Smackdown! Circuit settings help

HugeRockStar760Posted on 03/24/06 at 18:43:05

I'm trying to start a WWE Smackdown! circuit, but I'd like to run it with correct settings (Tweak Circ, etc).

It'd be also nice to get somewhat correct heat ratings for the wrestlers along with pushes. However, I don't understand the edit heat setting and pushes still confuse me. I usually just keep the default pushes, but I dont think letting Shane Helms have a 92 push rating makes sense.

Anyways, I basically would like a somewhat realistic Smackdown!. Would match length be a bit longer than what RAW would use in their circuit?

hmm... WWE keeps trying to tweak match length back to the 80s TV formula on both shows.  And the main event usually lasts at least 15 minutes while most under card matches last less than 5.

From the manual:
TNM 7 Second Edition doesn't rely heavily on stats; a wrestler with a push of 70 still is likely to beat a wrestler with a push of 100 if his style is much better than that of the wrestler pushed far more... (with Strict Pushing set to on) a wrestler with a push of 70 still may occasionally beat a wrestler with a 100 push but it happens scarcely.
What I like to do is to make a list in notepad of the roster you want to use, then organize them by category. Such Main Eventers consist of: Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Rey Misterio, Randy Orton, Mark Henry. Then Upper Midcarders are: Chris Benoit, JBL, etc...

Once you've got the separations in place, start assigning push. You should put the Main Eventers at around 100, then go down from there. The lower the push, the more of a jobber the wrestler is. Some people like to range it from 100 to 0, but I think most keep it from 100 to 50.

Of course if you are booking your fed, the push ratings are irrelevant.

As for Heat, it determines how over a wrestler is at a given moment. Mysterio right now is probably at 8 or 9. But wrestlers gain or lose heat when they wrestle in the game. I think just about everybody leaves heat at the default starting value of 5 and just lets wrestlers get over on their own. If you hit the 'x' button fromt he main circuit screen, it will give you a listing of Who's Hot (heat above 8) and Who's Not (heat below 3)

Even if I am booking, does push affect match quality at all? Or does push only affect how much more likely that wrestler is going to win if the circuit is unbooked?

Oliver's never really revealed that. Some people say it makes a difference and higher push yields higher ratings. If it does affect it, it's not a strong influence, but it might be that little bit that helps.

I'm 99% sure that higher heat will yield higher ratings, though.
