So what is it...

that makes TNM a game/program you never get bored with? I mean, I admit it. I have tried EWR, TEW and Fighting Spirit... even paid a lot of money for it... but I always get bored within a short amount of time.

The trial period of TEW was like 1 day, and Fighting Spirit was like 1 month of play time... not enough to get you bored. So I was stupid enough to pay the dough.. then I got seriously bored. I mean, the longest I've ever played with TEW was a TNA game lasting 6 months of playtime. I have been using TNM on and off for the last 6 years, god damnit! Still, Adam Ryland's games have a greater audience. Why is this, I don't get it.

The bottom line is... TNM is the greatest wrestling simulator of all time.. why doesn't everyone realize that?

OK, enough rant.. but seriously.. do anyone ever get bored with TNM?

I've never gotten bored with TNM.  I've used it just about every day I've had access to my computer since I discovered it which was... wow... so long ago I can't even remember... ummmm... 98? 99?  A while. :)

I've never been able to get further than a month or so playing EWR.  The original ones I could play a bit more, but EWR just can't hold my attention long enough.

I downloaded the trial of TEW, tried fiddling with a few things, started the process of creating a new game... paused for a second, closed the program and played TNM instead.  Never even used the trial, just let it expire.  Never bothered downloading Fighting Spirit.

I don't care what anyone says, as far as I'm concerned EWR & TEW are TNM's bitch.  ;)

I've gotten bored from time to time.. But it usually takes a long time..

Although sometimes it's just wrestling fatigue. If the storyliens are getting really spastic, none of my favorites are getting pushes, etc.. I'll just stop with wrestling for 1 half year, or year or something..

I've been using TNM since 5.something or another...and I've yet to get bored of it. I've gone through 5 computers and it's the only thing that I install on ever one.

1) TNM is a great program because of it's flexibility with the shows. TEW is a great program, but you're limited to a certain number of segments, rather basic angles and no real creativity. I can't tell you how boring most peoples TEW circuits are - I'd much rather someone say to me "wow, look at this great interview I wrote" than "wow, look at this number, it's what my last card drew... that's about it". As I've always said, if you want to run a wrestling promotion, get TEW. If you want to book a wrestling promotion, get TNM. As far as I'm concerned, the interesting part of any wrestling company is the shows they run, not how much money they make, and I'm more likely to check up on wacky new characters than Linda McMahons quarterly shareholders meeting.

2) Adam Rylands games are probably popular because they were free for so long. I usually don't bother with something if there's only a trial and only downloaded TNM on a whim to kill a few hours originally (circa 99). Plus, to be fair to Ads, he's put together a very nice program, but I need complete control over every minor detail, plus I'm the sort who gets a kick out of writing complete crap, which I can do with TNM.

3) I'll only get bored with TNM if I go a long time without using it for whatever reason. As I noted on another thread, I had recent computer troubles and ended up not using TNM for a few months and it's taken me ages to get motivated to do another card. Now I have, I've suddenly found myself churning out several cards. Always happens.

Cards I owe you feedback for, by the way. :)

And when are you posting new stuff, Snabster?

Shrotly... I got about half a card written last night, the first real writing I've done in some time.  Shortly, I'm kind of rehauling GCW slightly to make it a bit lesser of a burden on me (roster cuts to make things more manageable, losing High Voltage, etc.)  So... woo.
