Here's some classic wrestling questions just for fun i'll have the answears in 4 days.

1. Who was The Masked Superstar (hint:he had a feud with hogan in both the gimmicks he had.)

2.Whats was the bushwackers first tag team names.

3.How many years has jeff jarrett been wrestling (p.s. thats could be spelled wrong.)

4. waht wrestlers were in the ring for the shortest and longest amount of time in the 1991 royal rumble

5. What was duntin runnels shortest lived gimmicks

6.what wrestler broke andre the giants leg in the early 80's.

7. here's an easy one whats was rikishis gimmick before rikishi.

and thats it guess away.
91Posted on 09/11/04 at 05:33:59

1. That would be Bill "Demolition Ax" Eadie.

2. The Sheepherders. Unless there's an obscure one before that I don't know about.

3. Nowwwww, if memory serves me correctly, he debuted in 1986, which would be eighteen years ago.

4. Shortest - Bushwacker Luke. Longest - Rick "The Model" Martel, who used to be my favourite back then.

5. That's Seven, right? Did they spell it, like, "Se7en" or was I imagining things?

6. Killer Khan.

7. Well, could be a trick question, so I'll cover my bases. Immediately before Rikishi, he was called "Rikishi Phatu" (if you're being REALLY technical). Before that, he was doing the old Samoan Swat Team stuff on the house shows as Fatu. That said, I assume you mean his last gimmick in the big leagues - that would be The Sultan.
meetzorakPosted on 09/11/04 at 05:52:58

everything right except the first question which was mr.wonderful paul orndroff
91Posted on 09/11/04 at 06:06:30

Sorry, but I've got to dispute that. Not that I want to sound bitchy or anything.
91Posted on 09/11/04 at 06:14:34

While I'm here, it'd be rude of me not to throw in a few questions of my own. Here's a couple I've liked in the past...

1. What connects Tiger Mask and Jushin Lyger? (hint: in a way, you could also include one of Brad Armstrongs old characters in that list)

2. Which two matches had a pin in under a minute at Wrestlemania X?

3. Which wrestler won a major title, then never got to so much as touch the belt? And I'm not talking some stupid "guy wins the hardcore title for ten second" stuff, or anything based on an angle.

4. Who comes next in the following sequence: Rick Martel, Jim Duggan, Doink, Jerry Lawler?

5. Who was the first man to have competed for the world, IC and tag titles at Wrestlemania, be it as defending champion or challenger?

6. Who is the only man to have been King of the Ring twice?

7. Name ten wrestlers to have held WWWF/WWF/WWE titles that have been born in Europe.

PLEASE ANSWEAR TO THESE QUESTIONS PLEASE INDULGE ME IN THE ANSWEARS
Rick GarrardPosted on 09/11/04 at 07:08:33

The Masked Superstar is in fact Bill Eadie.. aka Demoilition Ax aka Axis the Demolisher (a name he used briefly while he was negotiating to buy his name from the WWF after he left there).
cerberosPosted on 09/11/04 at 07:34:53

Wasn't Rikishi doing that whole "Make a Difference" street gang thing before Rikishi Phatu?

Geno
91Posted on 09/11/04 at 17:30:30

The Sultan (circa 96-97) came between "Time to Make a Change" Fatu (95-96) and Rikishi (99-).
meetzorakPosted on 09/11/04 at 18:55:52

it was paul orndroff and i stick to my story garrad your wrong so is 91 but at least he was nice about the whole thing i have 8mm film to prove it can't you guys just understand you got one of the 24 questins i asked wrong jeez.

JustinPosted on 09/12/04 at 01:22:15

Paul Orndorff wasn't the Masked Superstar.... AX was... look on ObsessedWithWrestling.com....... However for a short time Big John Studd wrestled as The Masked Superstar 2 & he did feud with Hogan

Holy crap those are tough questions!  Lemme take a shot . . .

1. What connects Tiger Mask and Jushin Lyger? (hint: in a way, you could also include one of Brad Armstrongs old characters in that list)

I can't find any connection at all except that they were Light Heavyweight Champions.

2. Which two matches had a pin in under a minute at Wrestlemania X?

There was only one, that being Earthquake over Adam Bomb.  At Wrestlemania IX, however, Hulk Hogan went over Yokozuna in under a minute, so if you meant two Wrestlemania matches total, that would be the other.

3. Which wrestler won a major title, then never got to so much as touch the belt? And I'm not talking some stupid "guy wins the hardcore title for ten second" stuff, or anything based on an angle.

I'm not sure, but my guess would be Chris Benoit when he defeated Sid right before jumping to WWF.

4. Who comes next in the following sequence: Rick Martel, Jim Duggan, Doink, Jerry Lawler?

I don't think they were even all active wrestlers in the same promotion at the same time, so I have no clue.  They didn't feud with each other, either, nor have they all held the same titles.  What could be the relation?

5. Who was the first man to have competed for the world, IC and tag titles at Wrestlemania, be it as defending champion or challenger?

I don't understand what exactly you're asking here.  No one has ever wrestled for all three on the same Wrestlemania.  If you mean spread out over multiple Wrestlemanias, however, then the answer is, I believe, Chris Benoit.  He won the IC Title at Wrestlemania 2000 in a match with Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle, lost a match for the Tag Team Titles with Rhyno at Wrestlemania XIX involving the Guerreros and Haas/Benjamin, then beat Triple H and Shawn Michaels for the World Title at Wrestlemania XX.

6. Who is the only man to have been King of the Ring twice?

Bret Hart.

7. Name ten wrestlers to have held WWWF/WWF/WWE titles that have been born in Europe.

The British Bulldog, William Regal, Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant, Chris Adams, Dynamite Kid, Mark Rocco, Karl Gotch, Nikolai Volkoff, and Tony Parisi.

Whew, that was tough!
JustinPosted on 09/12/04 at 13:29:41

Kurt Angle is the only man to be in to PPV King of The Ring Tournament 2000 & 2001
JustinPosted on 09/12/04 at 13:32:46

Chris Adams never worked for the WWE/WWF/WWWF

Bruno Sammartino would be the 10th man
Rick GarrardPosted on 09/12/04 at 14:44:19

Also Piper was born in Canada, so I'd replace him with William Regal as he was once the European Champion.
meetzorakPosted on 09/12/04 at 16:32:48

or replace piper with the british bulldogs instead of bulldog if memory serves me right they were tag champs at some point
JustinPosted on 09/12/04 at 17:19:41

Davey Boy Smith, William Regal, Andre the Giant, Dynamite Kid, Nikolai Volkoff, Tony Parisi, Antonio Pugliese, Bruno Sammartino, Karl Gotch, Dominic DeNucci
JustinPosted on 09/12/04 at 17:23:05

5. Who was the first man to have competed for the world, IC and tag titles at Wrestlemania, be it as defending champion or challenger?

Bret Hart

Wrestlemania 7 lost the World Tag Title to the Nasty Boys
Wrestlemania 8 defeated Piper for the I-C Title
Wrestlemania 9 lost the WWF Title to Yokozuna
JustinPosted on 09/12/04 at 17:29:53

3. Which wrestler won a major title, then never got to so much as touch the belt? And I'm not talking some stupid "guy wins the hardcore title for ten second" stuff, or anything based on an angle.

Shawn Michaels:
The Rockers once won the WWF tag Titles at a tv taping in a best of 3 falls match but since the top rope came off during the final fall the descision was reversed & the titles returned to the Hart Foundation

91Posted on 09/12/04 at 17:53:58

OK, let's cover what's been done and hint towards the answers.

1. Nobody got this - it's more to do with the characters than anything they've ever done.

2. Anubis got one. There IS a second, but it's a bit of a trick question. I'll note that the Quake/Bomb match was the only one to finish in under a minute...

3. Benoit's not a bad guess, but he did get to hold the belt on the night. It didn't happen in the States and I'm trusting the word of someone else who told me about this (though looking at the circumstances, I've no reason to doubt him).

4. They would have all been employed by the WWF at the same time in early 93 until Martels first sabbatical, but I'm babbling now. It's something they all did at a particular PPV.

5. Sorry, yeah, spread out over multiple Wrestlemanias. Benoit and Bret have certainly both achieved the feat, but there's one guy who comes before them. As a bonus question, there's another guy (not the guy I'm looking for in the original question) that has competed for all three belts in Wrestlemania main events. Name him.

6. Yep, Bret. Point to Anubis.

7. There's several more than ten, but we're still stuck on nine, since Parisi and Pugliese are the same person.

I'll give time for people to have one more stab with the hints.
91Posted on 09/12/04 at 17:55:10

Not Michaels. Asides from the fact that the title reign isn't recognised, he probably (since we've never seen the footage) got to make actual physical contact with the belt when he "won".
JustinPosted on 09/12/04 at 18:38:04

ok so i'm answering out of order

3= Tatsumi Fujinami defeated Ric Flair for the World title in Japan on a PPV but Flair was awarded the title due to a DQ rule... The title can change hands on DQ/countout in Japan & Fujinami won the title by countout (i think) but the NWA/WCW "board of directors" said since it was for their title their rules applied not Japan's  Just as he was about to be awarded the title Flair grabbed it away & started protesting.

5= As far as I know the "Main Event" of a wrestlemania has never been a tag title or I-C title match. But Greg Valentine was IC Champ at WM 1, Tag Champ at WM 2 and was in the WWF Title tournament at WM 4, so he either challenged for or defended all 3 titles.

1= Jushin "Thunder" Lyger, Tiger Mask & Arachnaman (Armstrong) are all comic book characters

2= Was the second sub-minute WM 10 match The Heavenly Bodies vs The Bushwackers

7= Davey Boy Smith, William Regal, Andre the Giant, Dynamite Kid, Nikolai Volkoff, Antonio Pugliese, Bruno Sammartino, Karl Gotch, Dominic DeNucci and finally:  Ivan Putski is another tag champ that was born in Europe so Now there are 10

4= Martel, Duggan, Doink, Lawler.....Piper all were not wrestling at KOR 93 but got involved in that order during or after a match.

91Posted on 09/12/04 at 19:03:26

1. Spot on, they were both cartoon characters before they were wrestling characters. Armstrongs character was a rip-off of another, hence the "in a way" but made for a nice hint.

2. Nope.

3. If that's true, then it's very good. Not the one I was thinking of, but if you're right then you're right. Might have to dig out my copy of Superbrawl...

4. When did Piper come out? No, basically. I should note, they all did their thing in different years, but at the same PPV (IE one did their thing at Wrestlemania 6, one at WM7, one at WM8 - but it's not Wrestlemania, before anyone asks).

5. Bingo.

7. And Putski will do nicely. Naming all the ones I can think of (since there are loads) you could have had...

Davey Boy Smith, Dynamite Kid, William Regal (England)
Andre the Giant (France)
Karl Gotch (Germany)
Tony Parisi, Bruno Sammartino, Dino Bravo, Dominic Denucci (Italy)
Kane (Spain)
Nikolai Volkoff (Lithuania)
Ivan Putski (Poland)
Spiron Arion (Greece)

You could also have Chris Adams (England) as whilst he never competed in the WWF, he did hold their light heavyweight title back in the early 80's when it was defended in Mexico and Japan (as it was until they asked for the belt to be returned to them in 97 for their tournament). The title was also held by a young Chris Benoit...

On top of that, if you include the WCW cruiserweight title (since it's now been renamed as the WWE cruiserweight title) then Alex Wright (Germany) could also be an addition to the list.
JustinPosted on 09/12/04 at 19:51:33

all 4 captained their own team at the Survivor Series... so how about Jake Roberts as being next in line

if thats not it i give up
91Posted on 09/12/04 at 21:28:54

You're very very very close.
cerberosPosted on 09/13/04 at 07:33:53

Would it be the Big Show?  As they all captained teams that survived intact.  Martel at 1991, Duggan at 1992, Doink at 1993 and Lawler at 1994.  Show did it at 1999 although he beat up his own team to do it.  Am I right?
cerberosPosted on 09/13/04 at 07:37:02

As for the WMX match, is it that MOM vs. Quebecers ended within a minute but then got restarted?  I think that happened...but it could have been a different match between them.
JustinPosted on 09/13/04 at 14:19:00

the actual Doink wasn't even on the team in 1993.... it was Men On A Mission & The Bushwackers with their faces painted
91Posted on 09/13/04 at 17:27:57

I guess you could sort of count Show, but there's one guy who did it before him. But right reason. And yeah, Doink wasn't on the team but I figured if anyone was officially captain, it was probably him.

Anyway, I ended up giving everyone two more stabs, as such, so here are the answers in full...

1. Both characters were originally cartoon characters. Armstrongs Arachnaman was, of course, a rip-off of one too.

2. Quake and Bomb was certainly one. The other was Savage/Crush - if you remember, there was a rule that said after a fall, the loser had sixty seconds to return to the ring or be defeated. The match ended up seeing three pins, the first of which came at the start when Crush decked Savage in the aisle and pinned him in about twenty seconds.

3. Juventud Guerrera. He won the IGWP junior heavyweight title from Jushin Liger, who forgot to bring the belt with him. Juvi injured himself during the match and Psicosis defended it on his behalf a week later against Liger, and lost it back. But I'm still going to check up on the Fujinami one.

4. Cerberos got the right reason - all wrestlers captained their entire team to survival (Martel in 1990, Duggan in 91, Doink in 93 with his hand-picked morons and Lawler in 94). Undertaker was next to pull off that feat in 1995.

5. Valentine (IC belt WM1, tag belts WM2, world title WM4). The bonus question (which everyone missed) was who competed for all the titles in Wrestlemania main events - that was Hulk Hogan who competed for the IC belt at WM6 and the tag belts in the double main event of WM9, as well as several world title matches.

6. Bret Hart (1991 and 1993).

7. I'm not listing them again. But was I the only one who didn't know that Dino Bravo was born in Italy until I stumbled across it a few days ago?
americamamushiPosted on 09/13/04 at 18:00:30

But was I the only one who didn't know that Dino Bravo was born in Italy until I stumbled across it a few days ago?
There are two Dino Bravos in wrestling.  The original was born in Italy (I think) and wresteld with his brother Dominic, but I don't think he wrestled in WWWF

I think Dino Bravo that held the WWWF tag titles with Dominic Denucci in '78 was born in Montreal, Quebec (Or did he just spend most his life there?)
91Posted on 09/13/04 at 18:48:30

I had to double check myself, but here it is...

americamamushiPosted on 09/13/04 at 19:27:43

well i'll be darn-didally-arned  :)
AnubisPosted on 09/14/04 at 03:38:38

My God, too many things to go over.  I'll start at the beginning.

@Justin: Chris Adams has too worked for WWE.  He was a WWF Lightweight Champion.  Go to www.obsessedwithwrestling.com to see for yourself.

@91: I was wrong about Roddy Piper, but Ivan Putski isn't right either.  Ivan Putski was born in Texas according to his bio.  He's a lot like Roddy Piper.  He may be Polish but he wasn't born there.

On that, Bruno Sammartino is indeed a right answer.

As for the bonus question:

As a bonus question, there's another guy (not the guy I'm looking for in the original question) that has competed for all three belts in Wrestlemania main events. Name him.

No one.  The Tag Team Titles have never been up for grabs in a Wrestlemania main event.  The World Title has been in 17 main events and the Intercontinental Title has been in 1 main event, but the Tag Team Titles have never been in the main event.
91Posted on 09/14/04 at 03:57:01

I don't think Piper is Scottish at all (though I could be wrong on that) but I stand corrected on the Putski one. We still have way more than ten names though, so we're safe.

Chris Adams didn't work for the WWF persé, since the belt in question wasn't defended on WWF shows until 1997, but by answering Adams, you were still dead right.

And the tag titles, double main event WM9. I know Bret/Yoko was the real main event in everyones eyes, but if it's advertised as a double main event, then it's a double main event.
AnubisPosted on 09/14/04 at 09:12:46

On 09/14/04 at 03:57:01, 91 wrote:And the tag titles, double main event WM9. I know Bret/Yoko was the real main event in everyones eyes, but if it's advertised as a double main event, then it's a double main event.
I don't think advertising is what makes the main event.  I would think a main event makes itself, the same going for double main events and the such.  That match wasn't even the next to last match of the night.  There were two matches between that one and the main event, and the second main event, if there was one, was the instant match between Yokozuna and Hulk Hogan.

They could call an opener a main event, but that doesn't make it so.
americamamushiPosted on 09/14/04 at 09:24:45

I agree with 91.  If they bill it as a main event then it's a main event.  I could put a horse and a butternut squash in the first match on my card.  If I say it's the first of a doubel main event, then it is even if it ends in a time limit draw... or god forbid the horse eats that poor squash...

*Does best JR impression* THAT BUTTERNUT SQUASH HAS A FAMILY!  AND THAT HORSE DOESN'T CARE!

;D
JustinPosted on 09/14/04 at 13:27:07

The whole "double Main event" thing came about once they took the WWF title off Hogan.... Hogan only would compete in main event matches at PPV's so even though the WWF title match was the true main event & had a feud that was more developed & drew more interest; Hogan's "Main events" were often the last match of the night with the WWF Title match half way up the card.

Hogan's Double main event matches:
SummerSlam 90 vs Earthquake (WWF Title match Warrior vs Rude in a cage

Wrestlemania 8 vs Sid (WWF TItle Match Savage vs Flair)

Wrestlemania 9 w/ Beefcake vs Money Inc. (WWF Title match Hart vs Yokozuna)

even Wrestlemania 18 vs The Rock was considered a "double main event" (Undisputed Title Match HHH vs Jericho)

JustinPosted on 09/14/04 at 14:04:16

Every bio I have seen says that Ivan Putski was born in Poland and his family imigrated to Texas when he was 9... So he does belong on the list.

There is no hometown listed on Obsessed With Wrestling
