From One Computer to Another?!?!
LillaThrilla | Posted on 09/05/03 at 19:13:11 Yes, you just need to make sure you move the entire copy of TNM you used - you can't copy a circuit or anything. If you use a CD-RW to move it (its either that or alot of ZIP files & floppies or maybe ZIPing it and emailing it), be sure when you put it on your apartment computer that none of the files are set to Read Only. |
Oliver Copp | Posted on 09/08/03 at 18:25:10 First of all - welcome :-) Josh put it right. It's best to ZIP up the entire folder and move that to a removable media (e.g. USB stick, CD-R etc). Then unpack it onto the new system for all access rights to be restored properly. Dragging the folder onto a CD-R will turn all files into read-only files which'll wreak havoc on the program. |
fett | Posted on 10/23/03 at 18:22:18 Define Havoc please. My computer decided to go belly up, and I only had time to copy the file without zipping first. What files must I uncheck as read only? Thanks! |
psz | Posted on 10/24/03 at 02:05:54 Windows XP does not set files to Read Only from CDs. Just a note ;-> |
Oliver Copp | Posted on 10/26/03 at 09:42:16 That much I didn't know :-) Havoc: every write access to every file will fail due to the read-only bit being set, which will in turn cause TNM 7 to error out every time it tries to write something to your HD. |
