americamamushiPosted on 05/29/04 at 00:44:00

Here is month 1 for my TNM Ruleset.  I'll also be posting the federation in the circuit's section.  It's called "FWF: Frontier Wrestling Federation."  Please feel free to leave comments, suggestions, ideas, ect. as I've obviously got a long way to go.   :)

1. The Set up
To set up your circuit you'll need to hire 20 wrestler, 10 face & 10 heel.  Hire all wrestlers for 26 card contracts.  Make sure that you have at least 4 possible tag teams on your roster as well, 2 face teams and 2 heel teams.  It is your choice whether to use existing teams or pair two of your singles wrestlers together to make your own.  You'll also need to create two title belts, your main single championship and your main tag team championship.  All other settings are up to you.  Finally, you will need a 'rep' for your federation.  An announcer, your head ref, an interviewer, it's up to you.  When booking your cards, try as best you can to keep it face vs. heel and make sure you have a heel ref.

2. Week 1
     - We want to start out the federation with a bang.  Let's put the main singles title aroudn someone's waist so that the fans can really associate a face with your new federation.  On your first card run 4 battle royal matches consisting of 5 wrestlers each (make these pinfall or submission elimination, whether they are over the top as well is up to you) try not to put two members of the same tag team in a battle royal together).  Try to put together guys that have similar style if possible to showcase the various levels your federation appeals to fans on, but make sure that none of your battle royals appear to have a weak set of guys either, after all you want to impress your fans so they'll buy more tickets!
     - Then, using the 'W' key run a non-elimination 4-Corners match for the title using the 4 battle royal winners.  This will show us who the real stand-out player in your federation is and will finally give the fans a face to associate with your circuit, whether they be liked or hated.  Treat the winner of the title as the franchise of your federation.
     - Make an announcement that next week the tag title will be decided in a one night only four team tourny.  Announce the teams that will be competing as well, the 4 tag teams that you have set up before we started.

3. Week 2
     - To open your up your second card, run the first two matches of your tag tourny for your tag titles.  Have both first round matches be face team vs. heel team.
     - It seems that the wrestler that lost the fall in last week's title match still has beef with your newly crowned champion.  Have him challenge your champion to a title match next week.  Have your champ accept the match, but give the fans a little preview by booking a tag match 'on the fly.'  Pair both wrestlers with two other wrestlers on your roster that already seem to you like strong workers to you or if they already have connections to a worker on your roster (relative, close friend, tag partner, stable mate, ect) all the better!  Just make sure that you pick two people not already on the card.  This match should be your semi-main event, though the set-up should happen at least one match before this match occurs.
     - For your main event, use the 'W' key to run the tournament finals and crown your first tag team champions.
     - Book the rest of your wrestlers in singles matches, making sure not to book any of them before the first matches of your tourny or after the semi-mainevent match

4. Week 3
     - For your main event this week your champion and the wrestler that challenged them last week will square off, one on one.  Have the challenger's partner from last week attack the champion backstage after the first or second match of the card.  Before the main event, make an announcement after the challenger has made his entrance that the champion is injured and cannot compete tonight.  Just before the challenger is about to throw a fit that he doesn't get his match, have the champion run in from the audience behind the challenger and attack, starting the match.  Make sure you let it be known when he enters that he really is injured and is competing impaired so that your fans don't get the impression that it was a work.  Have the challenger's team mate interfere in the match, but also have the champions partner from last week interfere to even up the odds and help his injured friend.
     - For your semi-main event, have a non-title match between your tag team champions and the team that they DIDN'T face last week during the tournament (the losing team on in the OTHER match from your champs)
     - Have a manager appear at the card, but just appear.  Don't let them talk or interfere or interact with anyone on your roster or staff.  If you want, they can sit in the audience, just make their presence known (especially if you pick a manager that not everyone might know)
     - One half of one of your heel tag teams that is not already booked is complaining backstage.  They are saying that last week in the tournament that they weren't really given a chance to showcase their talents as heels and ability to generate heat from the crowd.  They ask you to let them showcase their talents this week, in hopes that you'll like them and give them a run with the tag belts in the future.  Give this team a match against another team in your circuit (if another team is not availible pair up two singles wrestlers so this match) but make it a no countout match, and make sure your heel referee refs this match to help the team get heat.
     - To open your card, have two high-flyers, luchadores or cruiserweights on your roster face each other
     - You can give the champion's team mate and the challenger's team mate from the main event the week off from wrestling, since they will be appearing on TV/at your show in other forms this week.

5. Week 4
     - For the main event, give the team mate of last week's loser a shot at the champion in a title match, but have last week's loser (livid from their loss) interfere against both men.  While we're on the subject, he shouldn't be booked to wrestle this week either, nor should the team make of last week's winner.
     - Look on your "Hot list" (by hitting the "X" key on your main circuit page).  Take a heel that is hot and start pushing him towards the title scene.  This week, have him face one half of your tag team champions.  If no heels are on your hot list then simply pick one from your roster not currently involved in your main event scene.
     - Look on your "Not list" (see directions above).  Take someone that is on the 'not' list and give them one last chance to prove themselves before you fire them, you heartless promoter you.  Have them face the other half of your tag team champions in a falls-count-anywhere match.  If he wins, give him a second chance in your federation (a win over a champion will help him get over hopefully), if they lose, then it's obvious the fans will NEVER get behind him now, so send him packing.
     - The fans really gave that heel tag team of yours alot of heat last week.  Since they were drawing so much heat, you want to push them towards the tag titles.  Let them try and destroy two of the weaker face wrestlers on your roster in a tag match and let your heel ref be the referee again.
     - It appears as though the manager that was at last week's show is here again this week.  Do the same as you did last week with him and nothing more.
     - Bring in an international star this week, someone from Mexico or Japan and preferably not someone who is already a big star, though it is up to you.  Only hype their appearance next week, don't let them actually wrestle.

The only problem I see with this ruleset so far is there's no guarantee anyone will be on the Who's Hot and Who's Not list.  GCW isn't done with a rulset, I have 38 wrestlers under contract, and I have only one guy relatively close to being NOT after 9 cards.  You might want to tweak that rule a bit.

I put a thing on the hot list one that says if no heels are on your hot list, simply pick one not involved in the main event scene.  I thought I added that little note for the next rule involving a wrestler on the 'not' list, but I obviously I forgot to add it after looking back at it.  Thanks though. ;D
