Build 2 and Rewind

ThBeatnikPosted on 06/01/04 at 23:42:22

I've installed Build 2 (and I know it's taken, because I have the "Build 2" label across the bottom of the menu screen), but I can't seem to get the Rewind feature to work. Instead, pushing the 'R' button after a match restarts the match, just like in Build 1.
Are there any match settings that need to be in place for this feature to work? Or is the shortcut key something other than 'R'? I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I can't tell just what it might be.

Thanks.

The shortcut key is "w"

While on the topic of Build 2, sorry if I seem a little blind, but where do you set up the Three-Move Series?

See? I figured it was something obvious like that! :)

Where you enter combo moves for people, if you only enter a move in the first slot, it'll perform the series of moves, if I remember correctly.

The manual has been updated. Just search for "Build 2" and you'll find the changes.

Well for those of us without Microwoft Word, the manual doesn't work, just says it's unable to load graphics conversion filter. It was better on pre-SE where the manual opened in the program itself.

The above suggestion about the combo moves did work, so it's fine.

I see... actually, I didn't even think about somebody NOT having Word or Wordpad. Would it help if I included it in PDF form instead?

The thing is: the old manual was difficult to stay on top of because you didn't have any illustrations. Hence, one of the most requested "features" for SE was to have a manual which deserved the name.

PDF might work, I know I have it.

Would it be possible to do a windows style help file with the table of contents and all?  I know there are programs out there that allow for writing of such files, having played with them a couple years ago.

This would be most useable for the largest number of TNM users I would think.

Regarding the Rewind function, I notice that while you can see what happened, you can't actually capture it with the H key.  The rewind feature is nice, but I think that for it to be truly useful it needs to include this capability.  After all, a lot of people enjoy recording the finishes of their match, and from time to time the move that causes the finish occurs on one page and the finish on the next.  Given that we don't necessarily know which move will cause the finish, it'd be nice to be able to go back and actually record the entire finish if it sneaks up on us, you know?

Just a suggestion.

Critic, I agree with you, you should be able to highlight it.

Eric - great idea. I'll implement that for the July 1 build.

Rick - I'll look into that. Thank you!
