What do you do?

syxxpakkPosted on 02/20/07 at 01:00:49

In TNM, I've simmed up to the year 2010 my WCW fed.  Weekly shows, PPVs, Clashes, etc.

A big part of my fed is Mike Awesome.  He started off with main event caliber stuff against Benoit.  He was a member of the Horsemen alongside Bobby Roode, AJ Styles, Ric Flair, and Christian Cage.  A former tag team champion with Bobby Roode.  Former US Heavyweight champion.  And after a lengthy hiatus and vacation, I just recently brought him back to set him up in a storyline for the reformation of the Four Horsemen.

As I'm sure you know, he unfortunately passed away today.

Should I book him in honor?  Or would it be disrespectful to keep doing so?

What do you do when faced with this issue?

there's nothing wrong with continuing to use him. Since you've already gone into the future with it, it stands to reason that you book with a good deal of fantasy involved. so who's to say that in your version of reality that he did not continue on living. I've seen some guys still use Owen Hart, Hawk, Bossman, and others... thats what's great about TNM... the biggest limit is your own imagination.

For me, I'd say since you're already in 2010 and he's alive, you should keep him alive.  It's not really disrespectful.  Unless of course you start booking him as a zombie or something. :)

For me, I try to stick to real life as much as possible.  If someone dies, in GCW world when I get to that date, they also die.  There is a little flexing involved with certain things, such as if a wrestler retires and I'm not ready for him to retire yet, I'll keep using him (see, Lance Storm) but I will stick with what the real life personality says they want to do.

So yeah, keep using him.

It's a game. I don't understand why people have such a dilemma when it comes to this issue. I have no idea how anyone could misconstrue using a deceased wrestler as being disrespectful to them.

Should we not continue to use Einstein's Theory of Relativity just because he's deceased?

Thanks for the replies.

I love Eddie Guerrero and a lot of other superstars that have passed away. Because I love them I will keep on using them, because then at least in my own federations they can keep on entertaining me and help me remember the good times they did the same in the past.

Every time you use a wrestler that died in TNM, you increase your chance of contracting lupus.

It's true.

Chastity = Lupus ?

Ya lost me, Rick...

Chasitity and Lupus were both in Raven's Nest in ECW during the final match between Raven and Tommy Dreamer (the night that Dreamer finally pinned Raven after a couple of years of chasing him).  Just an off color ECW remark from me.  :)
