Some AWA wrestlers and more NWA wrestlers...

"Listen up, Spudhead! I've been doing this for 14 glorious years..." Larry Zbyszko

The Destruction Crew

Made in the USA Lex Luger (His older NWA look is there also!)

The Powers of Pain

Simply Ravishing!

The Walking Condominium
triad4evrPosted on 01/07/05 at 07:54:53

Hey, howbout Wahoo McDaniels and Chief Jay Strongbow! They would be good "classic" additions. That Rick Rude is fantastic, by the way, and I was glad to see good ol' Larry make an appearance.
91Posted on 01/07/05 at 19:58:42

I'd love to see Rick Martel, he used to be my favourite back in the day.
WalkingCondominiumPosted on 01/09/05 at 05:54:27

I tried a few new things with my pictures for the Visualizer...first, I changed the canvas size for all of the pictures, giving them the uniform ratio that the Visualizer recommended...the larger size looks better in and out of the game, imo.
I also monkeyed around with adding backgrounds like on Andre and Adonis, and I like the look, but it seems too "Federation specific" and I decided against it.

Bastion Booger was a bit rushed last time, and I didn't have good reference pics, but I *fixed* him up for his one fan out there... ;D

Bruno Sammartino...in my WWF 1986 era fed, has gone HEEL! He's Known as "The Godfather of Wrestling" and comes out to the Godfather movie theme and everything! His heel/neutral stable consists of old timers like Backlund, Morales, Billy Graham who hate "Sports Entertainment" LOL I'm not turning Andre for WMIII and Bruno will face Hogan then.

I went back and fixed up *several* of my older pictures...I feel I have come a long way from a couple of months ago when I was just learning Photoshop. Anyway, an improved Hart Foundation.

Bob Backlund, the Godfather's consignore..ugh, that thing Robert Duvall was to Marlon Brando in "The Godfather"

Everyone's favorite pervert, Jerry Lawler!

Bad News Brown

An improved Roddy Piper, who will *NEVER* turn face as long as I book!!!

Not sure the exact year Sabu really debuted, but in my fantasy fed, he debuted in the mid-eighties, as the tag team known (albeit uncreatively) as the Terrorists. The Iron Sheik brought them in originally, but they proved too wild for even him to control! The (original) Sheik and Sabu are wreaking havoc on team like the Killer Bees and the Rougeaus!

The Man Called Sting!

Dr. Death Steve Williams and a few others will be forming the Varsity Club in my near future! (Still love the idea of this gimmick!)

If these pics clog up the boards in any way, please let me know. I enjoy sharing/showing them and hope they're not a problem.

All my pics can be found on my website, over on the left ;)

Thanks
WC

I go to your site and to my amazement I see you do custom wrestling action figures _and_ custom super heroes (with a decidedly Golden Age DC feel to boot)... you, sir, are perhaps the coolest person I have met on these forums (no offense Oliver, Socko, and you other very cool people I have been chatting with- I am just so in synch with this guy)! Kudos again!

The Blue Blazer- an exciting newcomer to the WWF!

The Pegasus Kid- another high-flying newcomer to the WWF!

The masked tag team known as "The Missles!"

Chris Adams--Gentleman, no more! After a quick WWF makeover, Chris Adams was repackaged with a British punk gimmick. God Save the Queen, indeed!

Los Banditos--Chavo and Hector are ambushing WWF tag teams in their quest for the gold!

Kevin Sullivan--Gene Simmons has nothing on him! (except probably 10,000 women)

Jesse "The Body" Ventura--the future Governor is a healthy, full time wrestler (and announcer) in my universe!

And yes, Danny Davis was still banned for biased refereeing. His feud with Tito Santana is burning up my fed. Maybe not...

Baron Von Rashke--Master of the dreaded Claw!

2 Cold Scorpio--North America hasn't seen anything like him before!

In my 'universe' the WWF was busted early on for attempting to set up a monopoly in the business, so the WWF was ordered to cut their roster to 28 Superstars, thus allowing the AWA and the NWA to gobble up some of their cut talent. After each federation selected their 'franchise' talent, a random draw was made to fill out the remaining rosters. Each ended up with about 50 performers. Vince is making over his newly acquired talent as we speak (see Chris Adams and the Missles above!) while the NWA is opting for a less 'Sports Entertainment' approach. In a surprise, Vern Gagne ended up with some stellar talent (Rockers, Vader, Yokozuna, Bigelow, the Funks) and it will be interesting to see what he does with it!

Good timing.  He debuted 1985. ;)

HollingerPosted on 01/19/05 at 04:03:27

Do you just freehand those, or is there a template you use... I'd be interested in trying something like this myself...
WalkingCondominiumPosted on 01/19/05 at 15:45:27

I Photoshopped myself a few templates, very generic looking images of Tito Santana and Rick Martel from their old WWF Ice Cream Bars pictures. Nearly every picture I've done uses them in some way.

I mainly just use the legs, but, I have used the 'generic' pose of Santana for several others (like Bob Backlund, the Guerreros, and Chris Adams above). The Destruction Crew and Lugar show how flipping the rotation and 'stretching' the image can make them look very different.

I did just make a template of Benoit's Pegasus Kid to make some cruiserweights from.

Hollinger-I'd be happy to share the templates with you (or anyone else) just PM me with your e-mail and I'll send them to you!

Verne Gagne in my "Universe" caught on that his ship was sunk if he didn't make the necessary changes to keep his company alive in the eighties. The governament helped by regulating the WWF and Gagne was able to hold onto the talent of several workers he might not otherwise have been able to. He also took the advise of a young Eric Bischoff and went with a more "Sports Entertainment" approach to production. Verne Gagne created a gimmick for himself based off the President at that time, Ronald Reagan. President Gagne is an idealistic, aloof man, who does genuinely care for his fans, but comes across a bit stiff. (First picture, no gimmick, last 2, his gimmick in my universe)

Pres. Gagne immediately spent his time acquiring the rights to produce characters and gimmicks based off of the current fads of the time. Buddy Rose and Doug Somers became repackaged as "The Real Ghostbusters!" ;D

Greg Gagne became known as "The Gamer" Greg Gagne...

While others, like Wahoo McDaniel and Ox Baker refused to make any changes, they stayed popular just the same!

Will this AWA fare any better than the REAL AWA? Could it do any worse? Stay tuned and find out, and see what other shocking changes are in store for the American Wrestling Association!  ;)

I printed off the names of all the wrestlers from "Obsessedwithwrestling.com" and I am checking them off, one by one, of course my favorites and requests come before others. In say 10 years I ought to have finished off the list  ;D

As for World Class, I am open to *most* bigger name people from the 80's/90's, just let me know. I do have 1 Von Erich finished! ;)

SuperstarJimiCPosted on 02/01/05 at 00:42:29

Here are a couple of other names I didn't mention:
 1) Blackjack Lanza
 2) Buck "Rock 'N' Roll" Zumhofe
 3) Mr. Olympia
 4) Gentleman Chris Adams (as 1/2 of the Dynamic Duo)
 5) Gino Hernandez (as 1/2 of the Dynamic Duo)
 6) Rocky Johnson
 7) Superstar Billy Graham (with a mustache & Kung-Fu  gimmick)
 8) "Double J" Jeff Jarrett
 9) Superstar Bill Dundee
10) Flamboyant Eric Embry
11) The Bushwhackers (or The Sheepherders your pick).

What do you think of those names? Let me know & what wrestlers are we expecting to see next, any self-created ones coming in as well? Let me know.
WalkingCondominiumPosted on 02/01/05 at 03:06:40

Here are a few of my gimmicked 80's guys. John Nord is under the mask, wrestling as "Sloth," an immensely popular brute from Astoria, WA.  "The Prince" Brian Lawler is the spoiled son of "The King," who can hardly stand his obnoxious hyena-like son. Last is the King Cobra, a man aligned with all the heels in the AWA. He has a real vendetta against the Gagne family and Sgt. Slaughter. He drops hints that his identity would shock us if we knew...maybe someday, if Sgt. Slaughter gets his way...

I need to ask, I know you got more important pics going on with your wrestlers, but I need to ask, are you going to have any more sets to create. I know you have alot of WWE sets like Wrestling Challenge, Superstars, Piper's Pit set, WWE set, Events Center, etc. Are you going to be creating NWA-WCW or AWA sets in the future? Let me know.
WalkingCondominiumPosted on 02/03/05 at 02:37:26

As far as sets go, I want to make the old NWA "WCW Saturday Night" set, circa '87 or '88, but can't find good reference pictures. I am open to anyone's requests, as long as I can find a reference picture to work from. If you have some requests, let me know! Since my TNM is currently down with an error (Oliver's looking into it) I have more free time to make some pictures. Again, let me know...

HugeRockStar760Posted on 02/03/05 at 05:25:23

Sloth looks like a cool gimmick.  Is it your idea or did John Nord really have that gimmick?

I might just have to use that gimmick for John Nord in my circuit, if you don't mind.
WalkingCondominiumPosted on 02/03/05 at 18:06:03

Sloth was an original gimmick of mine, well as original as ripping off "The Goonies" gets anyways...lol

In my "Alternative Universe" the AWA decided to go a more "Sports Entertainment" route, and Verne is giving his guys 80's style gimmicks of "current" popular culture. The ideas I use are not very original, but they are fun (to me!) and I get to be creative with the talent I grew up watching. Besides, "Yukon" John Nord?!?! Norwegia?? He deserved better  ;)

Of course  you are welcome to use any and all ideas and pictures I post. Enjoy.

Would King Cobra be Brian Lawler by any chance?
WalkingCondominiumPosted on 02/16/05 at 22:14:47

I just posted my first AWA card result in the circuit forum, and have requested my own Circuit Forum from Oliver.

King Kobra will arrive when his storyline is ready to showcase, therefore I cannot divulge his identity at this time.

Watch it play out. It could be several people, and hints will be given along the way!

Who is this masked man? What does he want?

All in good time, all in good time!  ;D

Hey Walking Condominium, are you still making pictures of wrestlers still or are you still with TNM? Let us know. What are you doing as far as making wrestler pics?
WalkingCondominiumPosted on 03/15/05 at 00:34:26

I'm around (kinda) my very (!) pregnant wife is due any day now, so things are kinda crazy. Plus she is on a huge City of Heroes kick which limits MY computer usage time as well...sigh...
But yeah, I'm waiting to hear from Oliver about a fed I want to start and post in the forums...it's been weeks, but I read somewhere that he's on vacation? Is he back? I'll e-mail him again about it. :)

Thanks for asking and I'll get more done as soon as things die down here in babyland :)

Hey WalkingCondominium, Are you still creating wrestler pics anymore? Let us know.
DominusPosted on 06/19/05 at 12:27:35

This is some of the greatest stuff I've ever seen!

I wanted to do something like this before too!  I made my Alternate-Universe start in 1986.  So I try to use all the talent from then.  But right now I only have one fed.  The World Wide Wrestling Federation & Gorilla Monsoon is the President.   I am going to bring in a few more Federations in due time, like Japanese Fed, a Mexican Fed & possible a Canadian or another American federation.  But thats in a few more years!  Right now I'm only in 1987 & run only 1 or 2 cards a month.

My Jesse Ventura was a commentator too, but Gorilla fired him because he'd always wrestle, so he went & hired Lord Alfred Hayes! hahaha!!
Right now I have the Four Horsemen with Flair, Anderson, Orton & DiBiase!  I'm hoping Flair or DiBiase will quit or something later on down the road, so that I can start another faction with either one of them as the leader, cause I want to split them up now & both are the main Heels in my federation along with Andre.  So I have them competing for the World Title & Hogan right now...  But I think Flair should kick DiBiase out soon, but I don't want DiBiase to be face.  I was thinking about having DiBiase try to buy the Federation from Monsoon, but then just go & make his own!  I don't know, but I'm having a blast creating this alternate world of wrestling.

I even have real life stuff.  Like right now Eddie Gilbert is under diciplinary action for taking drugs!  And I had one wrestler just quit on me, so I made up a story that he was feuding with another wrestler backstage so he just told Gorilla Monsoon that he was leaving!

Oh & Sting, well he was supposed to show up at the first card I ran, but no showed the World Title Tournament!  So I had this big story on all the wrestlers calling him out, especially Sid Vicious & Lex Luger, so they were about to meet at in a Tag Match against IC Champ Snuka & Sting, when I had Sting turn against Snuka, join Luger & Sid & feud with Snuka for the title!!  Oh yeah great stuff.

Oh then while the Tag Team Division was just starting to heat up, Monsoon annouces another single's title, the Intercontinental belt.  Well Demolition was pissed, seeing as there was no World Tag Titles yet, & at the Tournament Finals, Demolition came down & cause a Double-DQ, resulting in no winner being annouced.  Demolition then got suspended, but Monsoon made the World Tag Titles & held a tournament, which Demolition were banned from unless they beat 2 Tag Teams in on night, which they did & then ended up winning the titles!!  But then ended up losing them the next night to LaFon & Furnas (who are masked)!
I don't book anything, just let the simulator play it out.  I do change stats & stuff like that, but that's only to reflect how the wrestlers were back in that era.

But anyways I love what you're doing, especially with the pics!  I actually have a few cards made up in HTML, where I have pics from like www.obsessedwithwrestling.com , but if I had more experience I'd definitley do what you are doing!  It's great!  Keep up the good work, & I might just have to steal that King Cobra idea!!
SuperstarJimiCPosted on 10/25/06 at 04:11:51

If i'm not mistaken, Walking Condominium has come out with a game of his own with those created wrestlers. I think it came out yesterday entitled,
WrestleFest! Tabletop Wrestling Card Game. Here's the site,

Check it out!!
