Fraud

Just a warning to anyone who may be thinking of buying plugins, or the game itself.

I purchased a couple of Plugins through TNM7.com. When I clicked to order it took me to the German PayPal page. I figured no biggie since I knew it was asking me for my PayPal information. After I put it in I redirected to the English PayPal site and everything went smooth from there.

Yesterday I checked my bank account and in addition to the correct PayPal purchases, I had 2 other small purchases (totaling $40) from a German website I've never visited, let alone ordered anything from.

I have no way of confirming that the fraud has anything to do with my plugin purchase, but I'm just making the connection since the two happened so closely and I hadn't ordered anything online for weeks before this. And the obvious German relationship.

Did you send Oliver a Facebook message about this? Might be a good idea just so he could check his Paypal stuff and make sure there is no hacking of it.

I had an initial problem getting my codes and had been in contact with him through email, so I emailed him about the fraud. I don't have him on my Facebook but if I don't hear back from him through email, I'll send him a Facebook message.

are the charges pending?
VertigoPosted on 06/15/10 at 05:57:25

No, they already went through. They went through on the 11th and I didn't see them until the 12th. I'm disputing it, obviously, but it's just something I wish I could have avoided altogether. Such a hassle. I don't wish it on anyone, especially someone just trying to enjoy a simple TNM plugin.

Another example of Oliver needing to make a final call on TNM.

I personally think that Oliver should either give TNM up altogether by making it Freeware, selling the program to someone else who is willing to make improvements, or make it Open-Source Software, preferably the latter

I don't see any reason for Copp to make it freeware. He worked really hard on the program and deserves to profit from it. I don't mind him selling it if he wants to, but I don't know who would want to buy it at this point.

Where's a TNMer with a CompSci degree when you need one?

It doesn't work in a 64-bit environment without a emulator for one...

Agreed. Although, I am glad it is able to work with VirtualBox. It got really irritating with DosBox.

I guess my own selfish wish is to have some closure with TNM. If this is the end, I'd like to know from Oliver. If there is something in the horizon, I'd like to know that too.
JoshiQPosted on 07/01/10 at 05:57:50

I guess I always just thought it was the end. I thought he had said that at some point. But yeah, maybe he should make an announcement on the main page and just say if you pay for it now you get it knowing it doesn't work in 64 bit and that he still will work on fixing TNMs that are sent to him if they have an error...

I don't even know what TNM would cost to buy so someone could try and re-program it. And I don't really trust anybody but Oliver to do it because every other wrestling sim I've used has sucked.
