Critic of the DawnPosted on 08/26/05 at 04:57:36

As seems to be the general consensus of most TNMers, I'm 23.

ZedjaPosted on 08/26/05 at 07:55:48

I'm 30. Which is the reason I will be away in the end of October-beginning of November, because then I'm going to Japan. (My 30th birthday gift, born in 1975) ;D

I've been using TNM off and on since 1997. But only bought it this year.

I am 42 so i guess that make me the old school member of the TNM community. i grew up watching WWF and CWF in the 70's, and have been a fan ever since.
ZedjaPosted on 08/26/05 at 17:35:33

I don't know about you people, but this makes me feel not as old as I do in other communities :D
HallNashPosted on 08/26/05 at 18:46:16

34 here at least I wasnt the oldest one..:)
doors11Posted on 08/27/05 at 00:58:31

48    I'm the old fart i quess.

I was watching old Texas wrestling and Georgia Championship Wrestling in the mid 70's.

Where in i lived I watched Johnathon Boyd, Norman Charles as the Royal Kangaroos ran wild..Along with Jimmy Snuka and a young Jesse Ventura go at it.There was Sgt Slaughter as Bob  Remus, Dutch Savage the local guy..Bull Ramos, Stan Stasiak and  Playboy Buddy Rose. Every Friday night and watch them on TV on Saturdays.

Oh yeah  Lonnie Mayne,Ron Bass, Ripper Collins and Roddy Pipper would show up for a year or so.

georgia had those Freebirds and all those Cowboys.
Stan Hanson, Blackjack, and others.

So Since i'm the oldest   i ramble on like someone in a nursing home.

And by the way    i love this game.

Check out the link for old pictures of these guys

30... for about another month ;)

It's so interesting to see how many people started out using TNM eight to ten years ago and are still around, even if life has probably taken all of us in different directions.

When the wrestling boom died down, the community got smaller but much more comfy at the same time ;)
ZedjaPosted on 08/27/05 at 18:46:08

Well a guy who used to call himself Batwing got me started with it when we met at a school :)

Yeah... I just made the connection that I've been using TNM since 1997... holy crap that feels so long ago. :)
americamamushiPosted on 08/27/05 at 21:11:53

I can't even remember how long I've been using it.  Around '97 or '98 maybe?  ???
FormulaFirebird91Posted on 08/27/05 at 23:28:41

I can't even remember how I came across TNM to be honest. I think it was a complete accident but I downloaded the trial version and got hooked and bought it and have been messing around with it since 98. It has been a long time wow lol
SeanH529Posted on 08/28/05 at 02:06:49

24 here. I found TNM on Prodigy in the download area back in 1996. The funny thing is back in the day I HATED IT! haha..all that writing?!?! Then for some reason I just kept messing with it and have loved it. I've used to for almost what? 9 years. How many games can you honestly say you've played that long? TNM is great because as long as the community keeps making exports, it can never really die out. You can always make new wrestlers, and the game has evolved so much.

A friend of mine came to visit me this weekend because I am moving to Washington D.C. on monday, and I showed him TNM with all the new plugins. The last plugin he rememberd was the Interview Integrator. So when he saw the images, the themes, the new circuit editor, tweekcircuit, and the Circuit History he almost fainted! The game is terffic, and for someone like me who likes to run LOOONG feds, the new plugins are awesome.

Does ol' Jimmy C (not to be confused with SuperstarJimiC, of course :)) still use the sim?

Actually, I have no idea... gotta ask Kenny B. ;-)
UnrightPosted on 08/28/05 at 13:46:54

I'm 26...

And I've been usin' TNM on and off since '96-'97.

(feels like an AA meeting..)
YunPosted on 08/28/05 at 15:09:27

27, 28 in January. Excluding the Hulkamania phase which every child of the eighties went through, I've been a wrestling fan since '99. I discovered TNM in either 00 or 01 (can't remember) after a Wrestleline columnist used it to simulate a pro wrestling version of "March Madness."
Easyc23Posted on 08/29/05 at 05:46:54

24.  I started watching wrestling in late 89.  I found TNM in maybe 97.  I quit for a few years and just picked it back up this year.  Ahhh good times.
Dragon_XPosted on 08/29/05 at 14:56:37

I'm 29......for now :)

I can't remember exactly how long I have been using TNM, but I do know that it was prior to 1996, when I was in college.  I remember coming across it while searching for wrestling games.  I've been a user ever since.
Jimbo_from_MemphoPosted on 08/29/05 at 23:36:52

I'm 37 and have been using TNM for about four years now. I learned about when someone (not sure who) was running a touranment on either Online Onslaught or Wrestleline a few years ago.
JoeDesertratPosted on 08/29/05 at 23:47:58

46 going on 13. I've been using TNM since 2000. I've watched wrestling since Pedro Morales was the WWWF champ back in the early 70's. Actually saw his title match at Shea Stadium against Bruno Sammartino when Sammartino was making his comeback from a broken neck. Ended up in a tediously disappointing time limit draw. The only real excitement in the match was when George "The Animal" Steele (back in his evil days before he became a somewhat crazy face) tried to get into the ring. At least I'm not the oldest :).
Captain TagonPosted on 08/31/05 at 18:36:49

Turned 21 just like two months ago. Got into TNM when I was like 13 from an e-fed I joined that used it for the matches.
triad4evrPosted on 09/12/05 at 06:02:48

33, soon to be 34, but, as always, going on 15! And I've been doin' the TNM thing since... god, whatever version used to have the built-in tournament function where it would show you who was moving up or down how many slots... 6? And I was a child of the 80s WWF and Saturday Night's Main Event (still have the famous Hogan/Savage match where Hogan bumps Elizabeth and the two started feuding)... kinda got sick of wrestling in the late 80s, then got back in when the Monday Night Wars were heating up (I was working with a bunch of wrestling fans and they dragged me in). And I've always wanted to market a wrestling RPG I wrote (originally) when the first Royal Rumble aired _free_ on network TV (at least I _think_ it was the rumble). Over the years I've rewritten my cheezy little game and I use TNM to sim larger numbers of results (since my game is based on TV wrestling, it's not too hard to figure out what the TNM stats for these original wrestlers should be). Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I expect change!
Glum76Posted on 09/23/05 at 06:34:10

28.   I've been using TNM since 6.2 plus came out.   In a lot of ways, TNM is a dirty little secret for me, even dirtier than being a wrestling fan.  I have learned to live with "You're a wrestling fan?  Don't you know it's not real?"   I absolutely do NOT know how I'd respond to a future "You're a wrestling fan and you use a text-based simulator to create an alternate wrestling universe that you control?"   That's a little bit tougher to explain.  Still, I'm a longtime wrestling fan and a former aspiring writer.   How can I not love TNM and its flexibility?

Started watching in the Hulkamania era, right around Wrestlemania 2. I think I've been stuck in this era ever since!

I am a HUGE fan of WWE 24/7 though, lots of old time goodness and fun!!
