Move damage list?

Glum76Posted on 09/06/05 at 01:56:01

I'm starting a circuit with all created wrestlers, and for my concept to work, I want to make all of the movesets completely even in total damage points.   Let's say I'm giving everyone 30 moves, and the average damage value is 40, I create the wrestlers so that everyone has 1200 damage points in their movesets.

To do this without taking forever, I need like an Excel spreadsheet showing the names of the moves and their damage values, which I can then sort by damage to make move selection easier.

Is there a plugin that does this?  I seem to recall TNM6.2 plus having a feature where you could generate a move list.

I don't think there exists one today, but it shouldn't be too hard to make one. I mean, my knowledge of programming is limited, but it looks much the same as Troy Plugin's matchmaker, which retrieved the Push value of all wrestlers. Should be about the same to make a plugin which retrieved all damage values of moves?

Right?

Rey - Sounds simple enough.  Makes me wish I was a programmer.

Still, my recent obsession with move damage and its impact on my unbooked circuits has led to an idea that some might find useful as well.

I wonder if, in a future build (or maybe in the upcoming Windows-based Control Center), Oliver could add a field in the wrestler record that sums up all of the damage points in the wrestler's moveset and divides them by the number of moves to give an average move damage rating.

Since I run unbooked circuits, I would find those fields extremely useful.   I know that push, weight, and style-based countermoves factor a lot into the wrestler's overall oerformance potential during the simulation, but knowing the average damage value of the wrestler's moveset would provide a quantitative reference point for comparing wrestlers of equal pushes.

Would anyone else find that useful?

Sounds pretty interesting to me... not sure how I'd use it exactly, but I bet I could come up with something I'd wanna do it (I use TNM to sim a dice-based wrestling RPG I created). I've always wanted to get a list of move damages, both in order of big damage to little and in alphabetical damage- would help on the rare occasion that I have to add a move.

I've done this in Excel but I did it by painstakingly looking up each move in the Control Center and entering in the damage. Once you do this it's a simple matter to sort the moves by damage. Then you can easily set up a template worksheet that will total move damage for you, tell you how much damage you have left or are over etc.
One aggravating thing is that importing a wrestler from a large group of wrestlers will add moves to your move list that no wrestlers are using along with any new moves the imported wrestlers use. You then have to go through the Control Center moves again...

This is why a built-in way of generating this list, or at very least a plug-in would be really really handy!

Not quite what you're looking for but this could be at least somewhat useful...
