As a Tony Anthony fan, I was disappointed to see him cast as "wrestling plumber" T.L. Hopper. Sad thing about the Max Moon gimmick is, both Konnan and Paul Diamond were good enough wrestlers to get over without some rejected-by-the-director-of-Tron spacesuit. So 9 out of 10, yeah, they were stinkers. |
Mr. Ken Kennedy | Posted on 09/05/07 at 23:56:03 I can't believe The Gobbledygooker was a Guerrero |
Unright | Posted on 09/05/07 at 23:59:20 Actually, I liked Big Bully Busick as well.. I nominate in Friar Ferguson or Bastion Booger to replace it. |

Azrael | Posted on 09/06/07 at 00:04:43 This list is not complete without Mantaur and the Shockmaster. |
91 | Posted on 09/06/07 at 00:33:16 Whilst all those gimmicks were pretty bad (except Ralphus), none of them wrecked anybodies careers. Hector was already getting on a bit anyway when he was decked out in the turkey suit, Kevin Nash went on to great success, nobody would have even known it was Konnan or Paul Diamond under the mask back then and whilst Fred Ottmans career basically ended with the Shockmaster, he'd already had a modicum of success in the WWF. The Red Rooster gimmick on the other hand did just that. |

The Blue Blazer gimmick was OK but it just did not suit Owen. The Blazer gimmick would have been more appropriate for a luchador. Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz was another awful gimmick (but it was Steve Lombardi, so who cares?) The whole WCW Black Scorpion angle was awful on so many levels. Most fans knew it was Flair to begin with. Hulk Hogan as Mr. America was more obvious than Dusty Rhodes as The Red Rider. |
Unright | Posted on 09/06/07 at 01:21:17 How about Dale Torborg as the KISS Demon? There's a bad career decision... |

LillaThrilla | Posted on 09/06/07 at 05:51:00 Mike Awesome as The Fat Chick Thriller and That 70s Guy Wrestlecrap must have done a poll on this... |
rebelins | Posted on 09/06/07 at 06:50:52 The Blue Blazer sucked because even with accident it was the reason Owen is no longer with us. :'( |
Zedja - TNMWA Champion | Posted on 09/06/07 at 12:37:41 Hugh Morris Mr America |
91 | Posted on 09/06/07 at 13:37:11 In fairness, Owen was doing wonders with the Blue Blazer considering the cheesiness of it (I'm thinking the 99 version here) though obviously everyone would have been better off it it'd never happened. Awesomes WCW gimmicks I forgot (yeah, thanks Lilla for reminding me - jerk), they absolutely ground any chance of him being a major player in the big two even though WCW had had an absolutely sure fire thing in him. And as for Hugh Morrus, I found Hugh G. Rection to be far more annoying (say... who was booking WCW at the time). Still, if I'm honest, worst ever is the Gooker. I could probably see the beginnings of the thought process of most of the others - Red Rooster (the stuff with Heenan at the start was decent enough, going onto the plucky underdog who actually wins some) and Black Scorpion (mystery masked guy that everyone is trying to work out who it is - if it wasn't for all the black magic crap and the UFO stuff, that could have almost been OK) you can see where they're coming from for a moment. The Gooker? Nope, no idea what they were thinking there. |

91 | Posted on 09/06/07 at 23:45:27 It was, Marianna Komlos (who has since passed on) was getting revenge for being dumped by applying make-up to look like bruises, but it was later revealed (through the magic of GTV) that she'd faked the whole thing. |
