Suggest Tweak Circuit Settings?

ZephyroPosted on 09/23/07 at 08:53:36

I thought maybe it would be helpful for some if we came up with some possible default settings people could use based on what type of circuit they were running.

For example  an old school promotion would obviously have lower pin in submission moves, less ref bumps, and lower time progression and hit factor. While WWE would have a higher time progession and hit factor, more ref bumps, more interference etc. A mexican promotion,or a death match promotion would probably have an even higher time progression and hit factor.

So I thought it might be helpful for some, especially the ones less familiar with this plugin to atleast get it more realistic for their promotion type.

What about a fed such as NOAH?

Japan generally has very few ref bumps, yes?

I think Oliver wrote me in an email when I asked about time progression and hit factor for kayfabe era promotions that generally they should be set over 100 each (yes they can be set to 200 something if you want).

The reasoning I could see is that while matches lasted longer in kayfabe era promotions, they didn't use as many moves. Or maybe the moves were sold better than today's style of wrestlers sell.

If you look at the match highlights that are saved for an entire match on the standard settings, there are way too many moves used. I've been playing around with the settings but it's something I probably need more explanation before paying more attention to it. There's little value added for worrying about it unless you want to incorporate a Scott Keith like rant writing style where you're describing the match move for move (which was the original intent of tweaking with the settings).

Agreed. Well, the mainstream non-hardcore Japanese feds anyway.

Has anymore work been done with this?

I had set mine to 200/200 for my '85 era promotion but ran into alot of Time Limit Draws for my 15 minute matches. The number of moves does go way down. I had the match length settings at 7 and went to 6 but came up with pretty much the same number of draws.

I think the point of increasing those values is to limit the amount of moves. On the default values, wrestlers use way too many moves. Compare that to the kayfabe era where a wrestler could have an armlock applied for a minute or two.

Agreed but the damage increase should make for just as much damage with less moves, right? At the very least, the amount of finished matches in a certain time limit versus time limit expiring should be the same?

I do less moves in 15 minutes but the moves do more damage. You'd think it would even out. Or am I understanding it wrong?
