Next Sale on Programs/Plug-Ins?

kurropt_antagonistPosted on 01/22/05 at 22:08:41

Just curious when the plug-ins and etc. will be on sale again.

My only complaint about TNM7 has always been the price.

No offense, but given that I can so many other text-based programs for FREE, I just can't see paying almost 30 dollars for a few plug-ins.  And over 20 bucks for the main program itself...

I mean, I don't mind a small fee for a program [and the quality support Oliver gives] that I've used almost non-stop the last 2 weeks (not to mention the last 2 years), but... 60 dollars seems a bit much to me...

I hope I'm not out of line.  I'm just the stingiest, cheapest bastard you'll ever meet. ;D

Not wanting to pay is one of the principles that America was founded on!

However, when you consider how much lasting appeal TNM has, the price tag of the basic program plus the plugins you'll use (which comes to about $50 in total) is a damn good deal.  If you enjoy the game for as many years as I have (it must have been 3 or 4 by now...) and calculate the costs of everything, it ends up being pennies per hour.  Most good novels cost about a buck an hour these days.  Video games are probably a buck and a half per hour on average, because most of them don't hold players attention for long.  Seeing a movie is four bucks an hour, and more if you get popcorn.

In light of this, TNM is a great deal.  With the amount of time Oliver has invested into the program over the past 10 odd years, he deserves a few bucks back.

Exactly.  The replay value of TNM is immense, because the only thing that really limits it is your imagination.  And hell, you don't HAVE to buy every plugin.  There's a few plugins I used religiously, and others I have no use for.  It's just a matter of your personal preferences.

Yeah, I don't mind paying a few bucks for the greatest game that's ever been installed on any of my computers.

antangonist - drop me a line with what you'd like and we'll see what kind of deal I can cut you.

The main reason why I keep doing "special sales" is exactly to address the pricing issue.

This is why I love Oliver and TNM7.  Very few would do this for their (potential) customers (and actually mean it).

I see the guys point...It would be awesome to have a buy 2 get 1 free or some sort of discount if you say buy multiple plug-ins...Cause odds are, most people like atleast 2-3 of the plugins released...I most certainly would be down for that Oliver
