Another suggestion...

Is it possible to do contracts for managers from a programming standpoint?  Well, I'm sure it's possible... but is it more trouble than it would ever be worth? :)

Contracts for managers? Hmmm... technically, it could be done.

Has there ever been a situation in history where a manager quit/got fired/jumped and it made any difference in the short or the long run?

Actually, I can think of one occasion: Ted DiBiase leaving the WWF.

Well, very true... if a manager leaves, it doesn't have the impact of a wrestler leaving.  It just always seemed a little awkward that you can just assign managers willy-nilly though, as in reality, they're on-air talent, and not just anyone gets hired.  They have to get paid too. :)

That's true. Yet, when not dealing with finances anyway, it does seem a bit far out there :)

The central question I always ask myself is what use a feature would have to the user. Having contracts for managers - I just for the life of me can't see the purpose of it all other than cosmetics.

Anybody :)?

This would have been MEGA useful in the old Multiplayer games, as disputes occasionally arose over the latest "hot Diva", etc.

That said, it could also be useful for anyone who does Universes (like me).  That said, it's also not *necessary*

This does indeed have limited uses, with a TNM-MP like circuit or other "universe" setup being the primary example.

As another example: Rick Rude, when he was on WWF and WCW the same night (cause RAW was taped the previous week).  Of course, in that case, Rude was working on a night-by-night basis then signed a long term deal with WCW.  So it's not quite the same thing.

Show-by-show contracts are technically available now aren't they?  Because you can now sign to anywhere from 1 to 99 cards? (only with the TweakCirc plugin?)

I guess the option couldn't hurt - certainly the multiplayer point is a fair one as I myself am in the same boat (albeit the other players being myself). If it's going to take you longer to code in than it would to watch Dune over and over until fully understood, then it's not THAT important and I'm sure everyone could live with themselves if they didn't have it.

Conversely if it'll take you ten minutes to put together and will have about as much impact on how quickly the program runs as the impact the New Impact Players had on anything, then I'd say go for it.

Well, it would be a lot more than ten minutes as it would affect the hiring process of the wrestlers, the card scheduler, the card server (the program that prepares the matches for execution), the ControlCenter (deleting managers), the Database Cleaner plugin, the main circuit program etc etc.
