something stirring at Geeksoft

Well assuming it's free or there are free trials of sorts, I'll certainly be giving them a try. That said, Zeus never really did it for me (you could spend half an hour booking a card and if there was one minor fault with one of the matches - which there often was - you lost the lot).

Neither did the whole EWF/TEW series of which I could sort of see the appeal but it was too much of a chore - starting out at backyard level, I'd find my reputation level (or whatever it was) going up 1% per card, of which there was one a month. Maybe I was doing something wrong but I never bothered going past one year. And at least Zeus allowed for SOME creativity input.

Still, we shall see.
Rick GarrardPosted on 12/07/05 at 01:45:08

that stirring feeling you are having is Mama Guerrero's chili.  ;)
rey619Posted on 12/07/05 at 08:25:58

I have vowed never to try TEW again.. even though there is some kind of sensation inside of me that tells me I have to.. I always have such big hopes for TEW, since it has an immense database and a lot of possibilites... I hire a roster.. I schedule a card.. I run it... and then I lose interest.. I want to see the matches goddamnit!!!

Just thought I'd bump this... let everyone know that Geeksoft has launched G-Fed 3.0, and maybe y'all should check it out.

What I would like to know dchamilton if whether you are an actual TNM user or just a shill for Geeksoft.  I would imagine the latter since all three of your posts have been geeksoft centric.  I, personally, hate seeing such blatant advertising.  This isn't a discussion.  This is a blatant advert.  If you're going to be one of those people you could've at least placed your ad in the off-topic section of the boards instead of bumping a 6 month old thread that for all intents and purposes had no business being in the discussion forum in the first place.

I probably sound like I'm being a dick, but personally, I don't care.  I'm sure there are people here who agree with me that this post has no business in the discussion forum.

Shill your shit elsewhere.
dchamiltonPosted on 08/22/06 at 03:29:42

Well, truth be told, I work for Geeksoft.
And yes.. I am advertising.

I for one consider TNM to be one of Geeksoft's friendly competitors, and the TNM community to be a hub of the e-wrestling community.

I'm a fan of TNM. It has a lot of features which we have tried to include in many of our products.

I wasn't sure what forum to put this post in... but at least I kept it relegated to the same post and didn't start a new one.

But... props to TNM and it's community. Consider it flattery that I chose you guys to spread the word through.

Cheers,
DC

I for one don't mind the advertising.  The simulator community for wrestling isn't huge right now, so I feel any help is good.

I think Chris' beef, and my beef for that matter, is the posts were solely you coming here, advertising your product, and that's that.  If there were other things you were doing here - joining WWE discussions, feedbacking people's circuits, whatever - than it's different.  But I can imagine people being upset if we went to the Geeksoft forums, said "TNM is still going strong.  You should check it out.  www.tnm7.com" and then left, the people there wouldn't be too thrilled either.
dchamiltonPosted on 08/22/06 at 03:37:02

Snabbis...

I can see the point.
Truth be told we work so hard on our stuff that we don't really participate in the community. Geeksoft has always had a reputation for that.  Heck, we hardly participate in our own community.

Honestly, we just like to make software, and we're wrestling fans. We're not necessarily e-wrestling fans, but we like wrestling and we like making the software.

I don't think we'd mind if TNM made an occasional drop in to our boards. We're comfortable enough with the quality of our products that we wouldn't mind.

americamamushiPosted on 08/22/06 at 03:59:01

i wouldn't have cared in the least had the thread been "Hey, what do you guys think of Zeus/G-Fed over at Geeksoft?"

but just saying "Hey, go look at our stuff" is lame in my opinion, especially, like Snabby stated, when thats what the sum of your posts is.
PulsarPosted on 08/22/06 at 04:42:42

I deem this thread crap-tastic. Especially since,as has been previously stated, it had been just thrown at us. Now, let's say someone like Rey619 or so came on and said "What do you guys think of geeksoft?" I'd be all "That's cool, introduce me to something new". But you should NEVER come into someone else back yard and just say "My yard sale is over here by the way". It's dirty
Rick GarrardPosted on 08/22/06 at 05:50:11

I motion that this thread be moved to flame wars.  ;)
HugeRockStar760Posted on 08/22/06 at 06:05:00

Hey fans, I was hoping maybe you good people could take the time to vote on whether I should run a split circuit between TNM and Geeksoft. I get to make the first 30 selection. However, you get the next 30, plus a freebie pick.
Rick GarrardPosted on 08/22/06 at 06:06:59

HRS, I jus open da fridge and wee-ahh... them are some good titles!
americamamushiPosted on 08/22/06 at 06:41:07

...

... I should beat both of you with a sack of sweet valencia oranges.

But then again... who am I to doubt HRS & Rick Garrard?

Would it be a Sack of Sweet Valencia Oranges on an electrified pole surrounded by glass and light bulbs everywhere on the mat match?
Rick GarrardPosted on 08/22/06 at 06:55:43

Because that would be too sweet to be sour, the tower of power, the man of the hour...

I'd prefer a TNM codes above a ladder match.
PulsarPosted on 08/22/06 at 07:42:07

Rick, that's a match nobody wins....nobody...except geeksoft, as their thread gets another 6 bumps?
Mister MunshunPosted on 08/22/06 at 09:45:46
