Whilst I'd love to know too, I suspect he won't tell - he once mentioned something about customer confidentiality (which is understandable) but I think there are a few who do use it. When Oliver's back, he can tell you himself one way or another.

Last time Oliver was presented with this question, he gave like a rough number of wrestlers who use it, but obviously, he can't really name names unless they give him specific permission to do so.

I bet Triple H does, and I bet he booked himself to win every match. :P

I know for a fact that at one time Stevie Richards was a user, as Stevie was once in a photo that was on the old tnm simplenet site.

:)

And I believe if you go to archive.org, and look at the old links to tnm.simplenet.com you can probably see it.  ;)

Well, I think he booked a sixty minute time limit draw for that handicap match against the first ten Horsemen.

The only wrestlers who have given me their permission to reveal their names are Doug Williams, Randy Savage and Stevie Richards.

There are about three dozen more but they deserve privacy, no?

Wow.  Stevie Richards isn't a surprise.  Doug Williams I don't know all that well but I suppose he fits the profile of people who would use this...  But Randy Savage?  That one is out of left field.  He just doesn't seem like a computer person to me.  Keen!

It allows him to get revenge for the 7,456,785 times he had to job to Hogan from 1985 to 2000. :-)

Wow, Savage is a big surprise, you'd have thought he would be too big a star to use a little program like TNM. :P Richards and Williams aren't a surprise. Without Olly saying, I might take a stab in the dark at X-Pac being one too (another fellow computer geek).

In all seriousness though, I wonder if they do book themselves as big stars. I've seen several circuits that people have had where they've booked themselves as big stars (when it comes to narcissism, Lex Luger has nothing on these guys) but for guys like Richards where it would actually be viable for them to make themselves huge names in their circuits, it'd be interesting to see whether they actually went and did just that.

At least to me, Randy Savage doesn't sound so left field. As we've all grown to know, he likes to plan out his matches well in advance. Something such as TNM can be a good source for spot combinations from time to time.

One rather well-known team of ECW fame got most of its signature spots this way.

DANNY DORING AND ROADKILL?!?!?

I *knew* that Amish thing was an act!!!!
Trance750Posted on 08/20/04 at 07:53:46

I would think that many wrestlers do not want anything to do with wrestling, outside of wrestling.... I mean think about it. You wrestle maybe 3 nights a week at TV shows and house cards, mixed with various public-appearance events and throw in a few hours a day in the gym.....I would think that they would be so sick of wrestling that the last thing they would want to do, was play a game about it.

You can't survive in the business if you don't live, eat and breathe it...

Not to mention, TNM is a fun program to use.  I have a feeling Triple H uses the program too.
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/20/04 at 22:35:32

Absolutely not. I am certain about that *g*
