Ryan... Can't wait to get the new arena plugin going...... Only one problem. :(

When I try and D/L it, it says the files (.ZIP) is corrupted. Bummer.

Any chance to put a new one up (or to email me a copy) or is it my browser that is doing this?

not sure why that error comes up but if you save it somewhere then open it, it works fine.
Critic of the DawnPosted on 01/29/05 at 15:52:26

I have a question about this plugin.  I've seen it in use before, but most times it seems to be used in national or larger promotions that can sell out 10,000+ seat arenas.

Considering the state of the wrestling industry at the moment, is it capable of realistically portraying smaller promotions?  For example, if you were playing a ROH type promotion, would you end up selling out every small building  (Assorted National Guard Armories, the RexPlex, etc) you ran in?  Or would it be able to portray a large indy that drew in the neighborhood of 500 to 2000 fans to most of its shows accurately?

If it can handle the smaller stuff, I might be inclined to give it a shot.

when i try & run the Arena Editor i get an error:

"A required DLL fill MSVBVM60.DLL was not found."

Anything that can explain or fix it?

RyanSolbergPosted on 01/29/05 at 19:40:46

firstly,  iit doesn't matter  the arena size. ticket sales are determined thrrew number of Matches and advertisements. So if its 500 seat bingo hall and you just do 6 matches and posters, you won't sell out. Same if its 15,000 seats. but if you  do tv advertisements you'll hhave more chance to sell out.
Second I haven't had that error on 2 pcs but let me look into that file.

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvbvm60

you can get the dll there. Anybody else have that error, if so ill put the dll on my site.

I actually got a Run-Time Error '53'

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Sam

Did you try and run it from double clicking on the program itselt?  Cause it's a plug in.  I got some sort of runtime error when I was cutting and pasting it into the new plugins folder and accidently hit enter.
RyanSolbergPosted on 01/30/05 at 02:28:34

true true. guys it is a plugin and has to ran from tnm7 not a standalone program. thanks americamamushi.
RyanSolbergPosted on 01/30/05 at 03:49:21

Well if you get any errors and Arena V1.2 plugin is also installed and you are running it from within TNM7 then please go to my site again and under the plugins section, download and use missingfiles.zip.

also I fixed the download so now you can just open it.
TNM7Posted on 01/30/05 at 05:17:13

Hey guys!

yes... I will let ya know what went wrong... and how I fixed it. lol

As I was setting up the Arena plug-in program, for one reasone or another, it was not cut/pasting correctly, so Arena 1 and Arena 2 contents were in the same folder and/or the wrong folder.

Once I figured it out and got what when where, it all worked out well!!

Thanks for the help. :-

hmm...what about the rings guys?  Anybody incorporated the fact that TNA has a 6 sided ring into this...?
Snabbit888Posted on 02/01/05 at 06:58:11

Are there that many differences textually between a match run with 4 sides or 6 sides?
RyanSolbergPosted on 02/01/05 at 12:34:55

i don't think having a 6 sided ring sells more tickets.
Critic of the DawnPosted on 02/01/05 at 15:46:51

If you want to be technical, it doesn't seem to sell any tickets, what with TNA tapings being free to attend and all... ;D

I honestly think that you can find many differences between the 4 and 6 sided rings...Less regular ring space in TNA...I definitely think the matches have a much different flow to them than in WWE
americamamushiPosted on 02/02/05 at 16:04:40

Matches are quite different in a 6-sided ring in real life, but of course much of the flow that you speak of in a 6-sided ring match in TNA comes from the X-Division, which I've never seen worked in a regular ring so I can't really say how different it'd actually be.

The point being made here is what would need to be different in the text to make it a 6-sided ring?    I'm pretty confident in saying that there isn't anything you can add to make it different.  Just tell people to keep in mind that when they read you're cards they are watching it in a 6-sided ring... or an 8-sided ring... or a circular ring with two turnbuckles opposite eachother and magically curved ropes... or a ring shaped like a dog...
rey619Posted on 02/02/05 at 16:08:34

Leather strap matches where you have to hit all turnbuckles would be a little different, and to be technical, you could have six-corner matches instead of four corner matches.
americamamushiPosted on 02/02/05 at 18:25:26

hmm... those hadn't occured to me.

To be fair, you could quite easily edit a match requiring 4 turnbuckle hits to be 6 manually.

A 5 or 6-corners match would be a different story though.  I can't remember, has TNA done this?
CarlzillaPosted on 02/04/05 at 06:46:11

No matter what arena I choose, it always uses the capacity from the last arena in the .dat file as the arena capacity.

Is anyone else having, or has anyone else had this problem. Is there a fix...thanks in advance.

No, but when was the last time you saw an old-fashioned four-corner match as well? Nowadays, it's triple threats and fatal fourways.  I believe TNA has had some 6-man elimination matches for the X division contendership, but that was before the six-sided ring methinks.
SuperstarJimiCPosted on 03/25/05 at 20:56:05

Hey Ryan, I haven't heard from you in a while, I guess you're still working on the Backstage/GM Plugin.
