Highly meaningless and piddling observation

In the match speed section in the options menu, when you ask to demonstrate the current speed, you get the sentence "The quick red fox jumps over the lazy dog". Shouldn't that be a brown fox?

I'm sorry, I'll go home now.

No, it's lazy...

The reason is that old typewriters used this sentence to check all the letters. Lazy used the y and z.

Yes it should be "brown fox" and "lazy dog".  I wonder if red fox is referring to Redd Foxx of Sanford and Son? ;)

I think you mis-read what I wrote there.

The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs.

That's pretty much how I know it....  No W or B in the quoted version.....  ;)

'jumps over the lazy dog' is two letters shorter.

Of course, if Oliver REALLY wanted a short sentence to go with, he could have gone with 'Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz'. Or for one with no recurring letters, 'Mr. Jock, TV quiz Ph.D., bags few lynx'.

How long did you stay up last night figuring those 2 out?

I knew the first one off the top of my head, the second I just did a Google for Pangrams to get.

I also recall reading about a newspaper headline:

"Quartz Glyph Job Vex'd CWM Finks"

...that fit the criteria :) .

Actually, it was an honest mistake. I could have just as well put "blind text" in there *g*
