I wonder ...

JeepGuyPosted on 01/24/08 at 17:18:12

... with over 9000 members on the board, why there aren't more posters? Since signing up, I see quite a bit of activity but it seems to only be from a small handful of members.

With all the people onboard and amount of topics available to discuss, whether it is TNM7, finding exports, getting technical help, posting your circuits, running an e-fed, discussing wrestling or mma to just about anything else you want ... I just want to say ... GET MORE ACTIVE!

What do some of you lurkers out there have to say? Read the circuits and post comments, ask for exports or make some for others, get involved in discussions. Most of the people here are very nice, friendly and helpful ... they don't bite (okay, maybe a few do but I think they've been cured)!
Hello MamushiPosted on 01/24/08 at 17:42:49

The question is out of the 9,000 registered how many of those are spam accounts.

You really have to subtract the spam accounts, then the accounts with an extremely low post/amount of time registered ratio (one/few time posters) and the formers regulars that haven't been around in forever, because while they might return someday, you can't really include them in the "get more active" since they aren't around to read it.  :P

Unfortunately what you're left with it a mere pittance of users.

Other than the off-topic board I actually think it's been a little more active lately than it has been in the past.  off-topic board has slowed down exponentially since Anubis "took his ball(s) and went home."

That's a good question ... so how many are spam accounts and how many are former active members?

Too bad there isn't a way to clean it up and clear out the spammers.

yeah, that board has really slowed down with the absence of Anubis. However, it has been great having all the wrestling related discussions going on the WWE/TNA/Indy boards. And the circuit boards are always a good read. More people are always welcome into the discussions.
VertigoPosted on 01/24/08 at 19:44:18

A lot of the time the board can be pretty quiet for a few days and if someone signs up during that time, they just forget about us and move on.

Lately, though, there has always been something to do/read here daily.

Plus, I kind of like that we don't have those 9000 people posting. I'm always open to having new members jump on board, but with the low amount of regulars we have here, rarely does anything get overlooked whether it's a request, comment, circuit, or help request.

You wanna see busy? Wait till Oliver announces TNM 8.

THEN you'll see busy :-P

(Note: Don't hold your breath)
Rick GarrardPosted on 01/25/08 at 02:41:33

And Microsoft will announce a version of Windows that isn't bloatware either.  :P
Hello MamushiPosted on 01/25/08 at 02:41:43

I heard he's going to skip TNM 8 completely because he went into the future and saw that it surprisingly bombed because it was in all German and only featured members of El Dandy's family and NOT El Dandy and he's going straight to TNM 9 Super Platinum Ultimate Edition.com.org 3000.

ARMBARS EVERYWHERE!
JeepGuyPosted on 01/25/08 at 22:14:44

Looking over the membership, over 9500 of those haven't made any posts, so I'd assume a very big portion of that number aren't real people, leaving a good 200+ real people as members. Of that number, I imagine a good % no longer frequents the boards or are lurkers. That leaves us a pretty small number of regulars.

Maybe if there really were over 9500 members on the boards, we'd see a TNM8?

If I win the lottery, I'll fund TNM 8.

Or spend it on booze and hookers, one of the other.

Why not do both?
91Posted on 01/25/08 at 23:07:53

Because my booze and hooker budget happens to come to exactly tomorrow nights jackpot.
JustinCaseYouForgotPosted on 01/26/08 at 03:25:12

I'll just make my own TNM game & it'll be even bigger 'cuz I'll have blackjack & hookers.....

As a matter of fact forget the game & the blackjack.

On second thought, screw the whole thing!

I'm already planning to port TNM7SE to FreeBasic as soon as it's GPLed.  ;D Of course, me saying that might mean a little more if I actually released something in FreeBasic, like a Moves Wizard or Unmade Wrestler Match Decider Plugin (two ideas I have toyed with.)

I wrote the dice roller I use to determine whom to sign to contracts in RG circuits with FreeBasic, but honestly, there are other, better dice rollers all over the place.

I cannot accept your funding should this happen, due to the GPL. Please send booze and hookers directly to my house instead.
pszPosted on 01/26/08 at 21:54:22

I say port TNM to VisualBasic, that way it can in-turn be ported to XNA, and thus the console world can be thrown into chaos due to the amazingness of TNM360.
Hello MamushiPosted on 01/27/08 at 02:34:34

we should turn it into a virus using bioengineering and infect everyone with TNMAIDs
JeepGuyPosted on 01/28/08 at 19:30:51

Just 4 members shy of 10,000!
