Sell me on the Weight Class Wizard

VertigoPosted on 04/05/05 at 04:00:29

The TNM website doesn't have many details on the plugin that I could find and I know many of you have the plugin.

Can you guys tell me what exactly can be done with this thing? I've heard good things. I could download the trial, but even still I wouldn't use it to it's full potential without you guys telling me the possibilities of it.

Basically it allows you to set things up so you have a little more control over your rankings.  For example, you can:

Set up seperate Cruiserweight and Heavyweight Divisions, with a given weight being the cut off point.  You can also manually override that if you wish (for example, if you think Rey Misterio Jr. should be in the US Title hunt on SmackDown rather than going after the Cruiserweight belt).

Seperate your men and women in the rankings, although this would take a bit more effort, I believe.

Create a roster split in one circuit, with seperate champions and rankings for each.

Set given belts to be limited to members of a single division.  If you set the Cruiserweight Title to only contain people ranked in the Cruiserweight Weight Class, its list of contenders will only contain people from that class.

You can also limit belts to a certain style of wrestling.  Want a hardcore belt?  Set it so that only brawlers and people that use hardcore tactics qualify to appear in the contender's list.

The contender's list mentioned here is a slightly more realistic list of top contenders.  It takes the top few wrestlers from the available rankings for that belt (you can select how many, but the default is 5), and ranks them according to how many wins and losses they have against each other and the champion.  For example, if you have Triple H as your champion and Bill Goldberg is ranked #2 in your Heavyweight Rankings, but he has lost a few times when challenging Triple H, he'll probably be at the bottom of the contender's list, while someone that's had more success against him will be higher.  So if someone only barely makes it into the top five, but most of his wins have been against other top names, he could be the top contender.

One thing the Weight Class Wizard doesn't do is force you to obey your own restrictions while booking cards.  You can still choose Mark Henry to win the Cruiserweight Title if you really want to.  The WCW is simply a time saver and a convenient tool for organizing and improving the utility of your rankings.

It also lets ya spit out rankings and contender lists lightning fast as .txt files right on the desktop if you wish, which helps a lot when you've got a big fed. Very handy, that. I have a WWE style federation with split titles, and I would never have tried to keep that straight without the Weight Class Wizard. If you like hand-picking your top contenders and have a small fed, you probably don't need it, but if you have a larger fed, a split fed, lotsa titles, or just like having an someone else keep track of the top contenders, you _need_ the Weight Class Wizard.
