TNM Circuit Spreadsheet

SockoPosted on 03/01/04 at 23:33:04

Inspired by Rick's new Ruleset (nice work buddy, keep 'em coming) I have been tinkering and constructing a spreadsheet that outlines a month's structure when running a TNM circuit.

After filling in the 'rankings' section on the sheet it then places wrestlers into match slots, with a wrestler's ranking giving weight to his/her chances of making a title shot at the end of the month at the PPV card.

I've already ran a few month's using it, and have enjoyed it thus far, and although I never really created it with the thought of distribution in mind, I'd be more than happy to share it should someone wish to give it a blast.

It's currently designed for a roster of 40, with 3 singles (the 3rd being a Tertiary "House Show" belt), and 1 tag belt active within. There is only one monthly structure at present, so as it is, I'm merely repeating the same procedure every month, however, I would like to add a number of other monthly structures to it in time to add variety.

Glad to see you're back making stuff again.  I wouldn't mind using that spreadsheet either.

Thank you to the guys who have been in touch requesting the sheet, and RockStar, it's nice to find time again to work on something 'TNM' :)

I've uploaded the sheet, along with a screenshot of it, here ..

Now, I'm aware that people may have questions over this, so if any should arise please feel free to ask :)

Socko-I'm working w/ your spreadsheet, and I have a question.  When you enter your rankings so that the srdsht can create the matches, you have to already have a champion determined, correct?  Did you hold your first card as a tournament "off sheet" so to speak?  In order to determine your champs and rankings?  Or am I missing something?
SockoPosted on 03/04/04 at 16:11:54

cotguy,

That one's totally down to yourself. Personally, I simply allocated guys to slots using my own preference, whereas a friend of mine did indeed hold an 'off-sheet' card to set his up. I'm pleased to say that both have turned out really well so go with what you feel :)

One note though, if you go with your own preference, don't forget to allocate someone in the 'champion' slot. They don't have to start as the champion, but keep in mind that this guy/gal will be red-hot fave to take the title :)

OK, I got that. Thanks. I'm going w/ the "set my own" method. I'm still having trouble, though. 3 scenarios:

1) It seems like to me that sheet is set-up as a loop. The first time through, the sheet is looking for PPV winners to plug into matches, but the PPV hasn't happened yet. I can't figure out how to force guys into slots that are set automatically by the sheet, if that's how you have to handle it the first time through

2) Several of the losers boxes have a ranking pos. to the right of them, What does that mean?

3) At the house shows, the only match that's auto-set is the main event. Are the rest wide-open, and don't count towards any rankings? Also, how do you book the mystery wrestler at house shows? I can't ge those slots to take an entry either.

Thanks, Socko.
SockoPosted on 03/05/04 at 03:32:19

1) Before proceeding in a new month you must fill in the rankings list (located at the bottom right of the page). This tells the sheet who the various competitors are in each division.

2) These are indeed ranking positions .. these display where the wrestler will be ranked at the start of NEXT month.

3) The mystery matches simply mean that in TNM you set up a match involving (m)ystery wrestlers in the situation that you need to hire more talent.

Any match boxes that are blank can be handled however you see fit. I tend to set up randonly made matches in those slots, and to give them purpose I tend to increase the push rating of wrestlers who are on a streak.

Hope this is of some help :)

I have micro office works, your spreadsheet wont convert
to works spreadsheet, any suggestions?
SockoPosted on 03/06/04 at 13:20:25

Hmm, a good question ...

... I'm not sure that it *can* be converted to a Works version (it screws up if I try and save as a Works format here), although, I *do* have a version of the sheet here that works with a free package called EasyOffice if you're interested? EasyOffice is around an 80MB download though.

I got the spreadsheet to work thanks. My next question is
once you finish one month do you copy a blank and put in
the ranks from the previous month to set up the next  months matchs? also do you intend to expand on the spread sheet and put more options in? keep up the good work, the spreadsheet is great, it adds another option to using TNM
Magister369Posted on 03/09/04 at 06:51:13

Almost forgot, the second page, I assume its used to keep track of your total roster?
SockoPosted on 03/14/04 at 19:30:21

Firstly, apologies for the delay in replying ...

When preparing the next month, I simply update the division lisings and then blank off the rest of the sheet, However, using a fresh sheet each month would allow you to keep a nice history of your circuit I guess :)

The second page is indeed just to track your roster, you're not required to fill that in if you don't wish but I find it handy for myself.

And yes, I'm looking to create 12 different monthly formats in the long run, so if you have any ideas to add I'd be happy to hear them. Glad you're finding the sheet fun :)
SockoPosted on 03/21/04 at 16:00:18

Now that I've had time to sit down and take a good look at things, plus satisfy myself that the existing sheet does it's job, I am now starting to add new monthly layouts. Many of these will merely be variants of the current format, but when completed there will be 16 layouts in total. These are:

A total of 7 'standard' layouts.

3 layouts where the primary/secondary/tag titles are defended in a triple threat match.

A 'Royal Rumble' month

A 'Wrestlemania' month

A month where the Primary title isn't defended, but the champ features in a high profile tag match at the PPV

A 'King of the Ring' month.

A 'Survivor Series' month

A month where the Primary Title is defended in an Elimination Chamber match

I'm also still taking requests, so if anyone has any ideas please let me know :)

One idea would be for a stable war month resulting in a war games match.  Just an idea.
