Help needed

YunPosted on 03/08/05 at 13:07:42

I need suggestions for a fed to be posted in the forums. It'll be an Austin, Texas based indy fed trying to be, for Texas, what PWG is for SoCal, what ROH is for the Northeast, and what IWA-MS is for the Midwest... basically part of the emerging new indy territory system.

What I need help on is finding relatively well known indy wrestlers from the state of Texas (or Louisiana or Oklahoma.) I want to try not to build the fed primarily around imports (although there will be some of those,) but I'd also rather not have to build a fed around the likes of Fast Eddie and Biohazard if I can avoid it.  :-/

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I know that Kazushi Miyamoto is wrestling in Texas right now...although he'd definatly be an import. He won some Texas feds title though, so you might want to consider him.

Michael Shane works the indy circuit, and he's from San Antonio.  He's a pretty decent worker and plays a great heel, so he might be somebody to build the company around.

Yeah, he and Paul London were the first two guys I thought of (along with Spanky and American Dragon who trained in San Antonio) but I was trying to avoid them because of the TNA/WWE issue. The more I think about it, though, that's a relatively simple workaround (if Vertigo can bring Hayabusa to a full recovery, getting Paul London out of a contract should be comparitively simple  ;D )

what about Don Juan,Rudy Boy and any of the Guerreros?

Here are some indy workers that work in Texas.  They all work for NWA: Southwest which runs shows out of Texas & Oklahoma

Hotstuff Hernandez, Al Jaclson, Cyclone, Bobby 2Badd, Harley Johnson, Chaz Taylor, Joseph, Samir, Brett Bonz, Tatantula, Doink (Pretty sure it's NOT Matt Borne), Gemini, Cajun Kid, Steve Anthony, Chris Jeckyll, Max Muscles, Terry Bryant, Kevin Northcut, John Saxon, Seth Shai, Super T, Tejano Kid, Livewire, Larry Green, Chuck West, Psycho Simpson, JP Black, Chris Young, Michael Barry, Tim Warcloud, Tejas

Some people that work in NWA: Oklahoma (i'll try not to repeat people from above)...

Juice, Daniel Flynn, Gary Gram, Moon Dog Rex, Chris Matthews, Dexter Hardaway, Big Daddy Moore, Chris Candido, Scotty Charisma, Derek Stone, Griz, Krow, Slyck Wagner Brown, Thunderbolt, Bobby Eaton

Some people that work for a Christian wrestling federation in Texas...

Chris Idol, Cowboy Stan, Devestator, El Tiburun, Freight Train, Jeramy Jett, Jesus Freak, Lash Laroux, Mace, Manny Domingo, Scottie Wrenn, Tom Storm, J.T> Stahr, Caprice Coleman

People that work for SRPW out of Tulsa, OK...

Brent Albright, Adam Thornstowe, Beau Dalton, Bernard Funk, Bobby Burns, Brad Brigg, Brandon Groom, Brian Justice, Chris Kahne, Codie Mullins, Dave the Rave, Dirty Harry Sanchez, Ian St. James, Jack Dalton, John O'Malley, Kenny Campbell, Luc Lapointe, Original Renegade, Pork Chop, Shane Morbid, The Great Bolo, The Prophet, Timmy J, TY Magnus, Anarchy, Bobby Dalton, Cade Sydal, Ichiban V. 2.0, Mitch Carter, Ned Tendo, Tyler Bateman, X-Cal

People that wrestle for XCW out of Tulsa, OK...

Action Jackson, John Allen, Jacob Ladder, Convict 187, Manny Fernandez, Mike Foxx, Brett Barnes, C-Diddy, Eddie Atlas, Jared Steele, Chance Romance, Eric Idol, Bull, Lenny Lane, Jack Drastic, Scott Phoenix, Drunk Adam, Spudz McKenzie, Dusty Wolfe, Kit Karson, Sidd Murder, G-Mini, Ricky Jackson, B-Dogg, Bullman Downs, Martin Styles, Craig Jerikho, Krusher Kong, Homeless Hugh Rogue

There are a few names that will ring a bell more than others, but plenty of area indy workers in general.  Plus if you're trying to be a big indy player like ROH is then it wouldn't be that unthinkable to pull in a TNA name or two or have bigger indy names travel in, though you'd probably want to keep in mind they'd have other bookings if you are going for realism.

I'm pretty sure americamushi has got you covered there.

Haha, CotD has actually managed to get London out of a WWE contract in his LIW circuit. As for Hayabusa's recovery... it's awesome... he's likely to become the biggest star in my circuit at this point!

Wow! Is that what the "D" in DCW stood for?
