Jobbers?

JeepGuyPosted on 01/19/08 at 03:10:15

On page 107 of the SE manual it lists Jobbers as features of both the SE engine as well as the SE of TweakCirc.

Is there a check box somewhere to assign wrestlers as jobbers? Or is it something you just have to set with the wrestler's ratings?

I believe that if you don't assign a finisher, then said wrestler is considered a jobber within TNM.  Then again, I might be wrong.

This is what I have heard. I have never seen a wrestler without a finisher win a match by pin or submission. They can, however, still win by DQ, countout, or battle royal elimination.

Strange that it would be as simple as removing a finisher where it was listed as being in both the SE guide as well as the TweakCirc additions.

It's a useful feature, more so for unbooked circuits. So now you can re-create all the jobbers from JCP and the WWF.

I was hoping it was more of a Check Box to designate someone as a jobber, giving them a small % of a chance to win a match using their finisher rather than removing the move altogether.

I was hoping to use it in an unbooked circuit.

if that's the case, just give them a "low damage" finisher.

.....most of my jobbers have a finisher like move and I edit the name of it using the special move wizard.....

Is that worth picking up? What other plugins are or aren't worth taking a look at?

It really depends on what you want.  Some people will say some plugins are great, and some don't personally get any use out of them.  I love the weight class wizard and special move wizard and still need to pick up the circuit history plugin, but it's extremely rare that I bother with theme music or the visualizer so I don't have much use for either of those plugins.

I think the most universal "must haves" that you'll get from people are for Tweak and Weight Class Wizard.  Especially tweak.  I personally can't imagine TNM without using tweak anymore.

If you really want all your workers to have the correct names they use for their special moves I'd say pick up the plugin.  It's better than copying moves and cluttering your database.

I have Tweak and absolutely love it. What does Weight Class Wizard do exactly? More than keeping track of weight classes?

From the home page...

What does the Weight Class Wizard do for you?

   * It gives you brands. Create as many brands as you wish and assign your wrestlers to them.
   * Take your circuits' titles and limit them to the people you really want to contend for them. Every title can be assigned a weight class, a gender, the brand it belongs to - and even the style of wrestlers contending for it (e.g. hardcore wrestlers, high-flyers, shooters).
   * The Weight Class Wizard provides a much more sophisticated means of determining the top contenders for your titles, as it takes five qualifying wrestlers from your ratings and then in a second step ranks them against one another by looking at how they performed against each other - and against the reigning champion - in the past.
   * It even lets you assign certain wrestlers to certain weight classes. Want to have Kevin Nash compete in the cruiserweight division? You can do it.

New in version 1.8:

   * Functionality of the TNM 7 SE Circuit History plugin is available from the Weight Class Wizard if both are installed and at least Circuit History is registered; click the "Wrestler Records" button to launch
   * Some small bugs fixed
ThnikkamanPosted on 01/23/08 at 20:56:23

Tweak is great. I sign wrestlers to my circuits exclusively with Tweak. I also edit injury times with it.

I like Weight Class, but don't use it as often.

I also have Circuit Editor, which I use to add storyline points that I may have forgotten when running a card.
Rick GarrardPosted on 01/24/08 at 00:54:12

If there was only one plugin that is a MUST have, it is TweakCirc.  There are so many more check boxes and adjustments that can be made (such as the ability to set the number of cards that equal a "TNM Week" as far as contracts and injuries go) though using Tweak.

Weight Class Wizard is good if you are wanting to do "multibrand circuits" within the same circuit.

TweakCirc is the only one I use, so far.
