It actually makes it a lot easier.

A long time ago (RIGHT after the brand split), I and a few friends IRL attempted a "Mine vs Yours League" .

There were five of us (four after the first month). We would each create Raw with the (then) current roster, match the real show for four weeks and the PPV (it was a Raw only PPV, don't remember which one), and then from there handle the brand our own ways.

We would use the star ratings to see who could do the best if we all started at the same point.

Made for a few interesting circuits, including an nWo vs DX Surivor Series match (Nash, Hall, Hogan, Vince, Giant vs HHH, HBK, X-Pac, NAO) that DX totally owned, while on another circuit we had the Hart Foundation barely beat out DX.

Ended up axing it after about four months. Don't recall who was "winning" at that point.

I always liked the Idea of teaming Goldust with Mankind (I used to team them up plenty of times back in the day)

I remember running an Oliver Style circuit, but it was WCW, not WWE, back in 1999. I only had four title: WCW World, WCW US, WCW World Tag, and TV titles. I would have added a CW title, but instead decided against it and have my CWs compete in with HWs instead, by keeping it simple. Instead I held a Cruiserweight tournament every year, kind of like the WWF KOTR (but only Junior Heavyweights) It was kind of a takeoff on the Super J tournament. The winner would eventually get a shot at the champion of his choice. Hell, El Dandy once held my WCW World Heavyweight Title because of the tournament.

See? Bret Hart knew what he was talking about.
