Build 3b?

Tom_ImpPosted on 01/23/05 at 18:53:54

Hey Oliver. I know you put up that link to tell everyone what each plugin does, but nowhere can I find any info on the new files that update us to Build 3b.

What was changed and/or added?
Oliver CoppPosted on 01/23/05 at 23:06:09

Nothing much was changed. I did some internal tweaks which you likely won't notice. I did realize, though, that I had fixed a few minor bugs and updated the ring introduction routines. Since not everybody had access to every changed file, I just put up the very latest program files and dubbed them "Build 3b".

I'm sorry that I can't give you a detailed rundown of how Build 3 and Build 3b differ but I honestly don't remember what it was that I changed over the past few months.
Oliver CoppPosted on 01/23/05 at 23:07:08

Oh, and in case I misunderstood: if you're looking for the actual update files, look no further than any non-forum page on TNM7.COM (right-hand side of the screen) or in the official Downloads section.

My bad for not being clearer. No, I already had upgraded to Build 3b. I just wasn't sure what changed.

I think the next one will either be called Build 3c or Build 4 and will have all Easter Eggs unlocked without having to do something first.
Snabbit888Posted on 01/25/05 at 19:20:24

Even those 3 magical easter eggs we never got hints for!? :)
Oliver CoppPosted on 01/25/05 at 23:13:21

Let me rephrase that: the ones that have been discovered so far  ;D
Snabbit888Posted on 01/25/05 at 23:35:23

You scoundrel!

If I was a better negotiator, I would try to convince you to give us hints, but I'm not. :)
Critic of the DawnPosted on 01/26/05 at 04:53:39

After all this time, a hint to at least ONE of them would seem to be in order.  After all, what's the fun of an easter egg if nobody can figure out where the heck it is?

Maybe you could give a reasonably obscure hint and have a contest where the first person to find it wins a plugin of their choice or something.  I dunno.

There are more hidden easter eggs? Past the ones cracked by the eggme file? I wonder what options they unveil... proper 3 or 4-way dance???   ;D

I can always hope..

But serious.. give us a vague hint.. please....   ;)
Oliver CoppPosted on 01/30/05 at 18:12:07

Eric --- I'd love to give you hints on how to make them happen but they are ones that just appear out of the blue in certain situations. If these situations aren't triggered in your matches, they simply won't happen. It's not that you have to unlock them. They are spots.
Shaun SindelmanPosted on 01/30/05 at 18:37:16

not sure if this is 1 of the hidden `spots' but i recently saw in someone's PBP the following:

** Low-Ki collapses on the ground holding his arm.
Rudy Charles checks on Low-Ki.
Rudy Charles motions to the timekeeper to ring the bell.
Rudy Charles signals for EMTs to tend to Low-Ki.

and the match was declared a NO CONTEST.
Rick GarrardPosted on 01/30/05 at 19:15:45

Can't say I've seen that one yet Shaun.  Then again I don't have brutal stiffs working for me.
Oliver CoppPosted on 01/30/05 at 19:53:06

That'd be one, yes :)
triad4evrPosted on 01/31/05 at 05:22:36

Wow! I just had this one in a major, major match, with a champion going down! I was blown away! I figured it was a new feature... never considered it would be an Easter Egg! Might I ask, what triggers this one?
Snabbit888Posted on 01/31/05 at 05:31:58

I thought I remembered Oliver mentioning that could happen in matches at some point when the matches being stopped due to injury thing was implemented.  What makes that different?  Maybe I'm just missing something. :)
SockoPosted on 01/31/05 at 06:16:40

Would 'the ref playing possum' be another by any chance? :)
k_mungePosted on 02/02/05 at 23:27:06

I just had a brilliant idea....For new plugins or extra features Oliver, you could maybe update and implement some new easter eggs w/ hints of course from the last decade...matches from 95-05....i.e. implementing the Montreal Screwjob...the Hogan NWO Swerve...and many others that I can't think of off the top of my head....you could call it

TNM: A Decade of Hidden Treasures....

yeah...It may sound corny but this was thought of while I was doing my Economics homework...
Oliver CoppPosted on 02/06/05 at 14:09:55

It's a reward that TNM triggers for what it considers good booking on your part - to give you a different finish for once which can then be used to further storylines =)

I don't consider my overriding my booking in a title match a "reward."  :)
americamamushiPosted on 02/07/05 at 02:36:31

I think he means that it gives you an interesting finish. ;)

It's not the infamous WCW finger poke of doom is it Olly? :)
Snabbit888Posted on 02/07/05 at 04:57:59

Oh, and kind of going back to the start of this thread, one thing I had noticed new with Build 3b (before I had to go back to Build 3) was that on the Who's Hot?  Who's Not! list, wrestlers not under contract were no longer listed.

It's the point when this happens. Sometimes, it's random. And sometimes, it is calculated well in advance and when you then book the match in question - *wham*.

TNM 7 SE Build 3 contains some logic that analyzes what happens in your circuit and then comes up with potentially really good and productive feuds. If you happen to go down the same road, you're bound to run into a few surprises along the way =)

Well, you could say that but it's just something small :)
