Re: Dual Brand Ruleset...

SuperstarJimiCPosted on 06/22/05 at 23:45:56

Hey Americamamushi, that's a great idea for a ruleset. Dual Feds. That'll work with both my TNA & ROH feds offline.  Thanks!!
HugeRockStar760Posted on 06/23/05 at 18:46:44

Friday is too long to wait for these rules. I can barely run one circuit, much less two brands. These would be helpful and fun to try out. Plus, with the TNA rules, and the ROH rules, the whole wrestling world can be simulated since 2002...

Except for certain indy promotions that are start up by money marks and such.
americamamushiPosted on 06/23/05 at 19:46:44

Your right HRS, Friday is too long to wait till.  That's why I present to you...

The set up and first month of...

The Dual Brand Rules Set-up

Using the Weight Class Wizard may be helpfull for running your circuit as you will be able to seperate your talent into brands while keeping them in the same actual circuit.

- Start by creating your circuit.  You will only be needing a single circuit to run both brands.  As for titles, each brands will start with three.  Both with have a primary singles title that are not exactly the same to help save viewers from confusion. (example; Smackdown has the WWE title while RAW has the World Heavyweight title)  Also both brands will have secondary singles titles.  These should NOT have any special stipulations (ie. no cruiserweight belt, no hardcore belt, ect).  Finally each brand will need a tag team title.

- Next (if you have circuit tweak) set the card multiplier to 9.  Each brand will be running a weekly show and then at the end of the month there will be a PPV that will feature one or both brands.  Since all the wrestlers will be in the same database we must include shows they will not be working as well.  This way we can handle contracts in months.  If you don't have tweak you'll have to do the match and possibly make some adjustments.

- Next we will need to hire wrestlers.  Hire a top heel for each brand and sign them to 36 card contracts (36 months/3 years).  Then hire 14 more wrestlers to 24 card contracts (24 months/2 years).  It might help to hire these wrestlers using tweak, as you may start getting a lot of rejections due to the larger roster number.

- Finally, you need a General Manager for each brand.  It doesn't matter who they are just as long as you have one for each brand.

- Specific rules, time limits, ect are all up to you.

Notes

- Here's how the numbering system works.  It should be pretty straight forward, but just incase someone gets confused.  Each normal television week is numbered.  Each brand's rules for that week will be numbered the same, though brand A rules have an A after the number and Brand B a B after the number.  (Exmaple: For a certain week both brands rules will be number with an 8 followed by a decimal for each rule of that week.  Brand A rules are labeled 8A and Brand B labeled 8B)  PPVs will just be labeled with the number and no brand letter whether it is a joint PPV or not.  Make sense?

Month 1

PPV - Both Brands (Start things off with a bang)

1.0 - Tonight is a big night.  It's the debut of both brands of your federation.  There should be no interpromotional matches however.

1.1 - In your opening match, one of Brand B's bigger names should face a high flyer

1.2 - Next have a singles match with Brand A wrestlers.  A face and a heel that have a history, or at least will put on a good show.

1.3 - Hold another Brand B singles match.

1.4 - Have a tag match with wrestlers from Brand A for the Brand A tag titles.  The heel team should cut a promo before the match.

1.5 - Your next match should also be a Brand A match and it should be for the Brand A secondary title.  Pick two guys you want to be main eventers in the future, but just aren't quite there yet.

1.6 - Hold yet another Brand A Match.

1.7 - This will be your last Brand A match of the night and the Semi-Main Event.  It should feature you Brand A's top face and top heel. The loser should not appear on this week's Brand A show.

1.8 - Your main event will be a Brand B match and it will be for Brand B's main title.  It should showcase Brand B's top face wrestling Brand B's top heel.

------

Week 1 - Brand A

2.0A - Have Brand A's GM make mention of the main Brand A title.  The winners from 1.6 and 1.7 come out and both claim that they deserve a shot at it.  Have the GM sign a match between them in the main event, though make sure the fans know it has nothing to do with the title.

2.1A - Have a match between the wrestler that was pinned and the wrestler that got the pin from 1.4.  After the match have the team that cut the promo in 1.4 cut another promo.  They are forming a stable and have chosen the loser from 1.6 to join them.

2.2A - Hold a tag team match. One of these teams should have a newly hired wrestler (M key)

2.3A - Have the Brand A GM introduce two thugs that he now has under his employ.  Who these two wrestlers are is up to you, but they should not already be under contract.

2.4A - Hold a match between the heel from match 1.2 and a high flyer.  After the match the heel should attack the high flyer, whether the won or lost.

2.5A - Have the stable you formed earlier come out and get some mic time.  The face team from 1.4 come out and attack them.  Have a face come out and help the faces from 1.4.  Idealy this is someone that will make an impact.  Sign them to a 12 card contract.

2.6A - Have the Brand A secondary champion face someone from the opposite side of the roster that is considered hardcore if possible.

2.7A - For the main event have the two main that wanted a title shot at the top of the show face eachother.  Have the Brand B champion make a special surprise appearance and interfere against the wrestler from 1.6.

Week 1 - Brand B

2.1B - Start things of on Brand B just like you did on Brand A, have the GM welcome everyone to the show.  Have them announce that tonight there will be a single elimination gauntlet series and the winner will become the #1 contender for the Brand B Main title.  Also have them announce that their title shot will be at the next PPV.

2.2B - The first match in the gauntlet will be a rematch of rule 1.3.

2.3B - One of your lower card workers is anxious to get into the elimination series, have them convery that to your GM, but don't give them a definite answer.

2.4B - Hold a singles match with a mid to lowercard card heel and a face that could become a star in a few years with some grooming.  Have someone come out and attacks the winner after the match.

2.5B - Have the high flyer from rule 1.1 wrestler a low card wrestler or an out and out jobber.

2.6B - Another wrestler is anxious to be in the gauntlet tonight and wants to talk with the GM about it.  Once again, the wrestler shouldn't get a definite answer.

2.7B - The anxious wrestler from rule 2.3B is backstage and has been annoying the GM.  Have the GM make put the wrestler in a non-title match against your main champion tonight to teach them a lesson.

2.8B - For the next gauntlet match have someone face the winner of 2.2B

2.9B - The wrestler that will face the winner of 2.8B needs to be someone with a great amount of talent.  Have the GM inform this person that they will face the winner of 2.8B in a little bit.

2.10B - Have a match featuring two cruiserweight wrestlers.

2.11B - It's time for the next gauntlet match, book the winner of 2.8B against the talented wrestler from 2.9B.

2.12B - For the semi-main event, hold that non-title match from 2.7B.

2.13B - Have the GM make a BIG announcement.  There is already a defector from Brand A!  The loser from Brand A's main event (Rule 2.7A) has come over to Brand B!  If this is the wrestler that was attacked during the main event by the Brand B champion then his intentions are obvious.  Have the GM make the #1 contender match a triple threat now!  It'll be the winner of 2.11B vs. the bigger name from rule 1.1 vs. the defector!

------

Week 2 - Brand A

3.0A - Open the show by having the GM award the Brand A primary title to the winner of 2.7A.  Have the face from 1.2 come out and complain about the GM just handing over the title.  Have the GM make a match between them tonight

3.1A - Have the heel from 1.2 complain about how his opponent from the last PPV gets a title shot and not him.

3.2A - The man who lost in 1.7 has been gone for a week after a brutal match at the PPV.  Have him cut a promo that tells the fans things aren't over between those two.  If his opponent from 1.7 is the one who jumped ship last week then his should be directed at the newly crowned Brand A champion.

3.3A - Hold the match that the GM Made earlier, your champs first title defense after being handed the title.  Don't actually book this match though, just note that shortly after the bell sounds the heel from 1.2 attacks the challenger.  Have your secondary Brand A champion make the save.

3.4A - Hold a handicap match between the heel team from 1.4 and the wrestler you signed to 12 card in 2.5A.  Have the third member of the stable attack the wrestler wrestler you signed last week, have another new wrestler signed to 6 cards run down to make the save.

3.5A - After what happened in the title match earlier, have the GM make a match for the main event.  This will be a tag match featuring the champ & the heel from 1.2 taking on the face from 1.2 and the secondary champion for brand A.

------

Week 2 - Brand B

3.0B - The high flyer from 2.5B should be in the opening match.  If possible his opponent this week should be someone connected to his opponent last week, but it's ok if it's not.

3.1B - Hold a cruiserweight match again this week.  It can feature one of the wrestlers from 2.10B, but if possible it shouldn't feature both.

3.2B - Hold a match for the Brand B main title against a new wrestler brought in for a 6 card contract.  This new wrestler should be someone who hopefully won't defeat your champion, but in the same regard, isn't just a jobber.

3.3B - Have a confrontation between your Brand B main champion and the current Brand B #1 Contender.

3.4B - The winner from 2.4B and the man who attacked him after his match should have a match tonight.

3.5B - Show some tension between the two losers from 2.13B.  The man that lost in 2.8B should remind them the 3 of them are on a team in the main event.  Speaking of this main event match it will feature those three taking on the team of the #1 contender, the man that lost 2.2B, and the man who lost in 2.11B.

3.6B - Last week two men were really anxious to be in the gauntlet but were not included.  These two should wrestle tonight against eachother.

------

Week 3 - Brand A

4.0A - To start things off we're going to have a re-match of sorts from 3.4A.  Instead of a handicap match though, the lone wrestler from last week will be teaming with the man that saved him.  During the match the third member of the stable should interfere again!  This time joined by another wrestler that is the newest member of their stable.  If one team is the tag champs, this should be a non-title match.

4.1A - Some wrestlers are still angry about the title just being handed over last week.  Have Brand A's GM announce that there will be a 4-way elimination match for the #1 Contendership tonight.  The winner gets a title match at the next PPV.

4.2A - Your Brand A champ should be wrestling in a non-title match tonight against a low card wrestler.

4.3A - The other team from 1.4 (one team has already wrestled tonight) should be in action against the two stable members that interfered in the match in 4.0A.  All four men from 4.0A should interfere in this match.  If one team is your tag champs, this should be a non-title match.

4.4A - It's main event time.  The main event is the  4-way elimination match for the #1 contendership mentioned earlier.  The wrestlers involved should be the champion's tag team partner from last week, his opponent from 2.4A, the secondary Brand A champion, and another wrestler of your choice.

------

Week 3 - Brand B

4.0B - Start your show off with in a big way.  Have your Brand B champion have the wrestler from 3.6B that he hasn't already faced.

4.1B - Hold a tag match.   One team should have the man that lost in 2.2B and a partner of your choice, the other team should feature the man that lost in 2.8B and a new partner brought in with the M Key.

4.2B - Hold a re-match from 1.1.  If one if the #1 contender, then choose a different wrestler from the #1 contenders triple threat that you featured two weeks ago.

4.3B - Have the remaining back from 2.13B wrestle one of the men from the opposite team from last week, though no the #1 contender.  The wrestler from the triple threat in the last match should interfere against the wrestler from the triple threat in this match.

4.4B - After what happened in 4.3B, the wrestler interfered against isn't happy.  Have your GM grant him a match at the PPV between him and the man that interfered against him.

4.5B - Put the wrestler from 3.6B that already had faced your champ in a match against your #1 contender for your main event.  The champ should interfere against the #1 contender.

------

Week 4 - Brand A

5.0A - Another wrestler has jumped brands!  Have the GM introduce a low card wrestler from Brand B.  As a reward for jumping ship, they will be wrestling tonight against the man who was the secondary champion's partner in 3.5A.

5.1A - Hold a tag team title match.  This should not be a re-match from 1.4.

5.2A - Have your secondary champion defend their title against the main champions partner from 3.5A.

5.3A - Have the man signed to 12 cards from 2.5A wrestle a member of the stable he's been involved with since entering your federation.  The rest of the stable should interfere during or after the match.  Have him be saved by the team two stable members faced in 1.4 and another wrestler of your choice.  This will set up a match for your PPV this weekend.

5.4A - Since this is the last Brand A show before the PPV, we need to end things in a big way.  Your Brand A champion is going to defend his title.  Before he can announce who he's facing, have him be attacked by the man he'll be facing at the PPV.  After refs, Security, road agents, ect break this up and bring him to the back allow the champ to finally announce and start his match.  He's wrestling a low card worker that doesn't have a shot at winning the title.  After the match the #1 contender should attack the champion again as the show ends.

------

Week 4 - Brand B

5.0B - Start things off with two of your lighter guys in a singles match

5.1B - Put your main brand B champion in non-title action against a midcard wrestler, preferably one that you someday want to be a star.

5.2B - Have a re-match from 4.1B, the one that lost in 2.2B should have a different partner though.

5.3B - Have the GM from Brand A appear on the show as a surprise.  Have them challenge Brand B to an interpromotional tag match at the PPV.  Brand A's team should be the two wrestlers that the GM introduced in rule 2.3A.  Have the GM's make a bet over who's team with win, preferably with an embarrassing stipulation attatched.

5.4B - Hold another tag team match.  It should feature the man that asked for a PPV match in 4.4B and the man he will be facing in that match taking on the team that Brand B's GM has decided to put up against Brand A.  This will be your last match of the evening, however you may want to have a confrontation between the two men wrestling for the primary Brand B singles title to help build to their match.  Involve the wrestler the #1 contender faced in 4.5B somehow.

------

PPV - Both Brands

6.0 - To open your second PPV, hold the 8-man tag mentioned in 5.3A.

6.1 - Next hold a Brand A secondary title match.  It should feature the champion taking on the man that lost in 5.0A.

6.2 - Hold a match between the wrestlers that lost 2.2B and 2.8B.

6.3 - Hold the interpromotional tag match mentioned in 5.3B.

6.4 - Next up it's the match for Brand A's primary title between the champ and the #1 contender.  Have the wrestler that was upset with the title being handed over from 3.0A comes down after the match help the wrestler that was champion before the match (whether they are afterwards or not) join forces with them and help put a little extra beating into their opponent.

6.5 - Have the match made in 4.4B take place next.

6.6 - For your main event have the Brand B champion defend their title against Brand B's #1 ontender
HugeRockStar760Posted on 06/23/05 at 20:55:38

Do these rules assume you already have champions? This appears to pick up from when Eric Bischoff was introduced as RAW General Manager.
americamamushiPosted on 06/23/05 at 21:49:51

When you start all belts should be vacant.
SuperstarJimiCPosted on 06/24/05 at 00:14:28

I like those Dual Brand rules. They will work in TNM7.

Thanks... but ummm... why would i bother writing them if they didn't work in TNM7?? ;)
Snabbit888Posted on 06/24/05 at 01:20:08

Because Chris, you are like the Bill Gates of TNM!

[Sets mode "Lame Joke" to OFF]
HugeRockStar760Posted on 06/26/05 at 21:51:38

Are you sure these rules will work with TNM? Or will I need to update my computer?  :-/

Seriously, you should post some of your results using these rules. I'd be interested in seeing how they work. I'm still trying to think of a roster and even a promotion to use. I guess the WWE because that's really creative.  ???

I'll upload the little test circuit I'm doing sometime.  It's extremely bare bones though.  No write ups and usually just a sentance or two saying that theres an interview and what happens when the rules call for it.  But anyway, I'll upload it sometime if you're still interested.  I held a random draft using the current WWE roster and a random number generator to pick my rosters for RAW and Smackdown.  After that I have TNA guys on the database as well though when I need to hand pick someone to hire I'll probably try and stick to WWE guys until I run out.

That's a good idea. I've tried the random number generator myself too. I put everyone in Excel and their row number is what is used by the random generator to pick a wrestler.

I'd be partial to Oliver creating a random generator.
Jimbo_from_MemphoPosted on 08/10/05 at 16:29:16

Just for a clarification. When you said to hire 14 more wrestlers, you did mean 14 more wrestlers for each brand, right?
americamamushiPosted on 08/10/05 at 19:43:39

Yes, 14 for each brand.

Also for clarification this project is not dead, just on the far back burner for now.  I've been considering scrapping the first month of rules and starting from scratch with a different format when I pick it up again (a format like the PWWTNM Rules) as I don't think I like how the week by week rules are turning out and doing it like PWWTNM was my original idea anyway.
