Legends TNM Superleague

I was just wondering what the interest level would be in attempting to start a superleague that would only use wrestlers from the kayfabe era (70s, 80s, etc) and would use territories for user circuits?

It could be run using just the NWA and it's territories, or it could also include the WWWF and AWA.

I don't think I've ever seen a TNM Superleague using only old school wrestlers from that kayfabe era.

I'm just throwing the idea out there for discussion. I know there's been quite a few Superleagues, but this one could be more interesting. Especially for the fans of old school wrestling.

It could work. If enough people decide to do this (and stick with it), each person could select a territory and a roster. Those people could also run the committee which could decide who is NWA (or whatever it will be called) Champion and that champion could move throughout different territories...

I think it would be pretty cool. I'm a huge fan of early-mid 80's wrestling myself...

It would also require each member of the alliance to have a different TNM setup with only wrestlers from that time period imported. It would probably require an official export of all the kayfabe wrestlers on the main page, and any other exports that need to be created or cloned for a wrestler's other gimmicks.

There is a NWA ruleset on Josh Liller's website which is lengthy and could serve as a basis for running the alliance.

The thing I like about running a territory system is that a lot of the big name wrestlers could switch from territory to territory often (depending on which wrestlers have written or open contracts). Many times I think people stop being interested in TNM-MPs because they are left with the wrestlers everyone else didn't want.

I was thinking that the superleague would start in the year 1980. The territories would be based on the actual member promotions of the NWA and the other promotions such as Mid-South, AWA, and WWWF (unless it was still in the NWA at the time) would run independently of the NWA, unless they wanted to be included.

Also, it would not be necessary to have a card submitted each week, depending on which territory is in question. I'm sure some territories only did like one show per month, much like ROH.

A separate board would need to be created. Whether it be on here or elsewhere on another message board is irrelevant, just as long as there is a central place for everyone to discuss events surrounding the territories.

However, I wouldn't want to be the main person doing this. It would need to be a group effort.

The bottom line is that if there is no interest, it's pointless even trying to go further. I'll just consider using Troy's TNM-UV plugin.
