The NWA - is it possible?

I just sunk my teeth into the Ric Flair DVD (best wrestling video/DVD release ever IMO) and I really miss the way that the NWA handled the World Championship, having one champion defend the title over all the different territories under the NWA umbrella.

Is this possible with TNM? The only way I could figure on doing it would be to create a circuit per region. So for example, one circuit for the USWA, on for Mid-Atlantic, one for Georgia, and so on, (although managing 3 feds would be hard enough) then creating a separate circuit just for NWA World Title defenses.

Either that, or having the "NWA World Title" in each circuit, and using the "hand over title" option for whomever the champion is, so the title could be defended within that cicruit. For example:

Let's say you have the forementioned USWA, Mid-Atlantic, and Georgia circuits. You then create the NWA World Title in each fed, leaving in vacant. Now let's suppose that Ric Flair is the NWA World Champion, and say that Jerry Lawler is the number one contender. You could bring Flair into the USWA, use the "hand over title" option to give him the belt, then have the match with Lawler. Supposing Flair wins, you would have to vacate the belt in the USWA circuit and get rid of Flair. You could then do the same thing in the other circuits each time Flair defends the title.

The only down side is that you'd have to have hiring off, unless you just went in and had a match for the vacant title, using the "~" key to have Flair wrestle, although your results would always say that Ric Flair won the NWA World Title", even though he just was defending it, not winning it each time.

Has anyone tried doing this, and if so, did you pull it off, and how?

Seems like it'd be easier just to run Jim Crockett Promotions from 86-89 since that was basically the only NWA territory remaining once Crockett bought Florida, Georgia, and St. Louis.

I think it'd be interesting if someone decided to try their hand at the NWA of the mid to late 80's and tried to make them more of a threat to the WWF.  Perhaps defying whatever would be considered "realistic" for the time, and starting a Nitro like broadcast.  Most shows back then were jobber squashes and the occassional midcarder vs midcarder matches.  Might be interesting to put a spin on it.

However, if you want to simulate an umbrella version of the NWA, you should private message Masked_Texan.  I forgot the URL of his website, but he goes into great detail in the amount of promotions he runs.

I'm almost finished with the updates.  I need to finish up the "What's New" link and also the "Upcoming Supercards" link.  Should have that ready sometime tomorrow or Friday.

Everything else should work.

Happy New Year to everyone!

I had tried this a long time ago... My suggestion was to allow Sub Circuits (This would allow NWA style as well as WWE Raw/ WWE Smackdown scenarios.

In the end, I had four "minor" circuits, and one major one. All four had the Talent Limitations on, and the major one ONLY hired the top contenders from the other four.

All WORLD title matches were held in the Major circuit. All lesser titles were held in their own circuit.

It all worked, but was a bit of a pain to manage, and you would ONLY see the World Title info in the Major Circuit :->
